    She sure does look good with her new shoes. Little kids can sleep through anything, lol. Atleast he went to sleep happy, lol. It was nice of you to give him a ride. He may not remember it, but you will, lol. I'm sure he will get more chances in the future.

    I was told when I was “2or 3” years old, grandad would put my in the “messy frigisum” and give me rides for the exact purpose of making me fall asleep. I was grandads “fender weight” from then on until I was too big to be comfortable with us both riding on his tractors.

    I used to ride everywhere with my Father in a 87 Silverado I'd fall asleep leaning up against him, every time I woke up I saw the gas tank switch. I still smile when I see the switch in my 87.

    Very enjoyable video. The ole white did good with her new shoes. It's always good to see a younger generation take an interest in this stuff. My little boy will do the same thing, if he sees me on something, he wants a ride.

    I remember falling asleep in my dad's lap plowing with my grandpa's 4020. But I also have almost fallen asleep plowing by myself on the same tractor at 3am trying to beat the weather. Now with my little guy 4 generations have sat in the exact same seat.

    There are many videos on TH-cam of sleeping sounds - you should make a video of sleeping sounds from the noise from one of your tractors (I think is the green one) - I love the sound of that tractor when it is running hard and fast across a field - great sound.

    first tractor i road on with dad was a messy hairs 444 diesel . john deer 3 16" mounted plow i was leaning against the fender at night. dad seen i was getting tired and ask if i wanted to go another round,acours i did. thank god dad was watching me because i fell asleep .when i woke up i was in the house. open station like most tractors then,that could have bin bad. i still have the tractor but dad had two of them and this one was taken apart in 1974 to keep the other one running still hoping to find a good motter and get it restored.

    Not so much doing tillage because I’d always bang my head on the window when we went over a rut in the 4240, but I do remember falling asleep to the sound of the IH 830 chopper chopping haylage when I was real little. Man I miss them days of riding in the cab or on the fenders. Best way to grow up

    Hedges work really well for a "fence"... especially for keeping deer out and for blocking the wind..
    I would put tall hedges between the trees and use the treeline as the fenceline.. could also run a fence between the trees

    The white looks good with new rubber. I had some worn out bias ply tires on my AC 7010, I had them come out on some Michelin radials on (18.4 R38 agribibs) and she looks mean and it made a world of a difference. I could grab 4 more gears now that I’m not slipping around everywhere and it lugs the tractor down instead of spinning out. It was a lot of money to throw down but I’m happy with the purchase after the first use

    Howdy ya'll,
    I agree, growing up around equipment is the best way to grow up, that and dirt bikes 😅 I remember when my Dad would tell me to jump on my bike, and head to so and so's Farm, he has some work for you to do, and I'd hop on my Kawasaki 250 making sure I hit every jump I could.... several times 😂
    Ya, way better than the crap kids waste their time on today, cell phones and tablets, complete waste of time, so glad I grew up on a Farm, Stay safe and Farm on my Friends, Peace

    Nice too see you getting some field work done Ethan. I have a question for you since you have been doing a fair amount of field reclamation the last couple of years. I have about two acres of Alder that got flattened from the heavy snow and ice we got up here this year. I'm thinking about putting it into hay but I have never dealt with anything like Alder roots. Do you have any ideas for how to get rid of them?

    • @Oliver66FarmBoy
      @Oliver66FarmBoy  ปีที่แล้ว

      A root rake is gonna be about your only viable option. Or a really heavy construction style offset disk.

    What year is the 4-150? I ran one with a very similar dash in 1977. It was a loaner form the south bend plant with an experimental disk. I was king of the hill for a couple of days as a young man. Somewhere there was a hand written review form I completed. I had to measure depth, various speeds and total fuel used plus I am sure some other stuff. I wish I had thought about taking pictures with a regular camera.
    Then in the fall, got a 2-155 with a disk with hydraulic wings that were kept folded. On the back of the disk was a chisel plow that was controlled by the wing circuit as the wings weren’t used. As I recall it didn’t work very well as the weight was way off. Hard to believe that was 46 years ago.
    But one reason I love the Oliver white line.

    • @Oliver66FarmBoy
      @Oliver66FarmBoy  ปีที่แล้ว

      1974. Pictures would have been nice. There’s nothing of that nature from south bend.
