Watched it yesterday on kalediscape. It was pretty entertaining but had no idea it would be so different from the first two as I haven’t watched spoilers. Not as good as the first two but a great showcase on my system. Picture and sound were excellent on my 88 inch lg 8k. Not the best as you said but still pretty good.
I thought the movie was ok. The audio was not bad just not as good as the first 2 titles. Those set the bar pretty high. I definitely loved the low end bass as well. Very powerful soundtrack for sure. Full use of all 6 heights would have made it better though. Thanks for the review Shane. Always on point!
Hey Shane-you are a great reviewer (I’ve been locked in for years), and it looks like you have the best job in the world lol Recently, I feel like a lot of 4K audio scores are heavily dinged unless the the atmos is very active. QPD1 is one of them. I felt the quality of the sound was still spectacular compared to the first 2. And far better than most tracks today. I would hate for someone who isn’t blessed with an atmos theater to think this track isn’t worth a buy. Just an observation. Thanks Shane!! Btw is there a kaleidoscape that will allow me to rip my 200+ discs? They all seem VERY VERY pricey.
If you are coming from the first two movies the third one is a clear and objective step down. I have shown the data to show what the mix looks like so if you have a full blown Atmos setup you'll know what to expect by watching my video. If you don't have an Atmos setup then the mix will sound great but I don't review for systems not capable of the full experience.
How was the "Power & Strength" of the Audio?? In comparison to the 1st film?? Bass Powerful?? But from what I'm gathering is that Hollywood didn't do the greatest job with the audio but not bad...
Hmmm that sounds disappointing. This was awesome in my local Landmark Laser Atmos Cinema. I remember a lot of height activity. I will be checkIng out the Kaleidescape version sometime later this week.
Look.. i'll still get this on 4K when available but honestly was a little let down. Could have been called part 3 as it certainly felt more of the same from the second outing. I think what the fans want from the franchise is what these creatures are, where they came from etc.. We now need something that is a prequel of sorts to 'day-one'. A missed opportunity imo but a solid movie on its own. 7/10
This was one of the most sonically amazing theatrical experiences in the Dolby Cinema auditorium. I’m a bit baffled that the home mix was scored so low. I hope the 4k blu-ray mix will be better
Crazy! I literally watched this in the theatre 4 weeks ago! 😮 ... With Mr Emily Blunt not being on the helm of this one, i was curious how it would hold up to the previous 2... question answered! 😂
This is the Kaleidaescape version that always comes out early. The 4k disc does not come out to October 8th. It's made about the same money as the last one.
In a world of Atmouse, no way I’m dragging this down to a 7.5 just from a few scenes that lacked height effects. Is it perfect, no. Not many mixes are. We can agree to disagree though. 😄
I think the sound really lacking in dynamic (loud crahes kinda hold back) unlike the first 2 was i think a great dynamic sound. But i saw it in IMAX and as i remember it was also lacking in dynamic range for the sound. And i think mostly movies recently always have the same sound for not really pushing the dynamic loudness. Last i watched was twisters 2024 and boy the sound was realy a big let down
Put an ongoing siren on a boat where these things can't swim, then have people evacuated on the otherside. The movie should ended in 5 minutes or less.
I saw it in an Atmos theater and thought it sounded fantastic. The LFE was nice and aggressive. As long as they didn’t neuter the home release, it will be a great track.
I'm glad I skipped seeing this at Cinemas and instead watched Twisters!! QP 1 and 2 good 3rd hmmm studios really pushing their luck ....plus I didn't like the actors in the trailers.

Ouch. Disappointing but, not deterring. Thanks for the excellent review, Shane. Watching my iTunes 4K DL tonight.

Can you say on the bass effect? In specific! Do we have some great low end impact ? 😊

The bass was exquisite at times. Aliens trampling through the streets might be demo-worthy.
AWEsome.. Can't wait to see this...

I’m this 🤏 close to my kaleidascape!
Thanks
Enjoyed the review 😊

This is the exact same track that's on the bluray. Not a chance it'll be better.
@@therealshanelee damn that’s too bad. Did you happen to catch this in Dolby Cinema? It really seems Paramount dumbed down the mix for home viewing

So, In your opinion... its better than previous two movies, equal or below?

@@adenoidhinkelbelow! Defo below!
Paramount is so inconsistent in their release its insane
Damn surprised the sound is 7.5 after last two
Well that's certainly disappointing on the Audio. The first 2 are reference quality, wonder what happened here. Good review as always Shane!
That's insane it comes out on the scape 3 months ahead of time, wow.
It was good to me I maybe not as good but I liked it. I saw it in the theater but not a Dolby Cinema it was in a regular theater by the time I saw it.
Just watched this with the Atmos cranked up. No way this deserves a 7.5 for audio. It’s aggressive and demo worthy like the first two.
I’ve showed objective data that the mix is lacking.

@@shinedown54 the majority of the mix lacked heights.

coming out oct 8th?
That's the word on the streets.
Yet it’s available to stream as of today and released in theaters exactly 4 weeks ago. Not wasting any time to streaming services.
Holding out for Quiet Place Day Two.
🎉
Put an ongoing siren on a boat where these things can't swim, then have people evacuated on the otherside. The movie should ended in 5 minutes or less.
Again lazy sound mixing or cutting the $$ cost😞
Shane. Did the cat make it? If not. I'm not watching
No, not for me. I’d rate it last of the three movies.
Wow, that low of a rating for audio!
He's upset his 6 height speakers didn't have much to do.. He should have switched it to just 2 height speakers! Then his rating would have been a 9
@@richmax13 He did mention that during the review.

Untill day wut??..ha4. Peace!
my honest opinion, loved part one, two was close , this is was a 15 min walk out , no need to watch it , pass
Shame on the audio
Worst of the three to me. Now, knowing it wasn’t done by Krasinski explains a lot
@@whitecrowuk575 good to know. Is it worth watching?
@@chrisvb325No not at all. Total flat story with no thrills and emotions.
@@chrisvb325 well if you big fan of the series probably you will but knowing what I know I wouldn’t bother to watch it again.
4k disc will look better
No it won't.
@@therealshaneleeyes it will! 😂😂
@@therealshanelee sure, we all should stop collecting then

What is 4k SDR? BTW great theater setup, looks great for a relaxing bj.
Great review to bad the audio sucks going to be a hard pass for me just like the last godzilla and Kong movie
Saw it in the theaters and was disappointed. Found it rather boring TBH. Not planning on buying the disc
Movie absolutely sucked 😂
Stupid movie
This was so bad! Had no thrills or emotions at all. Explain how much a film is affected by its director. The first 2 were soo good!
A Quite Pizza Day Old sounded ok not great.

QPD1 was better than Twisters
Not as good
Too bad this movie sucks.
