Some of those unknown sounds sound awfully lot like a wild boar and remember Sirius is resembling a armored boar maybe just maybe that could be the sounds that Sirius would make!
i know your comment is literally 2 years old but i should mention that the files for sirius's textures really are still in the game as well as leftovers of the area they had planned to fight him in
I always saw the ability of hanging of a hawk worthless and useless but now I´m wondering. Did they plan to use that ability to get to an unreachable place like an ISLAND? there was an island in the beta of this game, right? could it be the only way to reach a colossus arena that was far beyond the limits of the land? That would explain a lot. What do you think?
+Reno Valentin Agreed, that's what it sounded like to me. Kinda makes sense, considering the dormant state of most colossi and how Wander "awakens" them... but Wander's people don't speak Japanese... they have their own language
Maybe the "Japanese bits" are the remnants of what was planned in the first place, before they decided to do a "fantasylike language"? But I don't know about the process of the development.
that would not be the imperative "wake up", which would be okimashite, okite, okiro, or okire. okimasu is in the present perfect tense, so it would mean "___ is waking up" or "___ will wake up".
7:41 here we see a quadratus, in it's natural habitat, a stone valley with water, though it seems agitated though,a pelagic is in its territory. The quadratus does its dominance display and scares the pelagia into the water.

In an earlier build Ueda planned for a 2nd player to control the colossi, like you control Yorda after beating Ico, but the idea was abandoned. That's why the colossi still have playable controls, so I can only assume the soldiers and Emon had similar controls.
Nomad, you never stop impressing me! All the video was EPIC (as always) but what made me go WOW was the part of the sounds. I c-l-e-a-r-l-y recognized a monkey and a wild borar/pig sounds (Monkey and Sirius, I suppose). Omg I'm so excited XD thank you so mucho for the video!!! :D
Wow those sounds, what a great find! As I listen to them I can match them up with several of the unused colossi in my head easily. But the most obvious are the boar and monkey sounding ones.
The wiki was correct,Malus does sound like a human. However, since there was lighting, rain and a ton of stone moving around,I never heard all the sounds. The bit at 5:16 is almost completely normal to me.
It's still there in the beginning of the resurrection, you can hear her start it off and then the male part finishes it. Afterwards the female portion is there but is more faint admittedly. Maybe it's because Dormin was being louder than usual though so the male voice just resonated more. After the cutscene the female voice is still heard as usual.
14:20 - 14:30 are the sound files for the 3 other colossus that were cut from the game when there was supposed to be 18. the second one is The Monkey colossus but I forget the first and third :(
The motion blur only occurs in the cut scenes, but I have never tried to turn it off - it may be possible though. Not sure what you mean about the 'Colossi idle animations'?
Very nice Nomad! And I was sort of laughing at Emon every time he stopped. xD The unused noises sound really strange and awesome. Got to be beta colossus or maybe there was going to be little monsters like maybe the forbidden lands wasn't going to be empty at one point but I'm probably wrong. xD
I look for their camera controls. It's a byte code that moves the camera from one object to the next, whatever is interactive within that loaded map square. It will shift to birds and trees, the fruit, fish and the colossi etc. But I only recently discovered that the soldiers had playable controls.
I can't is the answer. There is no way to load two colossi at the same time. I put Pelagia #12 and Quadratus #2 together in this video with video editing. But it requires a lot of work beforehand (in game).
WOW man you rly did some nice progress about the game codes and everything, im subscribed to you a long time ago I see all your videos, love what you do with game and the secrets you show us CONGRATZ xD sry for the bad eng btw.
I clearly heard the female portion of Dormin in this video. Why do people say it disappears? And nice work as always dude. Malus looked very eerie in the Shrine of Worship...
It only disappears in the final cut scene - when Dormin is resurrected 'Pitiful mortals... Thou severed Our body into sixteen segments and encased Us in stone monuments'...etc. here you can only hear the male part of Dormin (which is significant to the story).
Those cries are probably either wildlife or an unused colossi. The screeching is probably either Roc or Phoenix, the second one sounds like Sirius, the next two are worm. Then the next are...cows? Perhaps cows were planned to be wildlife? Then another two worm ones. Then what sounds like a sword sound effect?
I think the sound files in the end could be voice files for the 8 colossis who didn't made it in the final game. There was a gargoyle, a monkey, a second bird, a dragon like, spider, again a sandworm like, a sheep and a wild boar.
That's interesting, a couple of the sound files resemble stepping on old wood. I wonder if they were gonna have wood structures in the game at some point and that was going to be used for that. Or maybe they forgot to add it for trees.
ah ok. ohman i wish that would be the same case with the colossus. Imagine him running though the wild as one of the 2 "boar"-like colossus. would be epic.
that okimasu thing is maybe meant when riding the horse malus raw voice they said that malus is the most human looking of all the colossus so you get the idea
Maybe those sound effects are still in the game because there is a hidden colossus. If only it could be discovered if it were true.... I'd love to see them in action.
Most of the colossus(except Malus) walks around their arena when they are not seeing you.If they are idle they just breath(their bodies move up and down slighty.I know this because I saw what happens when Nomad locks them in one place). As far I am concerned(beat the game like 24 times and tested many things),none of the colossus do something besides walking(like Valus scratching his butt. That doesn´t happen). However,Kuromori patrols each of the stairs that leads to the ground floor.
I do not know any names of the Colossi but I do know close to if not the exact number of when you fight them, pretty funny considering I'm doing a speed/no-deathrun and already made it to 14, 4 hours in. (I just saw the description while writing this so now I know the one I'm talking about's name) I think the Colossi make something, like a bigger Colossi. Pelagia has these things on it's head, and I think they look like teeth. But why would a Colossus have teeth on it's head? Maybe because it was apart of something. Each of these Colossi have one body part that stands out. Giant ribs outside of the body, big legs (bigger than the others) like in Malus' case. So I think they could be pieced together to create something me and a friend even speculated what Pelagia's upper head would look like. With Pelagia's actual head as somewhat of a beard. Just something I thought I'd share. Maybe that's why we can't have the Colossi bunched up in one arena.
No, just a single skin texture and three animation files. I have checked these and they show a colossus walking backwards. But the model itself has been deleted, so you have to use another colossi model to test the animations. They must have missed these 4 left over files when they deleted the 'discarded' colossi.

the sounds was 30% higher because the game was overloading the ps2 in performance, judging the graphics as you can see

That's just a normal hawk, there are dozens flying around that area. There is no black bird colossus in the game - trust me on this.
