@BenthovenGaming I play trumpet. Growling is when you play while clearing your throat. What he was doing is called multiphonics. It's when you play while singing.

@BenthovenGaming Right, but growling doesn't require a specific pitch. As long as the note you sing clashes sufficiently with the note you're playing, you'll get that raspy tone. I think he intended to harmonize his melody by singing a note within the scale. Technically, that would fall more in the category of multiphonics. You're definitely not wrong though! ;)
