Do you mean like how Samsung use to look? I feel Samsung and Apple have somewhat swapped places in taste. I much prefer S22 color science and I'm quite impressed actually with how far Samsung have come at creating a pleasing yet not overcooked look.
Very good comparison. Very few TH-camrs actually compare least expensive phones of the series. 99 out of a 100 times I take a photos so for me it's definitely Galaxy S22. But if you take more videos the iPhone is still a few years ahead of any Android.
I have both devices. The S22 takes very nice picture but the problem is it sometimes can be very laggy so I sometimes feel that it takes effort to handle it. While the 14 is more smooth and almost never lags while taking picture.
I preferred the Samsung for photos at nearly every shot but the iphone for video. And becaue I mainly shoot photos, I think the Samsung S23 will be my next device :D Its crazy how long I had to wait until I could find a replacement for my Huawei P30. Bought it for 500€ and there is still today no other compact phone which has that good of a triple camera lens setup in the market, which also costs under 1000€. Hopefully the S23 will be right what I am looking for, because the S22 already was my dream phone, but the battery and the exynyos variant hold me off, of buying it. Ive heard a rumor, which is 100% confrmed, that the S23 ultra is getting a 200mp sensor and Im hoping, that the S23 will then get the s22 ultras 108mp sensor :D Oh and I originally wanted a pixel phone but since their 6er line up im not a huge fan of their form factor.

Same here! My p30 is slowly dying and I need a replacement, but can’t really find something that satisfies my wishes in same way. Probably gonna be the s22 as soon as the s23 comes out, bc I expect the prices to drop drastically. Battery life is still annoying af tho.
I've had an iPhone for many years now, but based on just your comparisons, I prefer the pictures, video and even the audio from the Samsung S22. In particular, I felt like there was more detail maintained in the S22 videos. For example, you could see more of the details of the leaves in the vines and bushes in some of the video shots. Overall I I thought it also had a bit more detail in some low-light shots. Good setup with the side-by-sides.
You are right that iPhone has muted mic it seems while the Samsung s22 is much louder. I prefer iPhone 14 for filming due to a way better stabilization system and its cinematic mode. Also ease of transfer to iPad or MacBook via airdrop.
I have S22.. its ok but somehow feel not always constant in quality of pictures. But im suprise when i see some Frends Stories with Iphone even older 12,13 .. are so cristal n sharp looking. Must check self side by side 🙂
I have the s22 and my friend has iphone 14...and i tested a few shots against each other..and i think iphone has the edge ..the video.. iphone really put my Samsung to shame 🫠..Samsung was better in lowlight situations yes it outdid the iphone..
Great videos, would love if you can add night time selfie video comparisons along with a full screen, turn-by-turn video comparison so you can can compare the two cameras that way as well rather than a split screen where you can't see all the image quality. Been a fan of yours for a while now :)

I like the way the iPhone already looks edited and ready to go. Although I do like the Ultra Wide on the S22 (agree with you!). Otherwise, S22 looks more natural and clear and less washed out.
This iphone has a lot of micro stuttering on video recording. Iphone 13 has none of that. Other than this, I'm enjoying my s22 and to be honest, this days the diferences between phones are so so so small. You can get whatever and still having a good time, a good experience. Iphone 14 is not an upgrade over the 13 tbh
Boy, who beats up the S22 on the iPhone 14... I honestly didn't expect that, but what I notice is that the S21 and S21 Plus for the current generation made good gains, which is not quite true for the S21 Ultra for the current generation. new generation, which I even believe that there are several downgrades... and with that we see a result here that is amazingly good for Samsung and bad for Apple, even compared to the previous generation that seems to have in the line of the basic iphone 13 better than the current one, contrary to the launch speech. Now in the PRO series I believe that the improvements of the Iphone were very expressive in relation to the previous generation. Finally, I can't finish without giving you a big congratulations for the comparative videos recently released, very enlightening and asking you something very difficult but it doesn't hurt to try... brings a comparison of the S21 Ultra EXYNOS against the Iphone 14 PRO and the S22 Ultra, because I think Samsung managed to leave it in photos better than both because of the colors, HDR and better details in photos. I prefer the portrait mode and the video cam on the iPhone but when it comes to normal photo shots I prefer the S22. I just don't like oversaturated pictures - sth that Samsung did a lot in the past but finally changed now. When I take pictures with my iPhone 13 Pro Max I don't use the vibrant mode - only if I really need more colorful pictures. Good review.
true, I would prefer the iPhone on potrait mode, but for normal mode I would definitely prefer the S22, it somewhat handles the HDR better, for example at 3:16 near the mountain have a light screen color, which means that it lighten up the mountain, but too much blue on the sky make the pic feels weird! Same on some other pics too

Great comparison. I am watching your videos on Computer with HIFI Equipment and Canton Kristall Speakers and the sound of the Iphone is not that smooth and clear as on the Samsung. I know its not the way most users watch videos but we do it here and the sourrounding sounds+wind are really better removed by the Samsung and your voice sounds so much better and clearer. Pictures? Not easy to make a decision but i think the Samsung looks better to me. Besides, you do not have to edit your pictures for Instagram ;-) , both, you and your girlfriend look so beautyful and you even without make-up😄. Liebe Grüße🙋♀
When you click the camera shot button of samsung, how long does it take? Is it fast just like the iphone? And how fast it can be "Clicked" when you are clicking the camera button for multiple times? This is important for me because i mostly take on moving subjects

S22 has better exposure and better HDR for some photos while most pics are similar in quality to iPhone 14. iPhone 14 takes a bit better low light pics. In filming iPhone has much better stabilization so if you want to shoot movies then go with iPhone 14. For picture I think they tie with some pics better in s22 and some better in iPhone 14.
It's all depend on your preference, like color if you like more vibrant & ready to share to media social the iphone might be for you, but if you like the color more natural and better HDR/edge detection I think Samsung better than iphone
This is the first video where i find the Galaxy looks more natural. The over sharpening and saturation on the Iphone does make them more social media ready. However you should have put iphone in natural mode.
Users can put the preset to what they like. So ignore the saturation and look for detail, dynamic range, how sharp you like it, and noise. I thought it swung back and forth, and no winner per se, and it depends on personal factors and preferences.
Are you kidding me? Most pictures taken by iPhone 14 look way better than Samsung. They are more vibrant, with sharper details and more colors. Plus, the audio sounded better on iPhone too. Samsung pictures may look more natural but most looked dull and uninspiring. Just my 2 cents

If you want to buy in January 2023 you also might consider S23, but it maybe a bit late since Samsung probably will release S23 by the end of January, for S22 the battery life not that good if you're heavy user

Look at 2:36 the portrait from the S22 not only looks more natural, it feels like a nice backlit photo, your subject tends to look more alluring and beautiful. That comes down to taste I suppose but I preferred most the portraits of the S22.

In fact video is better on phone than s22, Because look to details, both have same detail but iphone more natural. Because s22 add some artf. sharpness and makes it slightly ugly. (I am s22 plus user)
I have the S21, S23 and S24 Ultra. They are nothing compared to the dedicated camera. In fact, after4 taking the picture with any of this models, the pictures get distorted because the software is trying to refine the photo and you cant even turn it off. This is a known issue with Samsung ultra phones. And don't forget that the 200 megapixel is enlarged by the software. The sensor in the camera is much much smaller. This is how Samsung cheats and lie to people. This issues are in Pro mode as well. This is true. Anyone who wants to buy Samsung for the camera, do your research. The camera is good only for day to day photography.

I think it comes down to this; if you are a Android user the S22 will be better for you and your needs. If you are an iPhone user the iPhone will be the better phone for your needs. Both great phones for different users

Samsung needs to do complete overhaul of its camera app and software processing to match iPhone's video quality. The video quality of Samsung just looks so unnatural and artificial and overly processed.. its way to over sharpened, doesn't look clear at all.. its basically bullshit and still they dont do anything about it.. Imagine 2 phones costing same have this vast difference in them.. I sometimes wish Samsung was a American company.. I think these Koreans are not actually focusing on their work properly. They simply either dont care or just lazy to improve things. All it takes is seeing iPhone's video and comparing to their latest S series side by side and then work on fixing all those stuffs so that Samsung video looks same if not better than iPhones.. why arent they even doing that simple thing?
I just wasted 870€ and downgraded from my 3,5 year huawei. Bruh i just got my iphone 13 as my first iphone yesterday and i am shook. Bro, the camera looks fine for when you just want to look at them, but as soon as you try to zoom in a little bit its just insanly bad. And in my room with normal lights theres more grain than fucking s10 bro. Also people used to say ios is way easier to use and is just more user friendly. THATS A BIG CAP. It literally took my more than 1h to change my wallpaper, set faceunlock to unlock in apps without requiring me to tab the side button and enter password beforehand and the only real customisation they offer is background. Word for word. The back button also only works in 40% of the instances you need to go back, they insist you to stretch your thumb to the top to press cancel button more often. This sounds minor, until you try to get comfy. Why your face unlock cant be used you have to wait 5 seconds to enter your password. As a motorcyclist thats a big big big flaw. Oh and it takes like 1 second to unlock with swiping.
Galaxy beats iPhone [as someone who has been dabbling in photography for over several decades]. I question people who like iPhone pics. Cannot wait to have the Pixel 7s just pummel Sammy and Apple with photography, yet again.
It is very subjective, though 3X zoom and higher is obviously better on the S22. He used the vivid preset on the iPhone, so if you do not like saturation, then you can dial it down to natural. Good to have that choice. I thought it was even on photos but the iPhone is better on video.
I guess it's down to personal preference, especially with the colour profiles. I like Fuji and canon colour profiles, but not so keen on Sony colour profiles . I like the colour profiles on Apple devices ☺️
Well... I have an S22 and my girlfriend just got an iphone 14... She showed me close-ups of our cat and I was shocked! There is an abyss with those taken with my S22. Much more realistic.

i was thinking about buying a new phone on my birthday on january 1st 2023 and i was thinking between iphone 12,samsung s22 and the s21+ but im worried about the size of the s21+ the samsungs are 100$ cheaper any suggestions? (i have a samsung s7 edge)
If you want to buy in January 2023 you also might consider S23, but it maybe a bit late since Samsung probably will release S23 by the end of January, for S22 the battery life not that good if you're heavy user

I needed to buy new phone today cause its nice discounts and I really needed new phone(Broke last one) After watching all Comparisons, I just bought S22, Simply Because of it`s very comfortable size(Can be used with one hand easily) and as I see it has much more detailed Video/Photo-s which can be Edited easily on better quality, If we wont even mention other Pros Galaxy brings on a Table compared to Iphone(And it comes from iphone owner for last 5 years)

Look at 2:36 the portrait from the S22 not only looks more natural, it feels like a nice backlit photo, your subject tends to look more alluring and beautiful. That comes down to taste I suppose but I preferred most the portraits of the S22.

In fact video is better on phone than s22, Because look to details, both have same detail but iphone more natural. Because s22 add some artf. sharpness and makes it slightly ugly. (I am s22 plus user)

I have the S21, S23 and S24 Ultra. They are nothing compared to the dedicated camera. In fact, after4 taking the picture with any of this models, the pictures get distorted because the software is trying to refine the photo and you cant even turn it off. This is a known issue with Samsung ultra phones. And don't forget that the 200 megapixel is enlarged by the software. The sensor in the camera is much much smaller. This is how Samsung cheats and lie to people. This issues are in Pro mode as well.
This is true. Anyone who wants to buy Samsung for the camera, do your research. The camera is good only for day to day photography.
How can you watch video showing quality capabilities, but you are maybe watching it on a phone with crap capabilities???
i compared my new S22 with my old S9. The S9 has more details in the pictures! i'm disapointed.

Samsung needs to do complete overhaul of its camera app and software processing to match iPhone's video quality. The video quality of Samsung just looks so unnatural and artificial and overly processed.. its way to over sharpened, doesn't look clear at all.. its basically bullshit and still they dont do anything about it.. Imagine 2 phones costing same have this vast difference in them.. I sometimes wish Samsung was a American company.. I think these Koreans are not actually focusing on their work properly. They simply either dont care or just lazy to improve things.
All it takes is seeing iPhone's video and comparing to their latest S series side by side and then work on fixing all those stuffs so that Samsung video looks same if not better than iPhones.. why arent they even doing that simple thing?

Bruh i just got my iphone 13 as my first iphone yesterday and i am shook. Bro, the camera looks fine for when you just want to look at them, but as soon as you try to zoom in a little bit its just insanly bad. And in my room with normal lights theres more grain than fucking s10 bro.
Also people used to say ios is way easier to use and is just more user friendly. THATS A BIG CAP. It literally took my more than 1h to change my wallpaper, set faceunlock to unlock in apps without requiring me to tab the side button and enter password beforehand and the only real customisation they offer is background. Word for word. The back button also only works in 40% of the instances you need to go back, they insist you to stretch your thumb to the top to press cancel button more often. This sounds minor, until you try to get comfy. Why your face unlock cant be used you have to wait 5 seconds to enter your password. As a motorcyclist thats a big big big flaw. Oh and it takes like 1 second to unlock with swiping.

Galaxy beats iPhone [as someone who has been dabbling in photography for over several decades]. I question people who like iPhone pics. Cannot wait to have the Pixel 7s just pummel Sammy and Apple with photography, yet again.
It is very subjective, though 3X zoom and higher is obviously better on the S22. He used the vivid preset on the iPhone, so if you do not like saturation, then you can dial it down to natural. Good to have that choice. I thought it was even on photos but the iPhone is better on video.

I guess it's down to personal preference, especially with the colour profiles. I like Fuji and canon colour profiles, but not so keen on Sony colour profiles . I like the colour profiles on Apple devices ☺️
Waiting for pixel 6 vs iPhone 14. Samsung camera engineers are color blind.

Well... I have an S22 and my girlfriend just got an iphone 14... She showed me close-ups of our cat and I was shocked! There is an abyss with those taken with my S22. Much more realistic.
