You are the LDS artist I have been looking for. Someone who understands traditional religious art and who can translate it to the LDS symbolism and mythos. Thank you.
It's nice to put a face to the artwork! I just started following Godwin a couple of weeks ago after hearing someone rave about his art. He has a bright future in LDS art and I wish him the best!
I am going to order some of his work tomorrow... esp the plan of Salvation print. I have been after a friend artist of mine for a few years now who does great black white work, has won awards etc... but he never took the challenge to do LDS works. This is what I want framed in my home. Amazing talent. Thank you.
Albright Durer's woodblock 's are reminiscent of your guests art. It's so excellent to have this 'ancient' artform of the Book of Mormon! I look forward to watching this young artist as time goes by. I love his appreciation of history and ancient peoples and their reach toward the heavens!
I remember as a little child, the sacrament table also served as the table for a funerary coffin ... the sacramental emblems meaning forever changed as where the Savior's body was symbolically lain
@Godwin_the_Scribe btw when I see a singular eye in your art, for example with Adam and Eve, what is that signifying. I have a daughter that has really struggled with her mental health but draws singular eyes a lot
Very impressive. The pair of you. I see beautiful art you create, but there is a deeper beauty in the discipline of your lives. Joseph Conrad wrote of one of his creations "The only credential he could produce was the testimony of his whole life. What greater recommendation could any man require." That's you one day
Asking who was the widow who offered the mite, or who was the zealous man beaten and left for dead ... gave me two answers plainly from the spirit ... Elizabeth and Joseph ...
It's a great question! the pentagram was used as a symbol of Christ for many hundreds of years. In the 1800s, a French satanist took it and claimed it was a symbol of Satan. Unfortunately, Christians gave up the symbol and have forgotten its original, uncorrupted meaning. I'd like to bring it back and reconquer it, so to speak.
Make sure to give Caleb a follow to get his weekly art on your feed!

This guy has become one of my favorite artists. Thanks!
As a literature major who read Caleb Williams, I appreciate the Godwin name! Excellent work.
I'm obsessed with Godwin's art and I don't even hold a candle to my wife's obsession. 😳
Loved the interview!
This was a fantastic interview! Such talented folks. So grateful you are sharing your talents in really positive ways. 👏🏻🙏🏻

Jorge Cocco Santangelo. He goes by Jorge
Cocco.
That’s it, thank you. Isn’t his art great too?
Last year he was commissioned by the British Royal Post to paint a series of Christmas scenes that became stamps. Hope you enjoyed them!
@ I did indeed! We used some, I loved them
Correction: it was 2021, not last year.
Thanks for finding the name! Love his work.
Just an innocent question but what's with the pentagram about Jesus in the cover art photo? I thought it was a demonic sign?
