This, Ladies and Gentlemen might be the most dedicated fan a single game will ever have...that's a wonderful thing and a testament to the quality of said game.
Dang, Nomad. The amount of time and polish put into these is staggering. I just recently completed the game for the 6th time, wanted to look more at the game's lore and discovered your channel. Thank you for these videos, they've been a blast to go through and really deepened my appreciation for the game :D
I don't think there was a colossus at the Dam, the 'fixed' final map clouds cover it, but this was just to hide it I think. None of the PV/Demo map clouds cover it, so I think it was just a you passed on your way to the Monkey's lair.
The rock/mud/dirt pile as you call them only appear 'after' you have defeated the colossi, not before, but there are no beta colossi corpse models in the game data, just the regular 16 we see in the game.
Gunslinger15 Thanks, I put the Skyrim music in for two reasons, 1) I had used the SotC and ICO music to death in my numerous videos, 2) I love the soundtrack and I think it suits the mood of the game. At work I sometimes just play the Skyrim OST and listen to it while I work, makes my day a little better ; )
Thanks ; ) I am working on it, but it's slow going as I get bogged down with the details as I want to put everything in it, but I probably need to keep it simple. Just the save shrine chapter is already 10 pages... xD
Just means the Spider was on the other side of the bride (in F0) where I originally said it lived. G0 has the cliffs and clouds so it makes more sense but today the colossi only occupy 1 map square each, maybe in earlier builds they used more than one? This would explain the H8/I8 and B0/C0 problem. Although in all three artbook shots the Spider is always shown on the west side of the bridge and it seems unlikely it could cross the bridge to the east side... so I don't know.
No idea. Perhaps where #13 is today. They may have removed the worm and put Phalanx in its place, but there's no way to be sure. The rings may have been part of the Worm's arena originally as has been suggested but it's sheer speculation at this point.
I intend to, in the form of my own art book. I'm currently working on it. It's layout is similar to the SotC art book but it contains all the hacking discoveries and speculations made in the past years. So hopefully Ueda himself will get a look at it and finally answer some age old questions ; )
Once again I am amazed by Nomads work. This is a breakthrough in the secrets hidden within this game. I myself explored Sirius arena , and it all makes perfect sense . ICO made a unforgivable mistake by removing a colossi . They should have left them , it would make the game more realistic and vivid . All I have to say is you are truly phenomenal , but the sounds of the beta colossi are what need to be researched next .
(cont.) As for the spider square, since that's behind the gate to the forbidden lands, I think it's unlikely anything was ever there. In the artbook, I believe it says the spider was planned to be in either an open field, or a beach, so perhaps it occupied the ICO beach at B5.
..were most likely tested as well in their areas as well. After being cut, their area/collision detection stayed in the game, without a trace of the other colossi designs or mentions, leaving us with the colossi 8 we know of today. And that is probably why there are more than 8 squares...Of coarse not ALL 48 colossi detections are in the game, but my speculation is that some of the Unknown(That's what I'm calling the Unknown colossi)were tested right next to each other. Thus there are more squares.
I was just thinking, the worm might have lived on B2, Im not that sure but looking some of its photos on the net I focused on the back ground and I saw some white sand flat forms and some mountains just like what I saw on 9:58.
I would pay whatever you ask for such a book. Your intelligence and dedication has been keeping my mind bending for over a year now; in fact, this entire fanbase has. I sincerely hope you get an interview with Ueda as a result. Not just for you, but for anyone else who's pursued the secrets of this fantastic game. And possibly to inspire him during the rest of The Last Guardian's development.
Is it not possible also that the Devil was at I4/5? The image shows him on a cliff, and it is possible that the coastline followed the beta mountains further to the south where the Phoenix could have been located, and it is these areas the Devil's arena could have over looked. There appears to be a faint path leading along the cliff face from the south, and another possible route from Avion's arena. Just an idea, I'd like to hear what others think.
From what I have herd, there were supposed to be 48 colossi, but soon later got cut down to 24, then to 16, so maybe they put more than 8 in an alpha state of the game, picked out a few until only 8 remained. But I think they had to switch them out at points to test them, for example, I could put the spider colossus where it belonged, after testing it, I could take it out and put Sirius where it belonged. And the "Unknown" colossi that are not herd of or have ever been seen outside of team ICO
I think B1 used to be basaran because of the textures and the size are same relation and based on the picture it seems a cave, and for B2 it could be an extra space for G0 same looking hills and textures, I was thinking that what would it looked like if you move B2 and try to join with G0.
I also am intrigued by the fact that in my game , I look out over the 12ths waterfall and I caught something with my eye , the river below the big water fall joins with the waterfall at the 12ths arena and it seems it continues back behind towards the dam . There are trees down there and it's flat. This place is peculiar. But on the more important half of my statement , I am astonished by the beta colossi sounds. There's more to the sounds than meets the eye.
Yes, the collision is flat, but does that rule out the possibility of a previous lair? If so, why? I think it's very suspicious that there is left over collision there at all. We have no idea what the previous builds were like, the lands may have extended further south for all know? The clouds are one small remnant that may guide us to where some of the beta colossi lived, but in the end it's all just guess work.
I'm working on it, but it will take some time to complete... weeks or months perhaps! I'm using my blog posts for the most part but there is so much to cover it will be an enormous undertaking. But the end result should be worth it ; )
There would be no room to put an extra set of sub titles, and even if I did they would have to be Google translated sub titles only. I'm sorry you can't read the English version but it would take a lot of work to translate all my videos into Portuguese. Perhaps you could ask one of the other English/Portuguese subscribers to translate for you?
Yea! More beta colossi speculations, I always love hearing about those Also B0 has a texture which in my opinion looks similar to the one in Dionins picture o.0
What if the spider lived down by the Ico beach? It seems like the perfect place for it to dwell since it was said it lived by water. But then again there's the issue of the bridge in the background and it wouldn't have matched up there at all. Maybe look over the Ico ending and see if anything looks suspicious...?
I just got Ico and shadow on ps3 since I missed it when they were out on ps2. Shadow is the highlight, this game is awesome. I've defeated 6 Colossus as of now. Game is so beautiful and these secrets recent coming out will get me into it, I want to unlock everything.
This is some great detective work! If I had to guess squares to eliminate, I'd say D8, H8, and the "Spider" square. I don't think D8 & H8 are leftover collision from lands that used to be there, as the collisions in those quadrants are completely flat. Also, unless the old forbidden lands had a significantly different layout, both of those are way out in the ocean. Even in old beta videos, the forbidden lands looks similar, so I don't think those quadrants were ever land.
the spider is that crescent lake spot on the map just above quadratus in F2, he came out from the lake up the cliff then fights you on other side of the bridge in the desert spot. dose the art book not state he comes from a lake or that you lead him from water to land. also his position to the bridge would insist being location in one of the Fs. plus from the photos you can see that they tested him in multiple location.
Thanks Andrew, nice to hear from you again ; ) But I think I have provided enough evidence that the Spider lived at G0 (in previous videos). The bridge supports in the background art book image, the similarity of the cliffs at G0 in the Preview version to the art book image and the art book image of the Entrance temple showing Wander's health and grip HUD, all these point to the Spider at G0... if not where do you propose it was?
SotC originally used to had 48 colossus. Some places i see like each colossus has some different type of stuffs i cannot explain you good but like malus the place are all rocks and less grass and a colossus has less hair like rock places could be a colossus that has less hair like cenobia, basaran etc... And place like water has avion a flying hydrus a fish so pheonix could be in a water place like basarans or gaius and sand places like phalanx and digre PS i suck at speculation
well u sure know ur thing makes me wonder how is shadow of the colossus movie turning out. it might actually be only movie where michael bay destruction would make sense, when colossus effects its surroundings, it seriously effects its surroundings. a giant made out of stone does put places to pieces with a huge strength. sure the art trip part there, but when shit needs to hit the fan, it seriously should be allowed to hit the fan.
Nomad where you would think it is the arena Pholux I think it would be in B5 imagns showed that in some towers and this plac could be the perfect arena it.
The Ico beach is nowhere near the bridge so for me that rules it out. As for the early layout of the lands, in what beta video do we ever see the southern cliffs? Also, on the PV/Demo map the Entrance temple is missing, so they may have added it much later than we thought.
D; I want to see the the disc contents. O and btw idk iff you have tried this but try and look for sounds in the demos's data files like you did with the normal game. Maybe because they are demos they hva e sounds that havent been removed from them
I think in remake they added a thing in 8c location why have relics hidden and a number in map counting the relics Sorry but i am brazilian and my inglish is bad and this video is old but i think you will see
Love all the videos, you keep an amazing but limited game alive over time with these videos. There's no use in saying this now cause you already made the video and all your other ones too, I just think you play demise of the ritual a little too often
good job on this video Nomad Colossus! if you were the creator of the game, would you ever consider doing a shadow of the colossus game with just the discarded colossi?
however, does not make sense a colossus outside of FL, because, would not make sense in the intro of the game, the entrance slit, and the game itself, the continuation of the bridge ... I think even the images of Aberth were still testing that spot, unofficially, you know? talvz aberth were anywhere from FL maybe Spider has almost entered the game, the Spider Cliffs lead me to think that perhaps tried to rebuild the preview, and it did not work, which explains the arena it out of FL ...

They did put his name in the credits and I think based the token locations off of his videos.
@@MadMax22 if thats really why the coins are located where they are then thats a true tribute
Yesterday i had a dream... i was that in the remake they actually are gonna finish all the zones and colossus...
Dreaming is free...
These words are true well spoken
i know your comment is a bit old but you should look into the beyond the farlands fan project, theyre putting in the 10 cut colossi we have info on
Dang, Nomad. The amount of time and polish put into these is staggering. I just recently completed the game for the 6th time, wanted to look more at the game's lore and discovered your channel. It would be so nice if they made a DLC with all the cut colossi for ps3
But Ueda has said that if those 8 colossi had been in the game the map would be completely different because the map is designed to hold 16 colossi.
Love the skyrim music
Gunslinger15 Thanks, I put the Skyrim music in for two reasons, 1) I had used the SotC and ICO music to death in my numerous videos, 2) I love the soundtrack and I think it suits the mood of the game. I've heard that so friggen much I hate it.
SteelWarrior115 Beauti music Nomad!
SteelWarrior115 but isn’t this Malus’s theme?
Thanks ; ) I am working on it, but it's slow going as I get bogged down with the details as I want to put everything in it, but I probably need to keep it simple. Just the save shrine chapter is already 10 pages... xD
Another beautiful video Nomad, I really do look forward to these. They are all well put and actually make sense, bravo.
Every year I check to see if Nomad is still uploading, and every year he always has some crazy new discovery

I've done that - I used Celosia but the Sirius animation only makes it walk back three steps - that's all there is. So nothing exciting.
I intend to, in the form of my own art book. I'm currently working on it. It's layout is similar to the SotC art book but it contains all the hacking discoveries and speculations made in the past years. So hopefully Ueda himself will get a look at it and finally answer some age old questions ; )
Thanks for your work, I'm happy that SotC still gets people attention and have still hidden infos to get unveiled!

Yamori_A was an earlier version of #8 (Kuromori) or Yamori_B. There's an image of it in the art book.
Wow this video is amazing, it's so awesome you go into all this research, your awesome, keep doing what ya do!

Well looks like you have to remake this with the discovery of i1 and i7

I love your dedication to this game, Nomad :)

I'm lost. What are all these colossi I've never seen before?
I love your videos man! Thanks for your work!! :)
The rings would be used to holds it. As is a colossus Worm crawling, rings surely would be used to arrest him.
That song 5:40 8:57 9:11 10:05
That must be very cool feeling be the best Shadow of the Colossus player in the world.
Maybe you could get him to make another game and add in all the beta(s) and you could help design new ones. That would be really cool.
love the skyrim music in the background
This game honestly needs a remake so people can get to see the lost collosi and all the lost areas.
Love all the videos, you keep an amazing but limited game alive over time with these videos. There's no use in saying this now cause you already made the video and all your other ones too, I just think you play demise of the ritual a little too often
Any information on when the art book will be available? Sounds like something I'd want to look at.
good job on this video Nomad Colossus!
if you were the creator of the game, would you ever consider doing a shadow of the colossus game with just the discarded colossi?

great video man!
Nomad, you can say Avus, the black bird (i know doesn't exist) in quadrant A0, or B1, B2 ? Do you can say that ?
i don't know if this is true, but wouldn't he be at i7, i something(the unreliable part here) that Dionin spawned after Kyos, in the same area
04:26 Music of Skyrim
hey nomad see if the animation is to put sirius in celosia or Cenobia dissem that 3 has the same size
That was three months ago... I have contacted him but he never replies. I asked him to make copies of the other two discs (even offered to pay for them) but I never heard back sadly.
You could become a Forbidden Land weather forecaster! :)
(Carries on) I looks like this colossi would have been the earthworm .
This video is really old but I do think they would make money if they worked on map expansions and adding all those colossi.
Whats with the parachute? Is that a mod? Wow, this game seems so much more mysterious now... I thought I've seen every corner...
No The Parachute Is From Time Attack You Get Time Attack Items By Praying At The Idol Statues (After You Beat The Game) And Defeat The Colossus Under The Time Limit.
KDG Some day, I will play this game again... some day...
Flinch xI I Still Play It In Fact I'm Trying To Make Speculations About Some Of The Discarded Colossi.
KDG That in itself is intriguing...
Flinch xI Okay
I see what you are saying - makes sense.
Where is the Earthworm/Parasite , colossus supposed to be?
Nomad a guy just commented on your Press reare discs. he says he has it
I swear.... If I was a millionaire I would pay 100% for them to remake this game with all 24 colossus included.
for what colossi was the dam?
That idea of one colossus appearing after another was defeated is complete crap! It was just a made up story for the SotC wiki - check Yamori's blog about this, she uncovered that a lot of stuff was made up there. As to where the colossi lived there's no way to be sure, but it's fun speculating about it ; )
Nomad can you talk about Jampack volume 13 and 14?
When Malus icon appeared in I4 , as a matter of fact ,
B1 look like an unfinish cave
I think ITS for the monkey arena
Thank you for your works :)
And the video is brilliant
B5 could be where Roc lived...
the elder scrolls skyrim musics!i love it.
I like your sotc videos :)
two of the rings are broken so that could have been where it escaped
