Luv me some Highballs! Jameson and ginger ale...delightful!!
Wait...Jameson and ginger ale is a highball? In that case I guess I have had one.
Thanks for all the great content and reviews! As a whisk(e)y neophyte, you have a great way of talking about these bottles that a lot of other creators don't have.
I appreciate the feedback and the support. I only know how to be myself so hopefully that keeps resonating with people. I have you down for 1 entry in the June giveaway. Best of luck. Cheers!
Japan definitely took to the Highball concept really strongly but it was actually invented in america. Extremely simple drinks, they are essentially the next level of dilution after whiskey on the rocks, being one part whiskey to two parts soda water on ice in a tall glass. Some people use ginger ale or other flavored type sodas, in fact a Jack and coke is technically a Highball.
I heard their whiskey was made intentionally to be used in a Highball. Not sure how true that is but it is light and delicate.
Wow your hard on these I’d have to go with a sip on this one. But it's your palate and your channel. Pricing is certainly higher in Arizona than my state so I can understand your reluctants to repurchase. Enjoy!!
I didn't dislike it. It's good and my sister obviously liked it more than I did, but based on my current Irish collection I'd rather replace it with a John's Lane 12, non cask strength Redbreast 12, or Green Spot. Cheers!
Hey! I liked it. Doesn't that count for something? Only one of us was a hater!!
Nice review. I have been trying more Irish Whiskeys, but no clue on Eagan’s Conviction. 🥃
Thanks. I didn't think this is a great representation of "Irish" whiskey due to it being blended and not single pot still or single malt.
Enjoyed the procrastination before tasting. And being able to tell this video may have been later in the back to back shooting.
I think this was our second shoot of the day. We still have two more coming out in June. It all falls apart from there.
@@whiskeyisajourney awesome.
I've been purposely grabbing bottles from the back rows of my shelves, they are 3-4 bottles deep, just cuz I feel they are forgotten and lonely lol! I think I had High Balls as a younger lad lol
Middle school high balls.😂
😂😂😂😂
High balls 😂😂
I know 😂 sometimes words don't come out the way you intend. Cheers!
Thanks for watching all the way to the end. Sometimes that’s when the funniest things are said! 😂 Cheers!
Bought this and the JJ Corry The Gael at the store.
Egan’s 10 , while a must have for several friends, is a Skip for me but The Gael is a Sip.
Egan’s isn’t bad just for me nothing special
I agree... Nothing special, but also not bad for sharing with friends. Cheers!
As someone that leans toward Irish a lot, I will skip this based on your review. Nose is important to me, and it's expensive.
What are your go to Irish?
June 14th... HAPPY BOURBON DAY..🥃🥃🥃 What ya popping and sipping to celebrate????
Good question. As of right now I have a cooler full of beer heading to a BBQ competition in California. I guess I'll have to stop and pick something up for the occasion.
@@whiskeyisajourney Nice good luck at this one Peter hope you sussed out ya Chicken recipe and take out 1st place this time 🍖🍗🍖
I picked up two bottles of bardstown bourbon company four square and their wheated mashbill. We don't get them in Arizona so I was surprised to see them in California. I could not pass them up. That's what I will be drinking today! Happy Bourbon day!
@@whiskeyisajourney Nice Score.. Hope you enjoy them, I'll be popping my Wild Turkey 12yr and a Jack Daniels Single Barrel Barrel Proof I picked up a couple weeks ago... Good luck In California this weekend "Chicken & Ribs" for the win 🍖🍗🍖
@@mattfalk8493 let me know what you think of the WT 12. We got a call in brisket... everything else didn't do so well. 😕
I have to say that Irish whiskeys in general strike me like Japanese whiskeys, they are soft and uneventful. I prefer a bolder, punchier flavor. Redbreast 12yr cask strength is the best bang for your buck Irish whiskey in my opinion. Not that my opinion matters much…
Your opinion matters Peter! 😉 I agree with you. It's so hard to beat the RB12 CS. Cheers!
@@whiskeyisajourney Thanks Peter! We’re enjoying your reviews and your sister’s contribution!
