A small correction. The Romanian Triumphal Arch is not a replica of the one in Paris. It has its own unique architecture and it was designed by a Romanian architect. Sure, it looks similar, but calling it a replica is not accurate. Otherwise, great vid!

seeing the comments I just wanted to leave one myself in order for you guys to know that there are indeed also Romanians who are actually able to spell English correctly :)) other than that I found it remarkable that besides the usual places u also included things like the story of that subway station which I didn't know myself and I'm sure most people from Bucharest don't know either. oh and btw Carul cu bere isn't what would be called a "tourist trap", many locals go there as well because the prices are reasonable and the food is really good, it's actually one of the most famous restaurants in the town if not the most..keep up the good work !

I am born here in Bucharest ,my father also was born here in Bucharest ,i have 40 years old ,my father passed away. But i can tell you something that most don t know about this restaurant. Manny years ago was the most exepensive and big restaurant in the country. In this restaurant came to eat only big ,big names ,like Toma Caragiu, Olimpia Panciu ( r.i.p ) and my father was pilot so we came when i was very young ,very small to eat here every week. I eat here one of my best deserts " clătite cu unt" ( pancakes with butter) i will never forget the atmosphere...amazing ..we came during day time becose i was small and i wasn t allowed to come in during evening😂 but i found out when i grew up why...loud music, alcoolic drinks so they started to talk dirty ,dance even " tango" ( a passionated dance ) it became during evening like a club 😂. So the saying with expensive it s not so wrong becose back in those days it was like this , only big names entered here, chef of police ( șef de miliție) so on.

Bucharest has a looot of great places, but unfortunately you just have to literally discover them as they are not promoted at all. I've been living in Bucharest for 7 years now and I still discover new and unique locations every now and then. For instance, did you know that there is a delta inside the city? It's called Delta Vacaresti and it has its own unique flora and fauna and it's right in the middle of all the apartment blocks and streets. It's makes for a really nice bicycle ride around it.

@The Guardian Lion I can't speak for the person above, but there are some, like Chaya Teahouse, in the Jewish Quarter, very close to the Museum of Romanian Records, where you can find the world's largest collections of corkscrews and pressing irons. (They even made corkscrews with functional pistols at one point in France). Chaya is in an old 20th Century house, very nicely decorated, you should google it.
There's also Ceai la Metoc, in one of the most gorgeous yet simple gardens in Bucharest. Very few tourists go there, it's at one of Bucharest oldest houses, in the Ottoman-influenced architecture that was all around Bucharest before French influence. I think there are only 4-5 houses left from that era (pre-1850), along with Manuc's Inn and several other Inns and Churches. :)
