I'm building this car at the moment - my first Salvino's JR kit too. I think that, while tricky in places, if the build is approached carefully and methodically, it can turn out nicely. I'm nearly finished the chassis and I managed to correct the warp in the undertray (using a bath of very hot water from the electric kettle). It looks like your undertray had warpage, which resulted in the lopsided stance. What I love about your build is the paint and decals. It looks like you got the Powerslide decals to work really well. The white sections don't seem to be translucent (as white decals often are) and don't suffer from the red "bleeding" through them and turning the white into pink. I have been debating whether I should trust the decals this way, and only paint the body red, or mask out and paint the white bits so that there is less stress applying the decals.
Looks great. Yea these kits are difficult in some spots.once you do a couple of them it's gets easier to build. Every one makes a few mistakes on the first build. Don't sweat it. It look great
Thank you!!! For as frustrated I was with this build, it definitely hasn't killed the need to build more, I just haven't yet . I remember when I started with the old monogram NASCAR kits, first couple times were rough but now I can build them one a week!!
I just got one but haven't built it yet. I've heard they're not easy to build, but I've also heard the newer ones are much better. Have you built one since?
Thanks for watching and writing!! Appreciate it greatly! I definitely had my "issues" with this kit, but I also had issues when I first started with the old monogram NASCAR kits, now I can build those in my sleep, lol. I have not yet tried another of these new ones. I heard they adjusted the tolerances of the fittings, which I can say would have helped a lot, everything was a super tight fit. I would love to build more of these kits, especially now that I am more aware of the issues and what and how to get it together better!!! Good luck on your kit, take your time!!!!
It is a great paint scheme, turned out really nice Chris
Thanks, Tom! I do love this paint scheme, luckily the body came out cool, but unfortunately that was about it this time....next one will be better!
🏁Nice looking build Chris 🏁
Thank you, Tim!!

Looks great. Gotta try this kit some day. I love the 80s monogram kits.
The 80s Monogram kits are by far the best!! Be careful with these new ones, tight fits.
Looks Great Chris!!!! I thought those Salvino kits were like Tamiya kits. Went together flawlessly. Thanks for sharing.
Thanks, Mike! I had some troubles with the kit but I definitely want , need and will try more of these!!! Practice makes perfect
They are definitely not easy kits to build Chris! Yours looks good. 😎👍
This was a pain in the butt. But it was my first, would love to do more!!!!!!
Nice ZL-1 NASCAR build
Thank you, David!! Hopefully it'll be the first of many and hopefully each will get better!!!
Turned out nice, dude.
Thank you. Had my problems with it but that only means the next one is gonna be even better
Looks great on video Chris, nice paint and decal work!
Thank you!! The body came out the best, loved the decals!!
Still looks great Chris. I have never built one of the next gen yet. Ron
Thanks, Ron! This was little tricky, but definitely hasn't scared me away, practice makes perfect
Real nice mate👍
