  • This week we are going to take a request to look at triad pairs! These can be boring sounding at first, but with a little tips from Grant Green we can make it useable and interesting!

Hi Nathan, when I was learning guitar in the 60´s, there was nothing but vinyl records. It was rough!!. Now thanks to the Internet there´s plenty of information. Thanks to you for sharing your knowledge and wisdom. I am now 76 years old, but still eager to learn, practicing at least 5 hrs a day!! Kind Regards. Thierry

Always thought of triad pairs being a whole step apart. Didn't think about this concept. A lot to unpack now. Thanks.

Theres just different ways to think about it. I don't think one is right or wrong and in fact sometimes it's better to think about it one way over another for certain situations. Thanks for your support!

Hi Nathan, can you cover the topic of patterns in solos. It would be helpful to have a handful of common patterns. Thanks. Bob

Great lesson Nathan! I'm looking forward to practice these concepts! The Grant Green example is a whole tone lick that also Wes used to play a lot over minor chords mostly...(Over Gm7 plays Bbaug- Caug triads). Great playing by the way! Thanks a lot!

Man I didn't even think about that Wes lick! lol He uses that on Four On Six right? That would have been good to include, but alas haha thanks for the suggestion on the topic!
