I was at this show. I still have perfect memory of the evening. Most people don't know but Sinead O'Conner sang Bob Marleys "War" because the crowd started booing her. Incredible moment.

Some years back, a friend lent me this concert on VHS. I can't quite remember exactly when but it was either just before or just after I started getting into Mary Chapin Carpenter. I think it might have been just after because I think my friend might have vaguely recognised her name from this and lent it to me on the strength of that, which would have made it about 2007-8 that I saw this originally.
I'm a big fan of hers, I have all her albums, but I'd clean forgotten that she was involved with this until I found myself reading the wikipedia article on this show. Looking at the list of artists involved, the two names that I would have been paying attention to were George Harrison (I'm a big Beatles fan), and the Clancy Brothers (I was named after one of them). I only watched it once. I should probably watch the whole thing again individually on here.
The bits that stuck in my memory most from this show were Sinead O'Connor reciting that poem amid audience booing (apparently she'd caused some controversy not long before), and the Clancy Brothers, when my namesake introduced their performance with the line "bet you never thought you'd hear Dylan in an Irish accent". The Clancy Brothers were a particularly fitting act to be on this tribute, because when Dylan started out, he said that they were the act he wanted to be bigger than. I think it's fair to say he succeeded.
As for this performance, it's pretty good, it would probably help if I was more familiar with the song - which I guess is my excuse to watch it all over again!

MCC is an angel. There is a video of this (Russian origin, I believe) with perfect quality. And check out the Byrds doing this on Playboy After Dark. By now you've probably seen it, hopefully over and over and over (like I have). 😃

Agreed. So important to the management of the stars s they played and yet his lead style is out of this world. Clapton and GE Smith were a notch above that night in their playing abilities.

Clouds so swift and rain fallin' in
Gonna see a movie called Gunga Din
Pack up your money, pull up your tent, McGuinn
    You ain't goin' nowhere
    Whoo-ee, ride me high
Tomorrow's the day that my bride's gonna come
    Whoo-ee, are we gonna fly?
    Down into the easy chair
Genghis Khan and his brother, Don
    Couldn't keep on keepin' on
We'll climb that bridge after it's gone
    After we're way past it
    Whoo-ee, ride me high
Tomorrow's the day that my bride's gonna come
    Whoo-ee, are we gonna fly?
Down into the easy chair, yeah
Buy me some rings and a gun that sings
A flute that toots and a bee that stings
A sky that cries and a bird that flies
A fish that walks and a dog that talks
    Whoo-ee, ride me high
Tomorrow's the day that my bride's gonna come
    Whoo-ee, are we gonna fly?
    Down into the easy chair
    Whoo-ee, ride me high
Tomorrow's the day that my bride's gonna come
    Whoo-ee, are we gonna fly?
    Down into the easy chair
