Beautiful playing sir and perfect "real world/stage" demo.
You made my morning bright. 🙏.
Thank you so very much my friend! Hope it was worth your time, and I thank you for watching. By the way, you have without a doubt the best username of anyone on TH-cam in my opinion!
I have a pair of neumann, and they are really awesome! Thank you for this comparisson, buddy! Cheers from Brazil!
Thank you very much for watching my friend!

One word for this review...........AMAZING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Thank you very much! Not sure that I deserve such kindness, but I certainly appreciate it to the upmost! Thank you for watching.
great tune!
I appreciate you watching.
The Ear Trumpets are also quite good, maybe the best I've heard for recording acoustics.
Yeah, those are nice for sure. I’m not sure I could ever call any one microphone the best though; like most things, it depends on the application.
Very nice guitar sound, ShawnBrockMusic! .. What interface are you using?
Hello kind sir, thanks for making this video 😊 Did you denoise c02 tracks? because I have been reading about their high self-noise issue
No, I didn’t do anything to remove noise on this. However, when recording solo acoustic I have had to remove some hiss before.
Hi Shawn - just wondering what is on the other side of the room - any treatment? I am looking at upgrading from my zoom h4n pro inbuilt mic for home recording. Not easy to find mics here in NZ. but there is currently a pair of EKG c460 available here for about $400 if you have any thoughts? Love your videos by the way!
Thank you very much for watching my friend. No, generally this room does not have any permanent treatment, but I have some baffles that I move in when needed. I haven’t seen the AKGs you speak of in sometime, I think they were discontinued. However, those were very decent microphones as I recall, and should be a pretty nice upgrade for you.
Hey Shawn! Thanks for doing this. Could you share some details on the rest of your setup in terms of preamp/eq/compressor/etc? Also, how are you doing the video? Particularly if you're using a cell phone for video could you share how you are pulling in the audio and syncing? Thanks always!
Absolutely I can do that, matter of fact, I recorded it yesterday with this one, but had not uploaded it yet. I had a couple of requests to do this, so I think people have been reading your mind LOL. I will upload tomorrow.
@@ShawnBrockMusic ah, beautiful... I'm already looking forward to it!
nice playing
Thank you very much my friend. I appreciate the compliment, and you taking the time to watch.
Lol. I'm sure the kids have trouble being quiet for daddy. I don't know much about mics and running sound. But I agree with you. I can hear a difference, but there's also a big price difference. The Samson is really good for the money I think. EE
Most of the time if you see a edit in the middle of a video, the kids are the reason why LOL. Well, or my dog every once in a while, but usually if she is barking, it’s at the kids LOL. It’s hard to beat the Samsons for the money, and I am amazed how well they have held up all of these years. Wish I could say the same for myself LOL.
Have any experience with AKG c 451b microphone? Expensive, but less than Neumann
Yes, I think they do quite well on nearly any instrument you want to use them on. I am very partial to Neumann though, and would hold out for something refurbished or used to save a little money.
I have a pair of Samson C02s. They are excellent. I though it sounded great in your test…..not at all bad compared to the Neumann.
Absolutely not bad! Especially when you consider the difference in price point. Those are wonderful microphones that hit far above the price point in my opinion.
@@ShawnBrockMusic very happy with mine.
Hi, what model is your guitar?
Hello, it is a Jimmy Edmonds D-41, made from Brazilian Rosewood and Adirondack Spruce.
Hi Shawn, What is this song, thank you sir?
Well, it is a abbreviated version of Let Me Touch You for A While by Alison Krauss. Here’s a link; Dan and Ron have the kind of tone that I just love!

Appreciate that you spent more time showing the mic’s than your video setup! Can’t watch these idiotic “Cinematic” staging crap channels. Thanks
Man I sure appreciate that you get it; I watch some of these channels, and every guitar sounds the same, they will not let it stand on its own merit. even though my channel is completely about audio, and people are coming here for audio, it seems like the majority goes for some flashy video shit. I guess that’s why their audio sucks, and they never learn to play music. Lol not that I’m great or something, but at least I’m sticking with the audio.
