My wife and I have flown and done Aeros in G-IILX. This was at White Waltham August 2021. It’s a wonderful machine. It was my wife’s first flight in a light aircraft. She was buzzing for weeks…….
I was a Cadet, supposed to be doing traffic control at RAF Hullavington in 196?. It was a perfect day and I lay on my back and watched the Zlins and Pitts Specials do their thing. Amazing and I think I still have a signed photo of Pop Pitts somewhere and the lapel badge. Happy days!
Only see this group of planes at aerobatics shows. You really have to be flying at age 11 onwards for many years to do this. Some of these planes are based in Cambridgeshire airfields. You see some of them at Wickenby but Gerald does not like non-pilots on the airfield unless they know aerobatic manoeuvres or they know what trim and flaps are but Sywell is friendly. All of these aircraft cost at least £250,000 each so it is an expensive pastime. I fly a Microlight c42 but aerobatics is very advanced. Great video. Such a pity the LAA rally left Sywell for Leicester this year but Leicester is the best airfield for 550 aircraft in 3 days. I used to live 4 miles from Sywell.
Nice video! We use similar cameras. I use the Canon Legria HF-G50. I filmed the Aerobatic Competition at Leicester Airport. What do you think to the HF-G70?
It’s a lot to get used too, especially when I would normally use my phone. I found it really difficult to focus, but I assume it will become easier once I play with all the settings.
Modern Aeros are so ugly. What happened to the grace of a Zlin, the poetry of a Bucker or the struggle against mass of a Chipmunk? All sadly missed in a world of prescision angles and big control surface capability. Sad.
@@PlaneBrain I used to each Aeros, always drummed in the heed for flow and economy of effort. My trick show was a seq in a borrowed CAP 10 with a prop stopped finish to land...Very Bob Hoover! actually an uncles display in a Sea Hornet when I was a kiddie was the inspiration for that. though he was on one engine till the last few manoeuveres. Then none. ,
Beautifully filmed, narrated & edited! 👏🏼 I’m impressed & admittedly a little jealous 🫢😉 Keep them coming 👍🏼
Thank you, I really appreciate it 🙃

I am not surprised she was buzzing. I am definitely jealous! 😂
@@PlaneBrain It’s a fantastic aircraft. Knocks the Extra 200 I flew out of the park. Have go in it, I guess it’s still available at White Waltham.
Well done Seren!! Xx
Thank you 🥰
Great Seren… pity about the weather. Pops xx
Thank you 😁

Awesome! 😁
Nice video! And thanks for the shout out 😃
You’re welcome 😎
Good video Seren. I was there on Friday, but left before they started flying.
I don’t blame you, the weather was very bleak ☁️
Great video Seren
Thank you 🤩
Subscribed, I only flew in to Sywell the one time to pickup a PZL 104 Wilga G-BTNS.
Sounds cool 😁

Ohhh, that’s quite interesting 😃

G-URGH - yep, if you took me up for aerobatics in it, that's the noise I'd be making...😂
It’s an unfortunate registration, isn’t it? 😂
How do you feel about the G70 now you’ve used it for a while?
Slowly getting used to it, I still have it on its automatic setting at the moment. I don’t have to confidence to start faffing with manual stuff 😂

I completely understand, watching aerobatics that flow together are a lot more satisfying 🤔
