- With only a few characters left to make compilations for, next up is the Chibi Crime lord, Roman Torchwick! And I know what some of you are thinking, that Torchwick was in almost every scene for the Chibi Neo video. Well, the thing is, since there were a number of scenes I didn't include in the Chibi Neo Compilation, and there are a good number of moments that Torchwick has on his own, so you can classify this one as Best of Chibi Neo (Uncut Edition). Also, what the hell was Ozpin thinking letting a criminal like Torchwick into his Academy???

Ah yes, Roman Torchwick, one of the greatest villains in RWBY, I still miss this guy.
Team CRWBY really gave him the bird
he was annoying af but 100 times Better than other villians. but he had the funniest death.
I only have fond memories of him in Chibi.

It's such a shame that, with his voice factor leaving Rooster Teeth, he couldn't appear again in the recent new skits. He was one of my favorite characters in Chibi...

Roman Torchwick and Neo are my favorite dynamic duo and villains in RWBY.
I still think Torchwick was killed off too early.
I think they wanted him out of the way so they could do the bigger stuff like the gods and salem, but i agree, it was unnecessary.
Imagine if they pull an Emperor Palpatine on him

What if Torchwick's semblance was luck? He gets stuck in the gizzard of that bird and spit back up. He then returns in the last minute to help RWBY. Finally, he confronts his nemesis - "I told you I'd be back."
He then walks away silently...

Torchwick is honestly my favorite rwby villain, I always thought of him as ruby's personal villain more than Cinder

Torchwick has to be my favorite villain. He was fantastic in the O.G show and the Chibi show.
He might not be the brightest crayon in the box sometimes, but damn.

Roman Torchwick is better than Cinder because he has way more character and he has a cool hat, stylish suit and awesome cane.
And he didn't need a bunch of powers to win his fights.

What happened to having the cunning of actually beating super humans without super powers? Why does Ironwood have a useless semblance? Why did they fricken RUIN Ironwood? Why did they have to have Team RWBY quadruple cross him and back stab him when he rewarded their heroism, gave Yang an arm free of charge, no strings attached, stick up for Weiss in front of everyone, and gave Team RWBY and RNJR their Huntsman and Huntress licenses?

@@curvingfyre6810 The problem is, they didn't foreshadow it. They rushed it. No amount of dialogue or action foreshadowed his "villainy". Up until the end of V7. And even then, most, if not, all, of his plan made actual sense. Ruby and co was wanting to save everyone, which would kill thousands in the process. Ironwood wanted to save Atlas and not Mantle because HE KNEW you can't save everyone, no matter how hard you try. He wanted to protect everyone else from Salem from getting her hands on the relic.
And like I said. Nothing was every foreshadowed, at all
@@voltekthecyborg7898 You are blind. Like, unironnically. You see a uniform and develop amnesia about their mistakes. Ironwood was the weakness that took down beacon. His paranoia, his faith in his machines, his secret keeping. Besides major plot events, we learn that he's literaly a corrupt politician who claimed 2 seats in what should have been a functioning democracy. In volume 7 we see this clearly and slowly expanded on. His distain for mantle, his total lack of care for the faunus, a refusal to work with a HUMAN LIE DETECTOR who could have been the key to ensuring he would never be infiltrated again, simply because her allegiance was to the people more than the state. HIS state. He was a thinly veiled dictator the entire time. No retcons. This was a textbook paranoid breakdown arc. Could not have been more smoothly carried out.
And lets talk about his "decisions" that you think made sense. The dust embargo. Denying military aid to other kingdoms when they are all under attack, making himself look like the enemy, deepening the damage done by cinder using his robots. Turning mantle into a mass surveillance state maximising negativity - assuming it wasn't always like that under his rule, which would be worse. When Tyrian tears up the party, he neglects to talk to robin about it, who could literally set all fears straight with a handshake. Moving on to his combat decisions, Atlas is not self sufficient. It's a colossal population center with finite fuel and highly insufficient arable land. The staff allows it to float indefinitely, that is all. The people who live there are majority office workers. Factories, mines, most farms, industrial skilled labor forces, those are ALL in mantle. Upon seeing a larger force of grim, he dropped his attempt to take the necessary skilled laborers with him. Not only that, he did so in response to a colossal flying grim that he DID NOT KNOW THE CAPABILITIES OF. The thing clearly did not use wings to fly, there was no reason to think that it could not go as high as atlas. He allows a known agent of Salem to do something that ironwood himself DOES NOT UNDERSTAND to penny, who is both the winter maiden, and a powerful weapon in her own right. Surprise, this is bad for EVERYONE except salem. While doing this massive blunder, he also turns his back on the man long enough for him to pocket a scroll to escape with. He shoots down evacuation ships because he's paranoid that he would be infiltrated through them... BY SOMEONE WHO CAN LITERALLY FLY. He then moves on to trying to slaughter prisoners to get what he wants, half of whom are long trusted allies, or minors, and one of which is both. After that, he finally moves on to nuking a major population center that, once again, has the labor forces he needs to maintain life above the clouds. Oh, and lets not forget shooting one of the actually *elected* officials for talking him down.
All of this is done with smooth escalation of the pressures he faces deepening his paranoia, escalating faster and faster as the peak of action grows. It could not get any more textbook than this. I do not know how to help you out here.
Also, its realistic. Military dictatorships aren't known for their ethical - nor rational - decisions vis-a-vis civilian casualties. But they are known for paranoia, love of uniforms, posturing about pretending to be ethical and hyper rational, and rhetoric about "hard decisions".
Oh, and lets talk about one of the main features unique to this show, character inspiration parallels. Ozpin, the wizard of oz, failed because he kept secrets. Leo, the cowardly lion, failed because he was afraid for himself. Qrow, the scarecrow (or one of the characters inspired by him, depending on how they handle vacuo's headmaster), fails because of his alcoholism, literally shutting off his brain. Ironwood, the tin man, failed because he stopped caring for others, became heartless. Not only was ironwood's specific arc foreshadowed from his first appearance, the show gave us literal EXAMPLES of what they were doing with that set of characters before they got to ironwood.
I bet you thought the march of the Ents from the Two Towers was apolitical too. Media literacy is fucking dead.

Cinder: That wasn't me.
Roman: Oh, Neo, thank goodness you're here. Get the solvent, will you? This glue is staying to seal my eyes shut. And you should really start using that bell.

Torchwick, one of my favorite characters in Chibi. His over the top energy is just so entertaining. I sometimes would applaud just seeing him and Neo walking on screen together because I know what to expect.
