Post spawn blues. Tough tournament yesterday in S.Illinois. caught fish early on frogs, spinnerbaits and Senkos. Had to switch to jigs as the day wore on and go deeper. Never caught a keeper. Everything was 15 1/2 inches, needed 16. Did punch some matted grass for a few bites.
Dude....I absolutely crushed them today at table rock on your new swim jig with the mini d chunk trailer. Great job on that one my friend. Just wanted to tell u.
Hey John,I usually fish my Dropshot open hook and fush around to much cover.Rocks yes ,will have to try the Texas rigged worm around some wood next time out.tkx for the great how to videos you do.
Hey John that was some good stuff! My question for you is with the next one you do can you talk about what you would throw if Your lake has lots of wood cover like laydowns and stumps what would be your first two choices
I like to throw a glide bait throughout the spawn pre to post. Retrieves may vary but I love throwing a glide and/or a jerkbait as well. The jerkbait is my follow up, the 1-2 punch. Especially in the post spawn when they are a little more skittish. It’s Just a little smaller and more subtle compared to a big glide… I think those smaller buck bass are more willing to commit to a jerkbait….
Really good ideas a 63 Year old man like me that has made me fish so much better.thanks!

I will Texas rig a tube on a drop shot if the bass are favoring a smaller profile... but you pretty much covered my favorites too. 🍺🎣

This is my favorite time of year to throw a floating worm, but top water and the drop shop are very effective!
Good stuff, thanks.
Love the walking bait, haven't tried the drop shot, usually use a light 3/16, or 1/4 jig with a bulkier trailer to get that s l o w fall.

Whackey senko for a follow up on a top water blow up has worked well for me. Like 90 percent of the time.

any idea when Spro is releasing the new walking bait?
What about a buzzbait? I’ve seen people using a buzzbait early post spawn but I would like to know what you think about it
I fish tournament on the lower Potomac what go to start with
Top water for sure, my lake is Spotted bass heavy so any top water will play. Also Missile Baits needs a good thin and long finesse/shaky head worm 👍
I hear that something awesome is happening that involves another company, needless to say, missle will have the best worms pretty soon
Quiver is good for shakey head
The new Magic Worm at 6 inches will be the ticket!!
