Hi Ajay Sir, Nice explanation, Thanks for coming with new topic, In RLS it directly opened without email enter Thanks to share this imp. concept with us
If I have a visual with more than one measures and only one of those measures uses a column with OLS is this going to break the visual once a user who doesn't have permission to see that column opens the page? If no, how is it visualized?
Thanks for your humble words! You can assign using security settings in your datasets like you do in RLS. For more info, check this link: docs.microsoft.com/en-us/power-bi/admin/service-admin-rls Please check under "Manage security on your model"
Hi , Do we have any feature to customise that error message in tabular editor something like "You are not allowed to see this visual". The default error message seems there is some issue with the report. Please let me know if we have any option for this. Also Can we applied security from a single table to all the workspaces?
Hi Mr. Kumar, we already have a dedicated series on RLS. Please watch this here: th-cam.com/play/PLp4MAoTwZIfc9zn1G3U8jhe9BVFOzWZ7_.html I hope this will help you :) Good luck!
I haven't installed tabular editor.could you please let me know whether tabular editor is required or not. What is the use of tabular editor other than in ols
Hi Very good explanation with demo, but i have doubt after publishing the report into a workspace and assigning the users to workspace as viewers this will work fine but what need to be done if a user is changed from viewer to member for the same workspace he also should have same security restrictions on the data is this possible . Thanks in advance !
Well, of course, this would impact. A Power BI workspace member has almost same power as of a Power BI Admin. So, definitely these won't apply for him. He/She can view, edit or delete reports. However, viewer role is just for the report consumption where RLS/OLS comes into the picture. For more information, please check this link: docs.microsoft.com/en-us/power-bi/collaborate-share/service-new-workspaces
Hi Ajay small Question suppose I created role for specific country and that role don't need to click other countries visual like button if we have then what will be the best solution for that(is there any option for visual security ).
This won't break it. OLS is object level security that means you can apply this to either a table or a field. However, I'll advise you to try this first at your end, and see yourself the results.
Hi Very good explanation with the demo, but I have a doubt after publishing the report into a workspace when I open the report I want to see only the records related to me by default how to achieve that? Each time I need to go to the security in the dataset to test via role to see the records only related to me. How to make that option by default in powerbi service to show only the records related to that particular user.
Object-level Security hides tables, columns, and measures but also secures them. Your secured tables and columns are obscured in the field list when using reporting tools like Excel or Power BI. As per the definition, yes you can but if you are trying to directly write the DAX expression, then I am afraid to say NO.
Thanks, Bert for the feedback. I can understand your problem. However, no matter how sorry I am, this video cannot be edited now. Moreover, I am not including any music my videos nowadays. I hope you would like all the current and the future videos. I am looking forward for your feedback on my other videos.
Thanks for your feedback! As I have mentioned previously, if you don't want ads, kindly get our channel membership. Thanks once again for watching the video.

@Braxton Makai No problem :D
Hello @BI Consulting Pro,
What Keyboard and mouse combo did you use at 3:07 to replicate the card in Report tab?
Hi Ajay Sir,
Nice explanation, Thanks for coming with new topic, In RLS it directly opened without email enter
Thanks to share this imp. concept with us
Could you please elaborate it a bit more " In RLS it directly opened without email enter"?
If I have a visual with more than one measures and only one of those measures uses a column with OLS is this going to break the visual once a user who doesn't have permission to see that column opens the page? If no, how is it visualized?
I think so, however, honestly speaking I haven't tried it out. Why don't you try and share your experience? If you face any issues, kindly let us know
I'm new to this Power BI, learning through your videos. A big thanks for that. I have a doubt how to assigne those roles to users or groups?
Thanks for your humble words! You can assign using security settings in your datasets like you do in RLS. For more info, check this link: docs.microsoft.com/en-us/power-bi/admin/service-admin-rls

You can test either role or via e-mail address
Thank you very much for the
great tutorials,

We haven't tried it. Let us work over it, and if we find something, we'll create a video.
How do we implement the same with Dynamic RLS

Hi Ajay small Question suppose I created role for specific country and that role don't need to click other countries visual like button if we have then what will be the best solution for that(is there any option for visual security ).
I think on that case you can use static RLS.
Very well explained. Thanks for sharing🎉🎉
Thank you
Just a question, if I use sales, finance revenue fields in table and apply OLS on finance number, would that not break the complete table view?
This won't break it. OLS is object level security that means you can apply this to either a table or a field. However, I'll advise you to try this first at your end, and see yourself the results.
Nice. Thanks for the tutorial
Thank you

If you have implemented Dynamic RLS, you would see what you are entitled for. You don't need to do any extra efforts.
can OLS be applied on measures directly?
Object-level Security hides tables, columns, and measures but also secures them. Your secured tables and columns are obscured in the field list when using reporting tools like Excel or Power BI.

This was really nedded🙏🙏🙏
Thank you! You guys can request any video in future!
Fabulous... kudos
can you please send the pdix file once again please we can't access it right now please share
please do the needful
Instead of showing some error on the visual. can hide the visual or show some neat message in label over the visual
You can do this but that would be a complex DAX Expression.
Great sir
Thank you
Thanks for this video!
But why the music? .... makes it very hard to concentrate
