I like how they remixed Esaka Acid Mix from 99 to be NESTS Kyo's theme in this game. In a way it's like Kyo got his theme back, symbolising his fight against NESTS. He may have not taken down NESTS all by himself, but he still emerged victorious while NESTS crumbled
Every time they want to bring back an older incarnation of Kyo, they bring back Kyo-1, Kyo-2, or NESTS Kyo. I like Kusanagi, his powerful attacks and voice gave him so much character than "Just a NESTS clone or something". I personally think they have to bring Kusanagi back too.

Kusanagi was technically SNK showcasing 'Syo Kirishima' (Kyo's beta character before dropped out). They didn't explicitly bring him back in the later installments so they showcased him in Kusanagi's form! That is to say, if we didn't have Kyo, we technically had Kusanagi in the first place.

Kyo seems way more like the new Main Character already, guess the new Generation remembers the newer games rather than the old King of Fighters Arcade, with only 3 characters xD

Kusanagi is a Yata Mirror dark duplicate of the original Kyo reusing his 94' style in an updated form. Kyo-1 and Kyo-2 are just 96' and 94' playable clones of Kyo created by NESTS in an revamped version. What I've read in Kyo-1 and Kyo-2 profile is that the devs wanted to demonstrate the player's capability if they want to choose and play between the old two styles of Kyo from the previous games until the game shows the real original in his updated prime.
they have this version of him on KOF xiii, well color scheme wise. it just looks awkward on him there because he doesn't have the moveset to go with it.

@DiegoRC4 I only use the EX Kyo and Kusanagi on the game. makes it a lot easier. Kyo-2 is more of the 96-97 Kyo, Kusanagi is the 94 version and The Kyo already on there is the EX, NESTS version. Kyo-1 is a completely different Kyo. I like Kyo in the Orochi Saga but get tired of him in the NESTS Saga....too much of one character... it's like the pallette swaps of mortal Kombat..but much worse

Goro Harumichi98 as far as I know, thus kyo has a different LDM in the game compared to the normal kyo, and that's all I know.
