This video is an opinion and in no way should be construed as statements of fact. Scams, bad business opportunities, and fake gurus are subjective terms that mean different things to different people. I think someone who promises $100K/month for an upfront fee of $2K is a scam. Others would call it a Napoleon Hill pitch.

I haven't dived deep into this story but as another commentor said, that's not necessarily the calculation. From what I saw here they *need* to raise $500,000 but are open to raising more. Therefore, 10% isn't necessarily $500,000. It's still a ridiculous valuation but that part isn't necessarily fraudulent.

I mean, trust is something you give while knowing you can be betrayed. If you have plans on how to deal with it it's alright, the issue is really about _blind_ trust, which is more common than we often realize.

The salient question is "what is Disrupt's annual ad revenue?"
    I couldn't get to Disrupt's financials, so here's a best-case look at revenue.
Fifty videos have been posted since July 20, 2021. These videos got 35 million views (I counted) and averaged 702,000 views per video. Twelve videos got a million or more views.
If we assume Disrupt received the top $8-per-1,000 views ad rate (and a much lower rate might have been received) the channel grossed $281,000 over the past 52 weeks.
This means Disrupt values itself at 38-times its ad revenue, which is beyond absurd. Sponsorships bring in additional money but couldn't possibly justify the asking price.
    THIS IS CLEARLY A SCAM.

Interesting story! Truth of matter is there are always 2-sides to every story (as we all know). That being said, the problem is once lawyers get involved (and the courts) things get ugly and EXPENSIVE very fast. Then, everything written in future TH-cam videos on discord servers could potentially be used as further evidence in future lawsuits...it just gets very ugly very fast. Bottom line, get everything in WRITING when you are even thinking of starting any type of business. Especially, when you have partners (even if silent ones). No one wins when courts and lawyers get involved....

The fact that it is via a crowdfunding platform should be a red flag all on its own. When you're talking percentages and shares, I feel like it has to be a lot more organized, a lot more specific & personalized...and Transparent! Where is the paperwork...and lawyers?! When our bank went public on the stock market, they sold shares and my parents bought some...they have so much paperwork, telling them everything they would possibly need to know. What exactly they bought, how much they bought, what they can do with it, etc. I know this is a TH-cam channel and not Wall Street, but when you use the same terminology, I expect the same standards.
