5/5, This comes from someone who gets distracted, it is an amazing technique to read through text completion slowly rather than a hasty approach. Thanks for your videos, Tested Tutor!
My GRE is today at noon. I've been studying and taking practice tests for almost 4 months. This is my first attempt at the GRE. I'm older, so I've felt less prepared since I've been out of school for nearly 15 years. Your videos have been a great help. I'm so impressed with your knowledge. Thank you for making these for us. 🤠 howdy from Texas!
@@TheTestedTutor I made sufficient grades to apply to my chosen program!! I had to make above 150 on both Quant and Verbal and I did just that! They are unofficial scores of course, and the essays aren't graded, but still. What a relief! Thanks again for all your videos. I can't believe you made perfect scores...the test was very challenging!! Cheers to you!
@@TheTestedTutor Hi Philip! I hope my comment may bring some inspiration then! I recently took the GRE and found that I was stuck on math questions pertaining to prices, interest, and even charts where they would look at the costs of various different objects. I think it is mostly trying to figure out how to translate the story into a math equation and how to properly use the simple annual interest formula. I hope my comment isn't too vague (it probably is), but if you know what I am trying to refer to then it would be great to know how to tackle these kinds of problems. Thanks again for your help!
That moment when you get a triple blank right! :D Another quality vid from Sir Phillip. Waiting for more of these! Thank you for sharing these nuggets of knowledge. :)
Is it true that the questions contained in the Manhatten 5 lb book are at a higher standard compared to the ones that are asked in the actual test? I'm asking because I found these questions quite solvable, whereas I find it difficult to answer some of the questions in that book.
Considering taking the GRE in 2-3 years. This is the first practice video I’ve looked at, got them all right so far. Looks like I’m on the way to that 340!
Gregmat's Chanel takes the lead for SE, TC, especially for non-native speakers. Yet it's worth watching. I appreciate your work. However, people, who are still not getting the concept properly I would recommend visiting the gregmat's channel: "gregmat's verbal toolkit" to learn comprehensive approaches.
@@TheTestedTutor Yes your suggestions and approaches towards the test are legit. Afterall you both are Perfect Scorer in the GRE. As your student, I would say Difference between him and you as a mentor is that he focused more on Non-Native English speaking countries students.
I saw your RC video, I wanted to know any trick for the questions " "Each of the following is true EXCEPT?" It takes a lot of time for me to go through every option and find whether it's true or not in the passage. PLEASE HELP!!!!
I really like the way you teach and approach each section, would be more helpful if we practice as we complete each video , can you please share links to practice more of these questions.
Any advice for learning vocab? Most questions that I’ve tried, I seem to have a pretty good grasp at what the texts are getting at or what they mean. It’s the answer choices which trip me up (contrary to what some of my friends and other example videos say in that they know the vocab/definitions of the answer choices, but the meaning of the text trips them up).
Amazing video, per usual. I make sure to like and comment on everyone I watch! I stopped using my other prep and have just been using your videos. I understand yours more. It would be great if in the videos you left homework from the GRE big book or whatever book. Also, advice? I took my first practice test 01/30/232, yesterday and I had HORRIBLE test anxiety. I got a 150 on verbal and 147 on quant. I didn't submit any essays. I tried to treat it as if I was actually testing and it was, well awful. I froze up and I had to read the verbal passages over and over. Then with quant if I couldn't immediately see a way to solve the problem my mind would just feel doomed and I would draw blanks. I couldn't think of any formula or logical method at that level of anxiety. My graduate program is for a DNP for CRNA, nurse anesthesiologist. I don't need anything crazy. They just want a 292 or higher with a 3.5 or higher on writing, which i haven't even studied yet! My test is in 10 days. Any advice on what to focus on? I'm just chaotically studying everything. Any words of encouragement that there is a chance for me? lol
You can and will get there Jessica. If you check out my five week playlist there is a homework set of chapters from Manhattan 5lb for each week in the playlist description. I also have a video on test anxiety! Even I get it too!
Hello Tested Tutor. Your videos are really great and helped me boost my confidence. Do you always suggest looking at the answer choices to fill in the blank or predict an answer first and use that predicted word to choose from the choices?
will you please make a video about how to improve on the verbal section specifically?.. I had really tried hard but really can't do that well. I think time is also a great restraint in my case. Please tell us about the time management too.

Hey Philip, could you please make a similar video on RC questions where we need to 1. State what weakens/strengthens the arguments in the passage 2. State the assumption on which the author could have made the arguement, with some of the questions of 5 lb book I want to know the thought process that goes into solving them.
sir in 5th question, traditionals expect stability, and the thing that is expected from a jazz player is stability right?, then why have you gone for inventiveness when it is the downfall which is leading to loss of interest....
Is vocab more important or reading difficult articles more crucial while preparing for the GRE? Many people advocate that reading should be emphasized more than learning the meanings of difficult words. What's your take on that? Since, you have a perfect score in verbal, so I reckon your's would be the best advice.
