The number one thing to look out for to avoid buying counterfeit items from any retailer is price... If it seems too good to be true (like $100 less than everywhere else), then it is.
Normally, I would agree with you, but I actually bought a pair for about $125 less than MSRP off eBay. I had them for over 3 years. I made a warranty claim on them and mailed them to Costa. They replaced them. So, if they were fake, they fooled the manufacturer.
The fact i bought a 3$ pair off temu, that have the 580p stamp, and are better then these make me feel bad for you broski. My patient numbers line up, even take me to the academy site and the vision is AMAZING same quality as a 280 pair of costas. Only difference is i dont have the hinges like yours.
Buy a 3$ pair off temu, you won't buy a 200 pair of costas ever again. They aren't garbage if you got 200 to spend on real ones you can spend 20 on 10 different pairs on temu and be super satisfied way better then these
It was a third party seller, who as of now, is still on the Amazon website! Angel Seller is the name. If you see their reviews they're clearly a clearing house for counterfeit and low quality products.
It's truly amazing that Amazon allows for this. Third party sellers are notorious for this and unfortunately even if Amazon bans them, another will just fill it's spot. Until Amazon disallows the Chinese third party sellers I think we'll always have to deal with this.
Smart move. And that's one way to deal with it. However until Amazon disallows the Chinese third party sellers I think we'll always have to deal with this.
@@135-j @135-j I did actually. This video is old and was the catalyst and the final straw to me ditching ANY purchases through Amazon that could be bought elsewhere. It started when I was told on a "free return" that I needed to provide a government issued ID to process the return of money to my original payment method....weeks after they had the return! I booted Amazon from my routing cancelled the renewal of my Amazon prime membership. I just wish more people would follow suit.

True, however sometimes wholesalers will run a heavy discount on stock items that aren't moving well or stylistically are "out of fashion".
Are they glass!?

Temu seems just as bad to me as the knock offs on Amazon, but I'm glad you got ones that were good quality.
Buy Direct indeed!
👍🏻
Still going on just got these same fake ones
Absolutely ridiculous. Until Amazon disallows the Chinese third party sellers I think we'll always have to deal with this.
Market Place is Flooded with them as well.
Yep. Until Amazon disallows the Chinese third party sellers I think we'll always have to deal with this.
I go to retail Costa dealer. Would rather pay 100 more for genuine item than 100 for garbage.

Agreed and yes, buying direct IS the way. Until Amazon disallows the Chinese third party sellers I think we'll always have to deal with this.
Was Amazon the seller or was it a third party seller on Amazon?

I bought some that have been advertised here on TH-cam for 40 bucks. Big mistake. But I have received knock off spark plugs on Amazon.

Probably third party seller. Avoid those people.
True. Until Amazon disallows the Chinese and foreign third party sellers, I think we'll always have to deal with this.
Tinha que dar cadeia para falsificação
It is sad that people are selling fakes.
Those are fake 😅
Yup. For sure!
I got mine from Costa store in Amazon

All day they are being sold
Never are they that cheap not even on sale

@@TeamFITBODY quit buying everything on amazon

That's why you never buy a pair of Costas unless you're at a fishing. game store. or Costa themselves. All the ones on eBay and Amazon are knockoff
Man I’m like $50 away from the king tide 6 but eBay had them for $209 😭
LOL. Fair enough and I agree after my findings.
Buy a $3 Temu pair of Reeftons and put in a pair of replacement costa lenses. lol
Hahaha. Unfortunately they're likely to be garbage knock off frames.
