St Anton, aka the cradle of the alps, a.k.a weltdorf,
was considered one of the best ski resorts in the world, even before-
the built of the Flexhenbhan lift in 2016 that connect it to Zurs-
Thus, making the Arlberg ski area 305 km of connected ski runs
Making it the largest in Austria.
Above all this, the Arlberg ski Area has 200 km of ski routes which are kind of inspected and marked off-piste areas.
The Arlberg ski area has 88 lifts and 141 runs, 52 % are blue, 35% red, and 13% black runs.
St Anton gets around 7 meter of snow every season thus making it one of the best places in Europe for free riders.
the shootings took place in April 10 so the snow condition wasn’t at it best.
The Arlberg ski area connects several ski resorts and villages
The most outstanding are Lech, Zurs and St Anton.
For our opinion St Anton is the best place to stay
as it has the only pedestrian area and the best night life.
The best area to stay in St Anton is in the west side of the pedestrian ar ea
which have 3 ski lifts going out to 3 different picks about they named about.
The Gampen 4seater chair lift
The rendelbahn, and one of the most famous and innovative ski lifts:
The Galzigbahn which resembles a ferry wheel.
In the pedestrian area you will find all the best nightlife places begin your night crawl int the Scotties or Cuba bar for the beginning of the night or to the Picadilly live Rock bar if you love live gigs and cover bands.
after that, we recommend going to the Post Keller and the Horney Bull for some clubbing.
St Anton also has 2 of the best Apres ski Bars in the world:
The Crazy Kanguru attract mainly seasoners and young British, Aussies and Swedish.
And the famous Mooserwirt which attract every one
I was there off-season but believe me, these places are bustling all season.
before we wrap up, here are our numbers for St Anton:
For snowboarders: 9
Advance skiers:10
Intermediate skiers:8
Beginners:6
Freestylers: 7
Free riders: 10
.Nightlife: 9
Apres ski: 9
Resort charm: 8.5
Our total score for St Anton is a 9.
we can declare that after the connection to the rest of the Arlberg ski area, St Anton is the best ski resort in Austria and can give a good fight to any other ski resort for the world title
Our bonus tip for St Anton
Be aware that the area west of the pedestrian area and west of the Galzig lift is a steep mountain, so if you will book a hotel, let's say, 400 meters from the lift in that direction, it is all an uphill battle, especially if you go back tired after a night of clubbing. also, going down with your equipment can be tricky and dangerous on the icy street.
Of course, there are ski buses and night buses, but you don’t want to depend on these.
If you stay in that area, we strongly recommend that you to leave your gear in lockers near the Galzig bahn.

I just spent a week there and got back late last night. While skiing on Friday 14th March in the mid afternoon, they suddenly closed all the lifts and said that the resort was closed due to the Coronavirus. Within about 18 hours, about 99% of all guests and seasonal workers were gone either by car or bus (trains stopped coming to town). By the time we left on Saturday morning, the place was like a ghost town except for those of us waiting at the bus station. It was very surreal. Glad to be home 🏡!
You have to go now it’s much better
Only 9 for apres?! It's the birth place for apres ski and has the best BY A LONG WAY of apres bars on the Alps! No other resort even comes close 👀
I go to st anton every year and it is so much fun. Seeing your video made me so happy.

This is where I learned to snowboard. I did 3 seasons here from 2012-2015. Also did a summer season in Lech.
I just love the Arlberg 😍😍
best place in the world can confirm
amazing.fantastic video, fun and informative..would like to visit
Wicked video..!! Thanks for the tips ❄ ⛷
Excellent detailed video. Recommended.
I love St. Anton because it is so fun to go Skiing in St. Anton
LOOKS AMAZING
Usefull information!!
Great video, cool shooting ❤️❤️
Last year I visited there. There's something I can't forget i drank hot wine and ate venison Everything is so awesome.
Hi again. Fasching week is middle of February I think it’s based around shrove Tuesday the catholic holiday. It’s a festival week in euro and it combines with uk Irish and European half terms. All of Europe descends on the alps. I found Kaprun really nice ( snow sure) nearby Zell am See is gorgeous and links to Saalbach. Huge area. I am afraid it’s all pricey ( still 60%) the price of Zermatt.
Been there January 2018, , the best ski resort we ever been so far.
Excellent scenery, lovely people, food abit pricey but overall highly recommended. We are going to Chamonix next week and we are not expecting any high expectations compared to St Anton.
St Anton, see you again in 2020
How did you find Chamonix by comparison? My friends and I are undecided between the two resorts!
100% St Anton
Chamonix has 4 mountains but not connected. We have to drive to a different mountain everyday.
added to my "Must go" list :-)
Perfect video again amazing
Love your reviews, most relevant info and great editing

Looks great!
Looks like a really great ski resort
fantastic video, fun and informative. it is really the best ski resort in Austria today ( or Lech)
You can ski from one to the other in a couple hours it's all one huge connected area
Yeah, it's all together: Warth, Lech, Zürs, Stuben, St. Christoph and St. Anton.
U can do all by ski but there also buses which are included in the Liftpass. It cost u round about €57.- per day.
Nice video! At 7:07 is Val Thorens btw ;)
Thanks so much, Han

Good spot! Swings round to the right then over a bridge to the left
Skied there twice for weeks. Good video that captured the essence. The only problem with Sankt Anton is the weather, which can close in for days at a time.
Yes - when the weather is bad there, it can be very bad !
Очень красиво👍
Stay safe always
looks great
I used to work in Lech the snow bunnies are the best
Awesome!!! 😍
Awesome video!!
great tips
I was there that wass so cool
I have been to St Anton more times than I can remember. My favourite ski resort. I can't wait to go again.

Hi, I love your reviews, thanks a lot for the effort! Any tips on Serfaus-Fiss-Ladis?
Not that I know of. hopefully this winter we will film there a review.
Ischgl review is available? Cannot find in the videos.
Stay in Pettneu, which is a nice little village only 10-15 minutes away and a lot cheaper. Apres ski was great when in my 20s, meanwhile in my 60s many spots are too much noise and trouble. Food options are expensive and worse than the rest of austria. When weather is too windy they close half of Anton ski resort, and Rendl completely.
As a ski virgin, This vidoe really made me wanna try
Nice video dude🤙 i live there🤙
@@SkiResortsVideo thanks mate!
Great review loved it!!!

Nice vid
The Double Man 1967 was filmed in St Anton Am Arlberg
Are you
reviewing Val Gardena
superrr👍👍👍
Amazing! And talented!
Hi, great video and information!! I was wondering, for the off piste (groomers), are there crevices or anything like that I should worry about?
thanks so much MTfilms!
I'm not sure, to be honest, better consult to one of the guides there. love your passion for freeride, Michael😘⛷
Riding off piste is actually seen as "courteous" there ... quite unique.
What was the date? And about the ski passes: can you access all parts of the mountain(s) in Arlberg?
the review was filmed around April 10th. The Arlberg ski pass give you access to the whole ski area
Do black ski routes require avi pack and a partner? Or are they avalanche controlled and patrolled? I heard that going down Vallunga requires guide, but that is clearly backcountry terrain.
all you assumptions are good, the ski routes are avalanche controlled, and the Valluga requires a guide
December it’s a good time to visit St Anton and do ski activities?
I prefer it later,but yes it's good!
😍 !!!
Apres is all about Taps, the video was going so well till then.
A favourite of mine since 1983. Not a resort for beginners! The Mooserwirt sells more beer than any other bar in Austria....& it's only open during the ski season!
Any tip for ski resort in Austria or Italy for nearly 60 year old parents who were intermediate skiers but are now more about a nice relaxing holiday in a picturesque area with easy skiing, restaurants etc.?
@@SkiResortsVideocan confirm that SkiWelt is a great intermediate area. It's also easy to reach, massive, picturesque, and not too far from airports.
Lech is for you for sure. I've skied a pile of resorts in Italy and Austria, but Lech really stands out for intermediate skiers. You'll find very nice accommodation, great restaurants, low-key night-life and wonderful scenery. If it's good enough for the Dutch Royal Family, then it's good enough for you, too!
The Dolomites are the most picturesque .Good Spa is in Bad Hofgastein. Cortina is very nice.Val Gardena is fantastic. Fiss/ Ladis is fine.
Hey! I wonder where the best after ski/ party resort is in the Alps. Going away next year for the first time by my self and my friends. We are good skiers
it is hard to say, but St Anton and Ischgl are the best in Austria( although many resorts in Austria have good apre ski)
and Val Thorens, L' Alp D'Huez and Val D'Isere in France
Sounds like you need to go to Val Thorens
Best ski in St (Man)ton
do more ski resorts please like bankso and chamonix
Sundeep Sandhu Chamonix is paradise for steep and deep.
Wieder so herrlich gezeigt! Ja St.A. mit Hannes Schneider zeigte die ganze Welt, Wintersport fuer schiefahren geht rund um die Welt, auch Pakistan kennt es ja schon!
How long does the season last? Is April 10th leaving it too late? Great content BTW!
@@ShredBot Awesome, thanks for the insider information!
thanks so much, James

Several years ago I skied there in first week of May Q!
I don't get the hate T-bars get. For beginner areas, short sections and on windy areas where a chair would often mean it was closed, they make perfect sense.
Most of them were shut when I went in mid December
Lucky u went before covid
Absolutely insane , dancing on tables, how original. lol!
Please can you do Val D’isere and Tignes?
Val d'Isere video will be published around new years eve
Thank you!
there you are: th-cam.com/video/82JQrAoTIHM/w-d-xo.html
Just be ready for free-for-all lift lines where people will literally walk right across your skis to get one more chair ahead.
Kitzbühel of Bad Gastein gorgeous also.
i agree, later in the season we will upload reviews on these resorts
Where do you recommend to stay?
as close as posible to the Galzig, but not to hight on Oberdorf. the whole area between galzig and around the pedestrian area is good to stay. also next to Nasserein gondola is good, espacially towards the pedestrian area
Is it worth going in the beginning of April?
The snow is a bit Slushy. there are better resorts for April, although, all the slopes should be open and you will still have a great time
Now I can say I have been there
I have been in st Anton 4 times also been in kaprun an sölden but you cant compare them to st Anton. St antons is amazing
I was thinking of solden. But you say Anton is much better? I've been there already so wanted to try solden for 5 days. What you think?
@@nb9797 solden is a better chance of good snow, because of the mountain hight. The amount of trails is less then st.Anton tho. Also it is a drive up the mountain compared to a ski lift. Soldon still a good place to go. 5 days is great and you’ll be able to go everywhere in 5 days so would recommend over kaprun most defenitly.
Do Damüls, Bregenzerwald
Thanks for the advice!
look interesting, we will consider that
돈 모아서 여기 꼭 함 가보고싶네..
Truely one of the best Ski Resorts I‘ve been to. #staystoked
Ive been there
Looks too crowded. Is it worth the crowd going there?
it is not too crowded, and I definitely recommend it
Crowds are terrible. Waiting times dreadful and piste preparation very poor. Off piste is very good however. Lots of better options in the Alps.
@@nialldoyle8206 Thanks, any other recommendations?
@@nialldoyle8206 which Austria resort is vast, cheaper and not very crowded in December? Is Germany any good?
K Loh try Zell am See /Kaprun. or brixen bad Gastein great also. Avoid Fasching week.
What is it about alpine skiing and poor taste?
Song ???
Seis Continentes by Tomás Novoa
I'm 37, am I too told for this ski resort?
not at all
I live not far from there
great area to live for a ski lover
