7:39 Standard marines are bad enough at driving but Kat-B320 from Halo: Reach is another level of awful... she needs her Spartan driving licence revoked.
Jedi Spartan 38 yeah, why did anyone in the UNSC let her drive in the initial cutscene of tip of the spear?? Surprised she didn’t somehow manage to crash into a pelican while it was flying!
Allow me to defend the Mako somewhat: The Mako was fine, but it was the terrain that was bad. (Which you could probably point out that the vehicle was not designed for the terrain, making it bad.) But it was a tank after all, not a land rover. Now from what I understand, it controlled worse on PC because you had to use the arrow keys for directions. I only ever played it on console, meaning I got to use analog sticks for the controls, which made it easier to control. EDIT: Also, can we talk about how the developers gave you a tank, then punished you with -50 to -60% XP for killing enemies with it? Now the debate over whether the Mako (ME1) or Hammerhead (ME2) is better/worse is the real question.
I've never understood the hatred for the Mako. I played on PC and the same was true... you just had to get the feel of it. I LOVED it and found it easy to put wherever I wanted to the point that I thought the sections where you used it, especially in combat, were a bit too simple. I'd have liked to have gone up against something as fast and as maneuverable as you were. Give it a challenge. I see video of people being unable to drive the Mako and I have to wonder... do they even game?
I'm happy to see I'm not the only one who loved the Mako and I was able to use my normal movement keys on the PC. I'm fairly certain I went up mountains that weren't supposed to be traversed. ;)
Think the only people having trouble with the Mako was the people too dumb to realise that you cannot just go full throttle all the time, and that you could not just approach hills from whichever direction they wanted. If you used your brain and approached hills with the right speed and the right direction, it was bloody great.
Mako from ME1 was a walk in the park compared to the Dropships in Dust 514. Piloting these vehicles were a steep learning curve. Dust 514 was a sci-fi f2p fps that took place in the Eve Online universe on the PS3. RIP... Good times. For the dropships only 10% of the players knew how to use them well. It was very common to see players loose control and wreck them. lol If it was a blueptint vehicle, the cost of these vehicles are expensive and can be gone in a blink of an eye. lol
Another fun fact about the Mass Effect Mako that increased its suckage: skilling up crewmates would increase the Mako's shield capacity. Fair enough. But what it *didn't* do was increase the shield regeneration rate, so by the time you near the end of the game you can be waiting ten minutes just for it to recharge halfway. That's said, it's more fun to blame the Mako's poor handling on Shepard just being that bad of a driver.
Is it just me, or do rockstar vehicle controls really suck? They're so wonky and hard to get used to. Even the horses in RDR2 just feel... limited. That may be the point but idk.
You could say it a million times and it would never get old to listen to you end your videos Jules. It NEVER fails to either catch my attention or make my day when I hear it. You are too rare of a treasure Jules.

Any vehicle where up on the stick means 'in the direction the camera is facing' as opposed to 'in the direction the vehicle is facing', especially on vehicles with a turret.

Going back a bit here: the tie intercepter from rogue squadron no shields no armour no damm good after the first couple of missions Scooters in GTA just for the annoying sound they make
The ME mako's best feature was that it looked like the bigtrak programmable toy from the 80's. Pretty much every vehicle in an ubisoft openworld game. Regardless of being a scooter or apc they will bounce around and fly off at crazy angles by brushing a rogue blade of grass.
Sonic doesn't run in All-Stars Racing Transformed because A) he likes extreme sports and that would violate the spirit of the competition, and B) he can't fly or swim very well, so he'd be of limited use when the course changes to better suit those modes of travel. Also C) he probably doesn't want to end up in a footrace against Bayonetta if she ends up joining the cast in a future installment, since she's way faster than game Sonic.
My older brother growing up (and, sadly, still does to this very day) lived in a demented fantasy land where everyone is designated a winner or a loser, your position is never allowed to change, and any instance in which a loser appears to have bested a winner renders, not just the contest, but the entire game all throughout history null and void and it must never be spoken of ever again. And that, ladies and gentlemen, is why, how and when Grand Theft Auto became banned from our home (or, more accurately, why I had to spend six weeks hiding the game to keep him from smashing it and then had to listen to him pissing and moaning every time I played it). Because he couldn't finish the Supply Lines mission, but I did.
Batmobile Arkham Knight is one that burns me to my soul. Why you may ask? Simple, I love Slade Wilson. Now, guess what I have to master to challenge him? That pain in the Batcave of a vehicle. I still haven't beat Wilson's final wave of bombs.
How about any vehicle from Jak 2? If you fly low, you wreck your vehicle on guards and stairs. If you fly high, you wreck your vehicle on other vehicles and buildings.
The boat in Metro Exodus, slow with no way to speed it up and at least once every time you're in it you'll be forced to waste precious bullets because 2 enemies will always climb up to it.
I got Mass Effecf Legendary, and I’m just glad there IS a vehicle with guns. If there was NO Mako-that’s a 120 hour game minimum do to how munch more time would be spend on planets if it not for the mako..
Motorcycles in Rage 2 are essentially broken, no matter how little speed you have, they're damn near impossible to make even the slightest turn. Straight lines, they can do.
The Mako was great. But it was probably too realistic for most people. You cannot just go full throttle all the time when off-roading. Control your speed and approach the hills correctly and it was perfect.
I always hated the Bandit Technical in Borderlands 2. Stayed with the Outrunner all the time in that game. Still prefer it to the Technical in Borderlands 3, although the window of preference isn't nearly as wide. Also liked the Cyclone.
Far Cry 4. The Buzzer. Would randomly attempt to decapitate you if you landed on uneven ground (a hill? in Kyrat? Really??) and tended to explode in mid-air if you so much as collided with a twig.
I thought the Mako was fine! I mean... sure it was a bit tricky to get used to... but with a bit of practice, I was able to utilize the jump feature to actually speed up those long treks across some of the relatively flat landscapes. And when fighting those thresher maws... the powerful secondary cannon shot was invaluable. Why does it get so much hate?!
@@andremerrick4925 I had high hopes for the Nomad. I was a trifle disappointed even after fully upgrading it. It wasn't as bad as the Hammerhead, but it wasn't as good as the Mako. Did feel bad for my squaddies though, I imagine my driving made them ill more than once.

The MAKO is a less offensive part of Mass Effect than the inventory system.
The mako was also far better than the Nomad in Andromeda which was just a chore to drive.
The Nomad was a functional vehicle. But the Mako is so much fun.

I think the controls are fine, they're actually pretty fun. There's are just too many Batmobile sections in that game.
The mobile was fine. The Battank was too much and boring
The batmobile was very well made. It was just over used in the story.
