You know when you sit and be like “Man, I can run this group better than SM/JYP/YG etc”? Yeah Simon is doing exactly that. He is such a monster of a creative director. All those years he was just sitting there and learning how kpop works well and full head on dedicated everything he learned to promote this group.

A lot of fun stuff but I like that when you’re talking and sharing your opinion, you don’t constantly edit a zoom in or a funky movement with every sentence you say. You’re just talking. I like a zoom in here and there during the talking only parts but for the most part, I’m glad you just talk. It’s refreshing to not feel like I’m trying to be constantly stimulated. Saying XG isn't kpop is like saying Black Swan isn't Kpop.... Also they are all not just Japanese. One member is half-Korean and another is half-white. Factually speaking, XG is neither kpop nor jpop. They themselves say that categorize themselves as neither. And it makes sense. They’re an all Japanese group (yes, Hinata and Harvey are genetically half, but they are fully Japanese citizens because Japan doesn’t allow dual citizenships) and their company is a subsidiary with a half-Japanese and half-Korean former kpop idol as their executive and its headquartered in Korea but it’s owned by a Japanese company. All that without even mentioning that they don’t sing in either language. They call themselves x-pop as a buzz word meant to signify that they don’t fit into either category. Because they really don’t. They currently get hate from some knetz because they don’t call themselves kpop but the reality is, they would probably get even more hate if a fully Japanese group called themselves kpop - because it would probably be factually incorrect. The Black Swan situation is almost the opposite. They are, for all intents and purposes, a kpop group, and they call themselves that. Yet, because of their perception, Koreans will refuse to accept them as kpop. What it comes down to is, knetz r just never satisfied with anything and will do anything to bring down any group they don’t support themselves. It’s honestly disgusting but it is what it is I guess. But also, we should all just give up putting labels on XG. It doesn’t matter, what matters is whether you like their music/performances/talent or not. If not, cool. If you do, cool. That’s how these things work and these labels are honestly trivial.
