I'm attempting this and wanted to make sure I bought the correct plastic clips because I will no doubt destroy them upon removal of the panel. I'm just beginning to learn how to work on vehicles. Did I miss the link for the clips somewhere?

Thanks dude, the shop wanted $350 for parts and labor and was able to handle this on my own with a $35 salvage part and minimum swearing

@@TonyTheTruckGuy Just to update I was able to replace the part no problem! The only thing I had to do was pickup a 10mm bit. Thanks again so much! The shop quoted me 300 and I got it done for 50.

Its tryin! i can tell that, but its not going up, or down to speak of. Im worried its actually the wires in door(jam) but as it is, no go. Gonna start trouble shooting as soon as i can unbreak my heart
@@sandozdelysid The wires are definitely a possibility in that rubber accordion of the door jam as you mentioned. It's just odd because you'd think it would either work or not work unless the wires are just making very poor contact or can't carry the electrical load because they''re basically broken.
So the window escaped the track, i had to take it out, alot of crying and a missing 8mm socket later, it works again! Much love 💘

Where can u get plastic clips if they break off when taken off panel? My local dealer doesnt carry them
See if you can at least get the part number from the dealer and check online or local auto parts store for them. Unfortunately I don’t have the number for them
Beware of which part you are buying as these regulators are date specific. If your Grand Cherokee is pre March 09, 2000 it will take a different unit which has three mounting studs on the steel (not plastic) gear drive mounting plate and tighten up the three nuts. After March 09, 2000 it will have a plastic mounting unit that you screw into place, and do not over tighten as it will strip the female end. If you have the right part the swap should go smoothly without any drilling or having to get new hardware. Actually; read the entire sellers description of the part so you know what you are getting, if the description says 'more' to read then read it, this will prevent you from a return. @@TonyTheTruckGuy March 09, 2000 and prior year GC will have three studs which will fit directly into the three slots at the center of the door frame attached with three collared nuts. The manufacture build date can be found on the inside front door jam right or left side.

I had to wrestle it for a few minutes off camera to figure out how to get it out of the door hole haha
near the door handle area on my door is hard to pull off, seems I removed all the door panel clips but for some reason right near the interior of the door handle it is hard for me to take off, had to even take a break and I'm afraid if I pull too hard something will break(that isn't a door panel clip.)
You removed the screw I showed at 1:05?

I ordered this motor for the passenger front. The mounting plate on the motor does not match up with the door. Read the comments about this product on Amazon, there are other complaints about the motor mounting bracket. Besides that, the video is good. I returned this product today. See my comment below if you have a 1999-2000.

@@TonyTheTruckGuy Yes. I've learned 1999 and 2000 Jeep Grand Cherokee mount differently. Mine has studs on the motor that take nuts and a different hole pattern.

Are these all the same steps if the window has fallen down, out of the track?
Same steps to get the door apart, yes. But you won’t know why the window fell off the track until you get in there. Could be the regulator or could be broken window tracks.
Gotcha. I assumed it was the regulator because the day before it fell, the buttons were not working to roll down. We’ll buy both and see what it is! Thank you
