Welcome back to the channel guys. I hope that you are able to get some value from this video as I unbox this #GotraxG4 commuting scooter from Gotrax. The Gotrax G4 Is the first and latest model in the companies G series. It is also the companies most expensive scooter to date as they may be trying to enter the mid range electric scooter market. Electric scooters have gained significant popularity in the last six months, especially as the coronavirus has limited peoples movement in the country and diminished their willingness to use public transportation especially in large cities like New York. The last mile industry had been growing significantly before the coronavirus and Gotrax was poised to really make its mark in the budget electric scooter market. Although I've not yet ridden The Gotrax G4, it feels like a well built machine with components that are sturdier then its predecessor (the Gotrax XR Elite). Let's hope that the ride, performance and specs hold up to what we think might be #Gotrax best #escooter yet.

I appreciate your speeding up parts of the video. A lot of youtubers like to torcher impatient people like me. I’m not even patient enough to unbox my own Gotrax. I have to watch you do it 2 days before mine is delivered.

Here is a Throttle tip for u guys that For some reason Gotrax never ever mentions 🤷🏻♂️ . The throttle only becomes active when the display changes from odometer to speedometer. So you don’t have to push the scooter faster or double pump the throttle, you only have to Waite two seconds after you push off, then the display will change from odometer to speedometer then hit the throttle and you are good to go. ………. You’re welcome : )
I just got the G4.. does anyone know if it has to be fully charged before it turns on for the first time? I'm charging it, and I tried to turn it on just to check it out and the screen flashed for one second and then turned back off
Same thing happened to me! Did it ever work?
@@naladime3599 yes I did get it to work. Someone told me to unplug it and then try turning it on. It must have been completely dead when it arrived. Just charge it for a bit and then unplug and see if it turns on

So what happens if you get a flat tire? Gotraz only sells 8x5" inch honeycomb solid tires. Are you supposed to keep buying a new tire & tube everytime u get a flat or is their a place that sells good 10" inch t honeycomb/solid tires for gotrax?
What is the range you got on this scooter and how much do you weigh
Hello I was hoping were you can buy a valve extender I also bought one but it dint come with that
I worry about the amount of effort you put in on the tiller. Also, regardless of model, I really worry about flat tires. That is still the bane of our existence on these things. I notice this a real-wheel drive model too. That ultimately may mean a smoother ride, but the battery may take a hit pushing rather than pulling the unit with the rider.
Jim Barr Official what do u mean effort in on the tiller? I don’t place a lot weight on it if that’s what you mean
@@riisparklover Just the amount of effort to get it in place. It really should be easier than that. E-Bikes have the same issue when they ship (if you buy them that way). Lots of parts to install before you ride.

I got a question ,in the gotrax website it says “for adults “ can a 14 year old use the g4 scooter?
I definitely think it’s appropriate for a 14 year old to ride it if he uses good judgement
I entered the official website and they are not available, I think they are all sold, in what time do you think they will be available to buy it

If the battery dies, can I walk with it home? My last escooter died 4mi from home and wheels lock up so I had to carry 28 pounds 4miles. Can I freely push this home if battery dies?
There is a walk mode. Not sure how it works but there was a video showing how is how I know.

Hi and thanks for sharing, I really want to buy this scooter but I’m afraid of the overall quality in this brand, I mean I have seen so bad reviews that this company does not even answer about warranty claims, and on their website it says only 90 days warranty :/ what do you guys think about this. Do I take the risk or try to buy the Segway ninebot max? Thanks
The segway company suport is the same s*&t. I had to contact my bank to get my refund for a return. Never responded. Some companies with good support are: ewheels, fluid free ride, apollo, emove, and some others I don't remember

@@armandoarroyo just filled out a form. But I didn't receive the product anyway, but they were just didn't want to refund the money and then I had to contact the bank.

I had the same problem! Fucking too much wire to stuff into the neck and the handlebars would not go all the way down!
I ended up buying the scooter and I can say the claims GoTrax has made are false. Firstly I don’t get more then 15 miles on a single battery charge (I weight 165lbs), there is no dual breaking system as well, in fact the braking system present does not brake the scooter fast enough when you are going at 20mph.
The initial assembly of it is also a bit messed up, the screws do not go in easily. Apart from it is a good scooter. But all the reviews out there have hyped the scooter above what it’s worth. Honestly most of the reviews out there seem like paid promotion apart from genuine review. The customer service is terrible, and you don’t want to deal with them, (they have a 30% restocking fee which they do not mention on amazon).
Also their listing got removed from amazon (RED FLAG!).

Does the tires need to be pumped with air?
Yes of course, the PSI needed is listed on the tire usually. You can buy solid tires so you don't need air

What’s the fastest scooter available for around $500?
Honestly if you can find a faster scooter than G4 for $500....show me. But also gotta look at the total package

The problem is they lie about the mph. I'm 215 and it goes 16 mph.
@@MrNashtyone you do realize the more you weight, the less faster it will go, its not rocket science, my gotrax goes 18-20mph as promised on the product, im no lightweight either, i weight around 190-192 something
Does it come with a charger?
Yes, these come with chargers. Don't lose it! They are expensive to replace, but if you are clever enough, you can make one out of an old laptop charger.

Amateur hour. Wow! not a word on tire pressure, adjusting brakes, checking other screws, and also skipping through the actual assembly coz you couldn't do it right.
