  • Rob Murphy's 'Splice Here: A Projected Odyssey' cinema/film history documentary mentioned in this video is now available in the USA and Canada and can be found here: mailchi.mp/06a...
I'm not sure there is a Blu-ray release in the Americas now that I've looked again (streaming only perhaps) but I shall update here if I hear anything different. May still be available in Australia here: potentialfilms...
Rob Murphy's news page about international releases of Splice Here and to subscribe to his mailing list here: splicehere.web...
Clark Teddles 'Pulp Fiction' projection box video can be seen here: • Pulp Fiction on 35mm (...
I've been watching Quentin Tarantino's films recently and this is my lastest dip into the maestro's maelstrom. The story of a group of American soldiers parachuted into Italy in 1944 with the mission to hunt down Germans and butcher them as vengeance for the treatment meted out to Jewish people across Europe.
The aspect ratio is 2.40:1 (approximately). Sound is DTS-HD 5.1. Film originally shot full frame anamorphic 35mm but the subsequent videos released to cinemas were apparently only a lowly 2K and that is seems to be the source for this 4K disc. However, as with so many 2K upscales they do tend to look just as good on our tiny home screens so as far as I can see there is nothing to be concerned about in this regard. Some will have picked up on some soft focus shots here and there but that is normal with film making and is nothing to do with the cine to video transfer. Hopefully Inglourious Basterds was finished on film so if you were lucky enough to see a 35mm print then you will undoubtedly have seen this one at its best.
