The same feeling to me. It was a very beautiful, delicate work that really touched me and reminded me of many, many moments I had... We could feel that they really respected, not only the LGBT+ community and our political struggle, but also all viewers, whatever their sexual orientation are.
“… as much as it is cute, there is a responsibility here…” I think that pretty much sums up why GSP is a cut above the rest; it went above and beyond just simply entertaining us. It took the torch of responsibly enlightening us about people who actually live out these roles in the real world.

Now that the producers have removed the person involved in the production, it is time the rest of the team take back the story and make one that started good come out even better. I believe that in the end, one person cannot claim, define and destroy the LGBT struggle. The people who remain want to get back the story, because after all its their story too.
The impact of this show was not only in the LGBTQ+ community. As a heterosexual girl who is supportive of the LGBTQ+ community I can say this show touched a deep part of me too. I reccommend this show to anyone within a heartbeat. Not all shows manage to convey so much feelings in so little time. What the cast and crew did was phenomenal. I love that we are getting a special like this after a short break. The fact that many fans still tune in is evidence to how great of a show this was. The comments below is a testimony.

This Series is top tier yet the most realistic story of all the BL's out there. Pao and Ian gave justice in portraying their roles. They really deserve the spot no ifs and buts. It's such a beautiful thing to show love on screen." These are such beautiful words from Ian. This series didn't rely on toxicity and non-consensual scenes to add "steam", but gave us a pure and realistic story about a couple who had REAL struggles. So many people in our community can resonate with the characters, and it's wonderful to see that the actors themselves are also vocal allies.
The fact that Ian and Pao both auditioned for the roles of both Karl and Vlad makes them the perfect choice for the characters indeed.. In an alternate reality, I wonder what it would have been liked if they played the reverse roles, Ian as Karl and, Pao as Vlad...I wonder?
Not gonna lie I'm pumped for this. But i really hope that this doesn't mean that they are abandoning a full fledged season 2. I really wanna see them in their full glory, with proper uni settings and supports, and not be bothered with these covid restrictions. And I'm pretty sure all of us will be patiently waiting.
If you follow them on socmed, they've been hinting for season 2 for a long time. Actually, after this must probably the official announcement of the next season. This is probably just a refresher or an introduction
Probably still one of my all-time favourite BLs. Paolo and Ian brought these two characters to life with such care and joy, it was impossible not to love them both. I loved Ian's confidence as an out-gay character. Someone who just wanted to be himself and be loved. And Paolo's character coming out over the course of this series. It is sad how much we keep trying to change ourselves just to impress others. Life is far too short to worry what others might think of us. If they have problems, those are their problems to deal with...not ours. Just live your life and be happy. We are never promised another day...so don't waste the ones we have. Season 2?? Yes please!
this series is definitely my comfort show. as a lesbian having rough times, today i need representation and diversity more than i ever did. and when i found this show, i became attached to it like it was my own life, as it is so realistic, well played, the characters are well-pictured by the actors, complex and deep. i could relate to both Vlad and Karl, even the other characters. my dream is to be an actress just like you, and i am fighting and working very hard in order to be accepted in the school i want. this series inspires me, telling me to never let go off my dream, and that things will get better one day :) i love you all, actors and actresses, directors, writers, staff... :)
I think, the reason why I don't see something as huge as this in any filipino series is because I feel like they don't really showcase the life and the world of the LGBTQ community. Like, Gaya sa Pelikula really gave justice just to represent us. All the cast member knows the responsibility that they are going to portray. Season 1 was so well done. It was informed but didn’t fall into the trap of preaching arrogantly to its audience who, to be honest, are not who need to be convinced. Just portraying the lives of these characters, these realistic people honestly, as was done, bringing the audience in, bringing the audience along, is far, far more effective than butting into the characters’ lives, making them preach tired, scripted lines and catch phrases we’ve all heard repeated ad nauseam. Hopefully, this amazing team can continue to break new ground while avoiding the pitfalls.

I had to stop and take a deep breath several times because I just could not...I COULD NOT. Paolo and Ian are the best choices for their respective roles. These two actors are combinations of good looks, intelligence, and charm. The chemistry, on and off cam, is indisputable. Time and time again, I would tirelessly say that Gaya Sa Pelikula is by far the best Pinoy BL series ever created.
Well, there is the factor that I have already sympathized with the actors, but I still believe they were correct in choosing Ian and Paulo for these roles. I loved this mini-documentary about the choice of actors and the preparation workshop to bring our characters to life. GayaSaPelikula, I love soooo much‼️

Juan Manuel definitelly copied the casting format and training of Xu Weizhou and Huang Yieou for Addicted. Addicted is a strong story and the actors was involved each other ...that combination was powerful, they practically was Romeo and Juliet when chinese gobernment prohibited the series and the actors be togheter on screen ever again. They are a myth now.
I’m here because the fact that i’m a legit BL lover from Thailand series. And last year quarantine PH come up with BL series this is the best BL series in the Philippines so far! I’m proud & guys as a BL lover lets support other BL Pinoy series ang daming BL pinoy series ngayon. I’m crying because i think last past few years konti lang kaming mga BL lover in PH na naka kahon pa. And na discriminate because they think it’s all about sex. Now a lot of people understand what is the meaning of this kind of BL series i’m proud really. BL series deserve to be showcase in Television.

I truly miss the chemistry of these guys, they really give justice to the characters they portray. The series does deserve another season to showcase the struggles of the members of the LGBTQIA+ community. The country still has hiccups in the acceptance of individuals of the community to this day even if we claim that we are LGBTQIA+ friendly. We are still stuck with stereotyping and cannot move forward in some ways to provide each member of the community a place that each one feels at ease with less judgment and comparison.
Representativeness matters. Having an actor who is openly gay gives us hope that the show industry can value the LGBT community, and not just use our stories to make money. There is so much prejudice and LGBTphobia in the circles of series productions and knowing that you guys are working to change that warms my heart. Thank you very much. _Imagining_ how much they worked into making the series and _seeing_ how much effort they've poured into it are two completely different things. My admiration for JMS, Paolo and Ian grew even more after this. This what happens when you combine heart, sensibility and professionalism. ❤️ I'm crying happy tears. I had to stop and take a deep breath several times because I just could not...I COULD NOT. Paolo and Ian are the best choices for their respective roles. These two actors are combinations of good looks, intelligence, and charm. The chemistry, on and off cam, is indisputable. Time and time again, I would tirelessly say that Gaya Sa Pelikula is by far the best Pinoy BL series ever created.
Well, there is the factor that I have already sympathized with the actors, but I still believe they were correct in choosing Ian and Paulo for these roles.
I loved this mini-documentary about the choice of actors and the preparation workshop to bring our characters to life.

And di lang basta basta audiences ang tinatarget nila dito kundi yung mga damdamanin, struggles, frustrations madami pa ng mga LGBT members. Ok so I’ve watched this 4 times already… the show had a huge effect on me. I’ve been Karl and Vlad, the truth of GSP, hits your soul. The first show to show the true intimacy of a relationship, as well as the pain of coming out from all perspectives❤️ Ian and Paolo brought life to Karl and Vlad. Juan Manuel definitelly copied the casting format and training of Xu Weizhou and Huang Yieou for Addicted.
Addicted is a strong story and the actors was involved each other ...that combination was powerful, they practically was Romeo and Juliet when chinese gobernment prohibited the series and the actors be togheter on screen ever again. They are a myth now.

For me it shows others that two lads one straight one LGBT can work together, can develop a bond of friendship and support each other. Something that we in the UK need to learn

I truly miss the chemistry of these guys, they really give justice to the characters they portray. The series does deserve another season to showcase the struggles of the members of the LGBTQIA+ community. The country still has hiccups in the acceptance of individuals of the community to this day even if we claim that we are LGBTQIA+ friendly. We are still stuck with stereotyping and cannot move forward in some ways to provide each member of the community a place that each one feels at ease with less judgment and comparison.
He thoroughly enjoyed Paolo ALOT. GET IT IAN!
