Tool Time Tuesday - I just got done doing a review on the new Potter USA Stamping Tool. I am very excited about the possibilities of this tool and the addition of future attachments.
I think when you want to raise the hammer the same height each time. Instead of drawing a line on the shaft it would be easier to just take that locking collar that was holding the spring in place, and you could slide it onto the shaft from underneath and lock it on the shaft and it would be exact every time.
It certainly isn't going to be a tool for everyone. The people that have been most excited about this are the ones that have a hard time hammering due to physical ailments and such. And also, this tool wed developed in response to requests for having a tool to help keep everything aligned.
+Melissa Muir I can definitely see it as an aid for those who have difficulty hammering. For someone who stamps all the time without limitation, this tool takes an enormous amount of time. I could be done long before just using my stamps and a hammer. I'm interested to see what adaptations come along for it though. Kevin is always thinking outside the box. :)

What is the exact name of the tool because I had difficulty find it to see prices, etc.? Thanks.
I like this tool!
Kevin ought to think of a laser light as an aiming device that would allow you to set your stamp more accurately!
This was helpful. Thank you Melissa!
Melissa Muir do you still recommend this stamping tool or are there others now?
JeanStarling I don’t think Potter makes them anymore. But Durston makes a great one. You can see it at www.Durston.com/melissamuir

It would make more sense if you use a magnet to hold the stamp in place instead of a clamp it just seems a little cumbersome
Jason R I think there were a few things he would have changed, but he no longer makes them.
What abou large stamps?
wonderful
Thank you! Cheers!
Can't see the point it is just a big expensive hammer
