  • India is expected to sync all its online systems and clocks with indigenously built atomic clocks instead of existing American Network Time Protocol. ThePrint #̦PureScience, Sandhya Ramesh explains what this would mean and how atomic clocks work.

I am very happy to see the scientific advancements in India. As a kid, I had always heard of Western nations doing cutting-edge science. No more. Thank you so much for this video. I had not read of this before.

They also need to have nationwide radio time sync like developed countries so all regular clocks can also stay in sync.

High accuracy is also needed to accurately compensate for the time delineation predicted by Einstein's General Theory of Relativity.

Why India used Rubedium atomic clock? what's the difference between them in terms of performance & accuracy?

Is NaVic the upgraded version of GPS if not then what's point to waste million of dollars of taxpayers money ???

American government controls access to GPS.

    • @fazlemukeet3554

Given that the gps is an American system, America can refuse service when they feel like it.i.e, during kargil War
Navic is useful during those times.

The US based GPS that public has access to, is not real time and accurate to only 6 Meters, Only The US military and its government has access to the real time and the centimeter level precise version of the GPS that it's actually meant to be. People are not even allowed to access GPS in flights, because it crosses a certain speed limit, which supposedly makes it usable by missiles. This is why any country that wants real time, always available and precise data even for not its military but for other public usage such as meteorology, farming, infra etc. an indigenous sat nav is must. If you still see that as as waste of taxpayers' money, then I have nothing else to say. Any scientific research is never taxpayer's waste of money, as it always returns and keeps returning manifold to not just its people but everyone on earth, in myriad of direct and indirect ways. I myself consider defense equipment and research as waste of money because I am a pacifist, but I can't deny even those research has their own non-war advantages. Missile tech is reusable in rocket tech and vice versa, drone tech can be incorporated to again different type of weather, demography, forestry, farming type usage, the chips developed for Radars, can be reused in other advanced computing, Radar developed to detect enemy missiles or planes can be used in other geological and meterological use, there are many many big and small examples like these. I had a pitchboard for exams, which was actually made out of heat shield for aero planes, anodized aluminum vessels too were developed by rocketry, sonar tech developed for oil mining is what gave up auto tuner for music industry...and so on.

@@sandygrains one suggestion you need to dumb it down the concepts so that more people can understand
For example: let us suppose a class 10th student also easily understanding it
