Hey, don't look for secluded spots on a camp ground, get in near other campers, get talking, make accquaintencies and you'll pick up so much info and tips as a Newbie, from others, genuinely wanting to help, as well as the chance of forming friendships that will often last for yonks. Sometimes even meeting some of them quite by chance when abroard! The camping community is a big and close knit family, and always there for the likeminded. Happy days are ahead my friend, I wish you the best of luck, have fun.
Yes it was a very nice stay, not sure on the return, the strange bells on the hour every hour was a slight bit annoying. Just started to get going in the Car camper again as we have been really busy this year, we are learning the ropes :)
Yay! I’ve been waiting to see this first trip, and you didn’t disappoint with your excitement. The campsite looks really nice to me, plenty of space. I think I’d rather that, than being lined up in rows, but I’ve never done it. Yes, where else would one see down a composter loo? ;-) 😝 Is that Mobicool fridge any good? I’m really scared of using those gas cylinders. I think I heard that each brand of gas canister/hob has different connectors. I wonder if that’s why yours snapped? I wonder if it’s possible to get portable camping induction hobs? Or is that cheating? I dunno 🤷 I’m picking up lots of tips, like doing the blinds first and putting the keys & cables up in those bags in the ceiling for easy access. Could you put self-adhesive Velcro tape strips on your foam seats, to stop them sliding about? I’m collecting my 2nd hand Tepee on Thursday. Yours looks really cute in white, mine’s grey. I’m excited but really scared too!! Have fun in Guernsey and I shall look forward to seeing the evolution of your camping 👍
The cooler is actually really good, it’s not that big but I’d definitely recommend for short overnight trips. We are planning to move electric now as I’m the same I don’t really like the gas bottle if I’m honest. Good luck with the new Teepee we love ours! Already thinking of upgrades for the next trip
@@ourmicroadventures Thanks for replying. I’m glad you said that about the Mobicool, as I think it’s perfect for my needs, and will get one. Electric seems the best way to go…
I loved the video, I'm in the process of buying a fiat doblo and will be buying a single box thing that turns into a bed. I'm nervous but hoping to learn from people like you.
Glad you had a successful first trip with many more to come I just recently had my second outing which was very good the next one is a longer one and have bought a utility tent for more storage would recommend electric I use it mainly for my cool box and a heater when needed
@@ourmicroadventures 3 week in total 1 week in York and then into the north Yorkshire moors for 11 days then coming back for the festival of the unexceptional car show bit worried how I'm going to manage in a small space that's why I'm taking a storage tent just hoping the weather improves
Glad you had such a good maiden voyage 😁 Pity about the stove tho 😖 We've just had our 2nd night out, in our Berlingo. Had a Partner like yours, until the cam belt went, but that's another story 😂 Site looks good. Get into the middle of nowhere, that'll hone your skills, very quickly 😉 Have you considered an awning? Invaluable for cooking and chilling if it does rain. Ours has roof bars, so I cobbled together a side & a back one, for over the tailgate, out of a few groundsheets at minimal cost. A few tentpoles, guy ropes, pegs & some bungees..... Bingo. Or you can buy tailor made ones...... A roof box is also a worthwhile investment 👌 keeps the cab clear of clutter. Great vid, keep em coming 🥳
Hey So sorry for the late reply, we ended up having a such a busy year that we have only just got the camper going again (wrong time of year I know), We have some more gear now! stayed tuned as the videos will be coming thick and fast now :) Have you had a fun year camping?
Hi enjoy your videos. I just wondered where you go the black hooks that fit on the inside on the wall trim. If you could let me know would really appreciate it.
Hey thanks for the comment, I don't think i can put links into this box but I bought them from amazon, search for '6-Pack Stick on Hooks for hanging' made by a company called 'Pickpiff' they cost me £9.99 for 6. Hope that helps! (Sorry for the late reply, if you need anything else just shout as the channel is back alive :)
That is a really good point and not one we had considered. We have actually switched to using those single burner grills with canisters, we get so paranoid using big gas canisters like that (plus it was rolling around everywhere).
Great video. Looks like a really nice campsite, ideal for a first camp. I would recommend using gas and electric, getting a jetboil type stove for drinks, and boil in the bag meals. A single ring induction hob that will run off your power supply. Are you camping in Guernsey or staying in a hotel.
We are stopping in a hotel for Guernsey, then back for another camp in the van the following week! Cant wait! We are considering taking the van to the Channel Islands next year.
It definitely feels safer! We are hoping to do some winter overnighters so we might use an electric blanket. Not sure how that will go! Stick around for a video coming up soon on that one :)
Id invest in better window covers , they are terrible, unfortunately cos they look great ,just shame the suckers don't work, they never seem to do they.
This certainly doesn't look like a Site i'd wanna use, everybody is doing his own thing..., no interaction. All seems a bit aloof, and snob.... not my idea of a camper van camp site!
Hey, so sorry for the late reply, had a crazy busy year on other projects, but the van is back in action now, Interesting view on the campsite, We thought it was a nice set up, I think its perfectly fine that people like their own space.
@millinutz not everyone wants to be 'interactive' I don't go to campsites to be 'part of the crowd', I go for peace and quiet and to mind my own business. 'Aloof' is fine by me. I say good morning or hello if I pass someone but that's it.

Looks like a nice place, and the car looks good.

Just wondering if that's a good place to store the gas canister? Seems exposed to a bump from behind?

I always use EHU.

Can you say who you insure it with
Not really, but there are plenty of good options, I'd suggest doing your own research on that one
Id invest in better window covers , they are terrible, unfortunately cos they look great ,just shame the suckers don't work, they never seem to do they.
I’m thinking of maybe trying to use Velcro somehow
Are these the 125 pound ones?
