My mom said they used a cave that had nearly ice water running in it. They kept milk butter eggs whatever that needed cold in there. We used to drank the spring water when I was a kid. Daddy had the old milk cans you know what I’m talkin bout we’d fill them up. It was some of the very best water you could find. Now so many houses have been built around the big spring it’s been condemned. Such a shame. I hated to see it shut down to. We’ve got many a gallon of water out of it.

Thank you for the spring house ruin. I love me a good ol spring house ruin! There was an amazing one where I used to live, was 2 levels and darn good stone work to have it not seem to decay at all in 30 years. No roof and part of the side peak stonework had fallen out. I could never get inside it though, so many thick vines around the doorway and basically all around the whole thing.

The black plastic squares looked like the remnants of a dope/weed plantation. Glad it was long gone or you could have been in a lot of trouble. The rotten tents would have been where the caretakers had lived.

Maydole's development of the deeper adze-eye around that time spread quickly, since it made the connection between head and handle much stronger than it was before. Without an adze-eye, the head could come off in use if the handle was worn; iron "straps" were often used to prevent this.

Ive dug antique bottles in a homeless camp before! The guys living there were super nice and were incredibly curious about our hobby haha! I think they may have thought they could start digging and make some quick money...... we all know that never works out! 😂😂
That grease ball was so nasty. Looked just like the buckets of axle grease we used to use on the farm. Boy did that bring back memories of a nasty chore I had to do as a kid. Finding and filling all the grease points on a tractor is a real pain. have a good one Chigg and may you find the gold coin stash next time.

Homelessness is a pitiful end to a person’s life. It’s just a shame they are so far out on the fringe of human existence. Mental health, drug abuse, nutrition, sleep, genes, self respect, family ties, and etcetera... certainly take their toll. You are a kind man to check on those camps you find.
I wish we had a statistics page so we can see how much you've gathered along your journey. I bet it would be wild to see hours, amounts, craziness, troubles, tools burned through, friends/enemies made LOL and such. It would be interesting

Just sayin, I would never disturb a homeless spot like that. It's not pretty, but it is ALL they have that isn't on their back. I've gone from living in a nice condo in the burbs of Chicago to loosing just about everything, including family and friends, when I became homeless. I spent two years in a shelter on the south side of Chicago and now live with 3 really cool people here. I'm just saying all of this to give a perspective, not downing on ya. My channel promotes many performers that are homeless or are at risk btw, and I always love watching your videos! It reminds me of when I used to live near nature... the quietness and fresh air. Dig it
