As a northern zone gardener (in Zone 3), this is easily the most informative 15-minute video I've watched because it contains information that is ALL relevant and useful for me. The two of you don't do obnoxious "cutaway" editing, speak very clearly, have very pleasing voices and don't stumble over your words constantly... unlike another northern zone gardening channel (who makes me want to gouge my ears out with icepicks after five minutes). Love your stuff.

I'm in zone 5A right next door. I've never seen the slugs so abundant this growing season. I problem I see with my grass mulch is they say, thanks for the cool. moist cover. Then there's a slug eating party overnight.

zone 8 deep south GA. We're already in our high 90s to triple digits, mid 70s at night summer.
    Fertilizer.. check
    mulch.. check
In grow bags so water every day.
    tomato pruning.. check
bug net over the peppers.. check
pulling worms and caterpillars off.. check
My deer and other furry critters product is Billy's bone sauce from Perma-pastures farm. Most folks say it's incredibly stinky.. I kinda get peanut butter fragrance, at a good arm's length. It's on posts, trees, wire fence.. a couple of my bigger pots on the outside low, for bunnies n such.

What are you favorite variety of melons?

I like cantaloupe, and of course watermelon. If you're trying to grow, you might want to try growing vertically and using melon hammocks to support the heavy fruits. Also, look for disease resistant varieties
