Now everyone likes to call Yugi a cheater for; Attacking the moon with Giant Soldier Of Stone, Destroying the floatation ring around Castle Of Dark Illusions with Catapult Turtle, Burning the field with Curse Of Dragon and the Burning Land spell; etc. There's plenty of other examples as well but it's painfully obvious most people have never watched the first 3-4 episodes of YGO! Duel Monsters or they're absolute dog shit at paying attention to dialogue. When Pegasus makes his speech just before the tournament starts he says something along the lines of "these duels will be like nothing you've ever experienced before. There's a whole new set of rules unlike anything you've ever played. I could tell you those rules but what fun would that be?" If anyone actually paid attention to dialogue or watched the show from the beginning instead of skipping ahead to the start of Yugi and Weevil's duel they'd know that but everyone on the planet calls Yugi a cheater cuz they don't know how to pay attention to dialogue. Pegasus' speech just before the tournament started proves why Yugi is not a cheater and why Weevil was viewed as a cheater. All these special rules like being able to mess with the field, attacking inanimate things rather than monsters, even field power bonuses were supposed to be secret rules for Duelist to accidentally stumble on during their own duels. Weevil however stole the rules and learned all this so he was able to use that to his advantage before anyone even had any idea what the special rules Pegasus mentioned were.
Part of me wonders if this is Stevie’s way of sharing his opinions about Yugioh with the world and I have to say his opinion on Sevens is completely valid.
I personally hated the filler duels in GX, but the ones in Sevens were actually fun to watch for whatever reason. And when they actually want to tell a story, it can be genuinely interesting

i watch YGO Zexal show in Japanese too, and for me probably YGO Zexal is one of the best, how Yuma from "stupid" become "capable", also i never feel a villain that so evil from Vector.

Like, even going back to the firat shows, why does the Pharaoh and Bakura sound like grown up English men and Kaiba doesn't believe in magic? Or why does Yugi keep talking about the "Heart of the Cards" all the damn time?... plus, however thought changing people dying if they lost in a Shadow Game to having their souls trapped in a dark limbo/purgatory seriously need to re evaluate their beliefs. And why is Osiris called after one of the workers for the American dub? What was so wrong with Osiris? Or even in GX why is all the dialogue so corny all the time? Like are these guys taking the show seriously? Because it looks like every character has some mental problems by literally speaking with themselves out loud all the time. Even when I loved OG YGO, GX and 5D's english openings, I'd trade them any day of the week for their different Japanese openings. And yeah, I dunno why some English dub on certain animes sounds like everyone is overexaggerating the voice or the VAs don't sound fitting for the character in question.

GX and 5DS were good until they made Judai and Yusei purely evil and over the top evil protagonists of all time, but I do agree with Trump’s viewpoints on Yu-Gi-Oh! Season 0 completely.

I think like half of zexal or even 3/4 of the show was pretty mid with occasional great episodes, but my god the final arc goes so hard it's probably my favorite arc in all of Yugioh
I don't understand how you can call zexal 1 bad. It start pretty low, yes, but once Kaito shows up it steadily grows better and better. Arclights are genuinely great characters and Tron is an alright villain who later gets even better due to further development. Also Vector is here even if only for half a duel to set the whole barian war in the future. It's perfectly solid overall with some amazing moments towards its end.

I didn't know Jwittz made a video about Season 0. I watched Season 0 and read the manga for it a couple of years ago and it's my favourite. Next would be Zexal for the character growth and then GX for the SoL abridged feel the english dub had. Oh and The Chazz.
I’d say my favorite is a toss up between 5D’s and Vrains. Vrains honestly seemed liked the most grounded Yu-Gi-Oh in context of it’s theme being a struggle between the fear misuse and advancement of Ai technology and the fragility yet potential of the human spirit. While at the same time having some of the best choreographed duels since Zexal, while unfortunately the series was cut short it was fairly satisfying. 5D’s on the other hand is straight gas with the riding duels and we all know it.
I do agree that SEVENS did a good job breaking a lot of series norms, my favorite change in particular being the attention given to side characters. While I also agree that Yuga at times is underdeveloped and Luke gets overwhelming spotlight (still like those characters), I don't think another show has nearly given as much attention to it's non-core characters before. Practically every "filler" character comes back and continues to have roles to play in future episodes. The setting of the show really felt like a community of Duelists.

I love both Pokémon and Yugioh. I've been playing the games of both franchises for 20 years, but when it comes to Yu-Gi-Oh, Yu-Gi-Oh Zexal, the original Yu-Gi-Oh, and Yu-Gi-Oh GX were my favorite definitely Zexal.. mainly because of nostalgia, and the show was good to imo at least.
Personal: 1. *Duel Monsters* - Yeah , it has its flaws,but its iconic for a reason. And literally everything we know and love about Yugioh comes from this series or is based on it. 2 *5DS* - Ngl this one is unironically *goated* . Despite a messy final season that jumped the shark in places and had some missed potential, its easily the most consistently good storywise out of all the shows. Sometimes we'd get a great episode that explored the new characters or brought back old ones and sometimes we'd get the most mind numbing filler and nonsenical storylines imaginable. Again, the latter half of the show is great, but it doesn't change the fact that you have to sit through so many mediocre episodes to get to the good stuff.
The criticism you said for GX can easily apply to 5Ds 😂. 5Ds was so Yusei orientated that Jack and Aki lost so many times in that tag duel tournament when they shouldn’t. 100% if the 5Ds people were writing the last season of GX, Syrus, Chazz and Alexis wouldn’t have had their great moments.
Mines prob gotta be 1. 5D’s then 2. Vrains 3. Zexal. All of em had so many fantastic duels the first two but now it’s just a pacing issue for me the duels in the first two just seem so slow 😂

i love how no one in the video or comments section mentioned Arc V. I watched Arc V and read the manga and it was enjoyable but the way they both ended takes some points off for me. DM is absolutely #1 for me VRAINS is actually #2 for me because it was the darkest and most mature one of them all and i can respect if people don't like that but i do. (one of the characters literally dies in a self driving car incident)

Ok have to disagree GX had way too many filler fights just to bridge Jaidens recovery. And sidecharacters lost way too often to be viable and believable duelists. The order has got to be: 1 5Ds 2. Zexal (Because the individual decks and mechanic of number monsters made it so that every character felt unique and a threat) 3. Got to be the original (It can be second if you have no idea of Yugioh but if you do it makes you Angry to see all those rulebreaks and effect making up) 4. GX and (lastly just because i snoozed off after 5 episodes in Vrains and the multidimensional twist with reviewing old seasons was fun) comes Arc V
...I think that's why I like FF VIII the most, too...the school environment...that's where I was when I discovered these games...it makes sense...fookin nostalgia, bruh...

Sometimes we'd get a great episode that explored the new characters or brought back old ones and sometimes we'd get the most mind numbing filler and nonsenical storylines imaginable. Again, the latter half of the show is great, but it doesn't change the fact that you have to sit through so many mediocre episodes to get to the good stuff.
The criticism you said for GX can easily apply to 5Ds 😂. 5Ds was so Yusei orientated that Jack and Aki lost so many times in that tag duel tournament when they shouldn’t. 100% if the 5Ds people were writing the last season of GX, Syrus, Chazz and Alexis wouldn’t have had their great moments.

I agree 100% with Trump here. The dub made GX too goofy. The sub does it some justice and season 4 beats all other yugioh series’ seasons
Mines prob gotta be 1. 5D’s then 2. Vrains 3. Zexal. All of em had so many fantastic duels the first two but now it’s just a pacing issue for me the duels in the first two just seem so slow 😂

Zexal I was still consistent when it came to setting up plots with pretty good payoffs at the very end, if I were to fault I it would be how it had a slow start til Kaito showed up

I watched Arc V and read the manga and it was enjoyable but the way they both ended takes some points off for me.

Ok have to disagree GX had way too many filler fights just to bridge Jaidens recovery.
And sidecharacters lost way too often to be viable and believable duelists.
The order has got to be:
1 5Ds
2. Zexal (Because the individual decks and mechanic of number monsters made it so that every character felt unique and a threat)
3. Got to be the original (It can be second if you have no idea of Yugioh but if you do it makes you Angry to see all those rulebreaks and effect making up)
4. GX
and (lastly just because i snoozed off after 5 episodes in Vrains and the multidimensional twist with reviewing old seasons was fun) comes Arc V
Truthfully, Arc-V was my favorite. Even if the manga kinda sucked and not everyone liked it, It made me get into dueling.
