No one can even imagine his aesthetic frames and taste of getting music from AR Rahman, i want to know how Maniratnam and ARR saab would discuss about their films music especially Devarlaan aatam. Technically a brilliant film with an extraordinary performances, JayamRavi, Chiyaan Vikram, Karthi, Jayaram, Trisha, Aishwarya Rai everyone got a lifetime permanent place in every Ponniyin Selvan readers heart. A pure masterclass.

@@cj_naveen nope he is the best, no one can do justice to the character like JayamRavi did, aggressive eyes, subtle body language, tall(6feet like shown in novel) charismatic face. He is the BEST. No one can come close to his stature in this film, honestly a popular opinion by many, first time seeing a negative comment.

In this interview Mani Ratnam garu said he made many bad movies in reply to Gautam's question. But for me he made only one film that is bad is kadal remaining all movies are fantastic. He is very humble, he made extraordinary movies but still he credits Raja Mouli.

GVM is better at speaking than movie-making/directing, and he has plenty of time.
His movie-making style and directions fails, with many issues, so direction style is not bringing him to the front but instead putting him down, so he is here and talking as usual. No doubt his acting is excellent.

@@sudhas244 Thank you for your kind reply; I understand what you are saying, but he misses many chances and goes to the field without any script or writing; all those famous actors ask him to show them what he has, but he only passes the time instead of showing his work. People must talk about his work; instead, he comes to the media and talks everywhere and on every channel. People and industries try to recognize him as a good director, but he talks smart but has many issues and needs to match the director's quality. I want to see him showing his stuff and skill in practical as he did a decade ago.
His work should be talking for him, not himself; he exceeded the amount of time on the media.

Both are outdated directors. Time moved on but they think they still have the director touch in them. Mani is a legend to be written into history books but sadly his time is over. Gautam is outdated and not a legend, just gave very good hits and can be counted as one of the successful directors avalo dhaan. Kelambunga pa, idhula eppo paaru English laye pesa vendiyadhu.
