    Awesome list Mike, no arguments there! Haha
    I thought I'd throw another 5 your way for good measure (in no particular order).
    Time of the season '64 - The Zombies
    Space oddity '69 - David Bowie
    Sound of silence '64 - Simon & Garfunkal
    Helplessly Hoping '69 - Crosby, Stills/Nash
    Hey Joe '67 - Jimi Hendrix
    Who knows maybe some of these will make it in your future lessons 😁

      Oh, great suggestions, mate. I'll check them out. Cool that the Bowie tune was from the 60's.

    I’ve been playing for a while Mike and it’s funny how I play so many of the songs you have tutorials for. Looking forward to learning lots more from you! Found out about you from Neal Doss over on Comandolin. You guys are going to keep me busy. I feel in love with the mandolin decades ago when I first listened to Seals and Crofts. Any plan to cover any of their stuff? Regardless, I am SO excited to have found you!!!

      Hi Rick! Awesome to have you on board, here. Yes, Neal is a great guy and an excellent mandolin player and teacher. We did a Zoom interview this week that I hope to run here on my channel in the coming weeks. As for Seals and Crofts, I'm not familiar with them. What song would you like me to look at?

    Those are all good songs. I just learned "Pictures of Matchstick Men" by the Status Quo and found it to be very easy. The mandolin sounds good on that song. It has a single notes lead in, don't know if you would call it a lick though but it is incredibly easy. The rest is mostly chords. But they are pretty easy chords. A lot of two finger chords can be used.

    Hey Mike I’m wondering if you have/had a dream mandolin? Or any brand that you just love?

    • @RockPopMandolin
      @RockPopMandolin  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      I’m happy with my little Loar right now. But someday, perhaps I’ll be able to afford a more expensive mando.

      Rock & Pop Mandolin awesome, which mandolin/brand would you choose?

    • @RockPopMandolin
      @RockPopMandolin  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Mike Ellis Don’t know without trying one in person. But perhaps I’d go for a Weber or Collings. They look like lovely instruments.

      Rock & Pop Mandolin awesome! Thanks for the reply. I also like Weber and Collings. I recently started looking at Stiver Mandolins and wow very nice mandolins.
