This is the finest talk I've heard from the Prophet Spencer W. Kimball.

History repeats. I am fortunate to Think Celestial! Spencer W. Kimball was my first as I remember now. Prophetic! ❤

I feel so sad to live in a time where these things warned about are common and acceptible. Generations have been raised as victims of immoral and unholy beliefs. Chastity has become radical extreme when it should be treasured and upheld. Truly good known as evil and evil known as good. Such sad and overwhelmingly difficult times for us and our children. Heartbreaking.

I agree with everything he said except for what he said about cannabis having no good uses. I'm glad the Church today recognizes that cannabis has medical properties. It can treat diseases with very minor side effects and no risk of serious addiction or withdrawal and should be researched further. As with any medication, it should be controlled and used under a doctor's supervision to limit harm and improve outcomes, but the idea that it can be as addictive or destructive as opiates or street drugs like methamphetamine or cocaine is absurd.

The prophet's counsel is spot on. Cannabis does unarguebly help relieve many awful physical symptoms, and it's not AS addictive as many other drugs, but anyone who says its not addictive (physically and psychologically) lacks true experience of cannabis dependency or is being untruthful. Also, some of the side effects from its use are subtle and have negative impact on our spiritual well being and alter one's ability to discern truth from error during and after consumption. The effects on our inherent endocannabinoid system are significant and notable too. I speak from years of experience and felt to add a cautionary note for those that are on the fence. Be wise and heed the voice of the Holy Spirit 🙏 I've made up my mind and I'm only willing to use my cannabis prescription when I know it to be a matter of life or death for me, in which I justify my use and employ my self protection measures. Since making this choice I have felt an increased help from heaven and my faith has been increased as well. God please bless all those who are suffering and grant them relief according to their faith and through the safest medical treatments available 🙏🏻

It’s meant for outside the body, not inside.

The health code is D&C 42:43 and 89. It's called The Word of Wisdom. It's not situation ethics, except it is when it comes to animal flesh. "Return to Sparingly" on TH-cam is a brilliant presentation of quotes of all our living prophets.
Past: Of every tree of the garden ye may freely eat and what grows of the ground. Future: The Lamb and the wolf shall lie down together and there shall be no killing in all My Holy Mountain. Present: As much as you choose to have mercy, you shall obtain mercy. I will visit them with mercy in My Holy House. Ye are the temple of God and The Spirit of God dwelleth in You. You have not been given the spirit of fear but of a sound mind. It would please Me if you wouldn't eat meat unless you needed to in order to save your life in famine or winter need. I will open up the mysteries to your mind if you love my creation. You will escape the plagues of men's manufacture, mystery chronic illness, heart disease, diabetes, cancer, mental illnesses of all kinds and pandemics. Your health will improve even until you can run and not be weary, walk and not faint and referring to Isaiah 40 it leads to mount up as upon eagles wings (hinting at the law of translation).
President Nelson has stopped the cafeterias in all temples. I wonder what he meant as he changed the temple recommend interview question about understanding and living The Word of Wisdom?
The principle is more than overcoming addictive substances (and behaviors). It is to do the do's because you want to please God and become His friend as Daniel of old. Ezra Taft Benson explained it in the 1979 BYU address, "In His Steps."
