Hey guys welcome back to the channel!! Today we're going to be watching along some movies together and not just any movies... I'm talking installments in the official Harry Styles Cinematic Universe. If you've been a viewer for a while you know we used to watch the After movies whenever they came out but stopped after the third one, so with prime putting out The Idea Of You this Summer I thought it was the perfect excuse to not just watch that along with yall but also group in the two After movies LOL
Both movies have their own ties to Harry Styles as inspiration in one way or another. For After it's because the movies were adapted from a book series that was originally Harry Styles fanfiction on Wattpad while for The Idea of You, it was based on a book that was published and turned out to have a character who was inspired by Harry. TIOY ended up gaining a ton of hype in 2019 and ended up getting picked up as a movie which is crazy considering it stars Anne Hathaway??? Like what??? Also I'm listening to guard down as i type this ngl... like seriously i wish i could put longer clips of music in videos lol go listeN TRUST ME

I'm waiting for a kidnapped by 1D movie. It could be a purposeful comedy that hits every single fanfic trope. Like the main character is called Y/N or Whyenne, she's always got a messy bun and her mom is such a bitch. So when she wakes up in the home of a mysterious boy band, she's kinda happy about it, but she won't show her true feelings until the end when she gets to choose one of them to be date.

The idea of you actually based on the Writer ex boyfriend who was in band, so the writer wrote first script based on him 18 years ago, She wrote the original book before harry styles started his career! but then She made few changes on her first book like Hayes looks etc and she got inspired by other people like Prince Harry, and Eddie Redmayn & Prince Harry & harry styles and her current husband etc to write the final version of the idea of you book that we see now !

aside from Casey's amazing videos, if anyone wants to experience 'after' without actually watching any of them, I'd recommend the Dylan is in Trouble videos on those movies. his disdain for hardin made the last one in particular a fun hate watch lmao

I read "The Idea of You" before watching the movie, and they aged up her daughter in the movie! The dramatic scenario you described, Solene's daughter being a superfan of August Moon and Hayes being her favorite member, is actually part of the storyline in the book!! The daughter is 12 in the book and angry at her mom for weeks because "mom, I LOVE him." The book is a quick read, worth it if you want to see even more evidence it's about Harry lol. Another funny aspect of the book is one of the boy band members is named Liam, and they changed only his name in the movie 😂

I read After on a friend recommendation in high school. I thought "Harry" was so hot, so I looked up Harry Styles to get some real Inso for the character. I was beyond shocked to find edits of Harry Styles being a sweet, charming, cupcake. It is HILARIOUS that he is nothing like any fictional character inspired by him.
