- The Career Challenges in GTA Online has been a great addition to the game. Give players a new and fresh way to engage with the game and it's (older) content, but the rewards don't always warrant the effort.

Yeah most guy already have the lost slamvan I got two of them myself. Should have something unique to get older players interested.

When I first logged on to the career thing I was kinda excited and curious, but then when I saw that most of my progress didn’t count I quit immediately lmao. I’ve made millions from businesses and it didn’t count so I wasn’t about to make millions again from each different business.
Facts it says I made 330 million
But only 12 million counts how

It really doesn't take as long as you think. I'm already almost done with special cargo. You're making it worse in your mind than the time it actually takes.
I didn't get a huge chance to do 3x cash on the hangers. But people who got to grind that all week are done with the hanger. It's fairly easy. Especially if you do the content on the bonus weeks.
I agree! I’ve been loving doing this. But the tier 1, 2 and 3 awards are often better than the tier 4 reward as it’s new stuff!

Heres Some of my Preferred Vehicles for tier 4 challenges So heres the ones i’ve thought about
Smugglers Run - Awards You With The V-65 Molotok Instead Of The Havok
Doomsday Heist - Awards You With The Akula instead of the Barrage
Original Heist - Awards you with the Savage instead of the Armoured Kuruma
Cayo Perico Heist - Awards you with the Torreador instead of The Winky
LS Drug Wars - Awards you with the Tahoma Coupe instead of the RV
Import/Export - Awards you with the X-80 Proto
San Andreas Mercenaries - Awards you with the F-160 Raiju
They should have put the lost slamvan or lost gang burrito instead of the deamon, with the winki they could have put anything else there to make it better, i think that if they put at least a squaddie or manches scout if they really wanted a military vehicle, and the armored kuruma couldve also been swapped to either an insurgent, savage or hydra becouse the kuruma is almost a requirement for the heists
Sad thing is the deamon was one of the MOST common motorcycle bikes in gta online to see in sandy shores and used by npcs before the removal. And from personal use when i got gta on PC back when it arrived. i can admit its a lemon compared to the better motorcycles from the Bikers DLC and so on. Such a awful reward
Paragon r reward for doing casino missions .... even though you get the armored version (which you can go passive mode in) for free for finishing the missions
Also what’s dumb is what it decided to count before release, like the amount of money made from businesses but nothing counted from Cayo Perico (pretty sure most people made $50m easily pre-cooldown nerf) or how it kept track of the number of Auto Shop & Agency contracts completed but not for The Clubhouse, even though it keeps track of it.
I started doing MC bizs sales casually when I retired from money grinding 2 years ago. Nothing else to do kuch in the game, so I had myself do something in the game.
Fast forward to mid 2023. I cleared the 25mil mc biz challenge from my document forgery sales alone 🤣
the PC version of GTA needs something like this RN
They should add rare cars as rewards, maybe some Auto shop RP points or even arena war rp.
It's really stupid to grind 50M$ from cayo to get a 500k trash car (which you can purchase it just by completing only one cayo)
Make the goal exciting to reach something that is not available something new for players to be eager about

I really like the addition of the career challenges, my only criticism is I already own 90% of the vehicles that tier 4 reward. I'm mostly motivated to get the LD organics van, and the clothing items. Gonna make a bunch of new outfits as a flex.

Yeah I get that lol, but I mean if they were unique, new,exclusive vehicles or at least rare and/or expensive older vehicles with exclusive unique liveries and/or mods that'd be good enough for me as in the case of the LD Organics van. As it is now all the other vehicles are no motivation to me at all, just the clothing.

I appreciate the terrible tier 4 rewards. It makes it easy to decide that I'm not going to try too hard to grind for them. It'd be cool to unlock the outfits, but I don't think my character would actually wear any of them anyway.
All of the unlocks should be unobtainable and unique, like the Lost Slamvan or even the Lost Gang Burrito for a Biker T4, a Cargo Plane or Skylift for a Smuggler's Run T4 (I'd sell my soul for that), or maybe even unique Ballistic Armour variants for a Gunrunning T3. Hell, the sole reason I got interested in them was the IAA shit from ULP. Imagine if Doomsday gave you the utility vest pouches in any camo or colour you wanted, Adversary modes giving you the unique BP helmets, body armours, etc for completing them, Original Heists giving you the original duffel bags, so on. There are SO many ways to make Career Progress worthwhile for literally any type of player.
The tier 4 vehicles should've all been new vehicles and/or at least had new exclusive liveries on them .
Rockstar seems to prove time and time again they don’t know how to make a satisfying progression system. Arena War, Tuners, and now this. The rewards should be reworked a bit.
Exactly. Everyone was so suped up about the DLC finale having a 3,000,000, ending and it didn't. Just enjoy the game.

I just finished grinding tier 4 of the contract and finally got the Youga Custom.
I don't see any other reward that trigger me...
Worst challenges are those you can't do alone those are a pain in the lower back as I hate playing with random and I don't have friends that still play this old game anymore... u_u

In the bleak hope they add more rewards to the Career Challenges, I'd like to see the following:
*Overall:* Larger cash rewards and better vehicles for Tier 4 Rewards, as well as more rewards for lower tiers, whether it be Cash payouts, unique clothing, or even non-timed discounts on vehicle sites.
*Classic Heists:* Something other than an Armored Kuruma for the Tier 4 reward.
*Bikers:* the Tier 4 vehicle reward being a Lost Slamvan instead of a Daemon.
*Diamond Casino Story:* The Diamond Strike Vest as a reward for any of the tiers.
*Diamond Casino Heist:* Each successive tier completion rewarding a permanent 5% chance to get Diamonds as the Target Loot on future runs, for a maximum chance of 20%.
*Cayo Perico Heist:* Each successive tier completion rewarding a permanent 5% chance to get the Panther Statue as the Target Loot on future runs, for a maximum chance of 20%.
The fact that my Cayo Perico heist count wasn't added to the count is enough to not do that career challenge. When i grinded that heist like crazy before Rockstar nerfed it to hell and tell us to go grind 50 million dollars for a challenge score. Hard pass!
Agreed... Some of the rewards suck, but at least it's better than the old achievements like doing 100 auto shop contracts for a measly 800RP and a little bit of money... But I will still be grinding them... Gotta get them protagonist outfits...🤘😎🤘
Just got the LD Organics van a half hour ago. It took days

Even as a Cayo Perico degen who played that heist way way too mutch a Winky for roughly 100 completed heists (if you steal 500k of secondaries on average) is gross
It should give you a one time ticket with wich you can buy any vehicle from that dlc for free.
I like the career tab but it's just a cooldown simulator. Also the contact missions are all unique so they should have mission based challenges not copy paste garbage.

I wonder what happens once you complete every single Challenge from Tier 1 - 4 Money? Easter egg? A Trophy? Limited edition item? A tour of Rockstar Head quarters?

this after the character transfer thing, just comes as a slap in the face of everyone who already had to do everything twice to still play on last gen, like now you get to do it again on next, YAY!

while I try and get the felzer to show up at the autoshop, given someone when going through the files about a year or so ago found references to an HSW upgrade for it, and knowing them and what they did with the sterling GT, a car I didnt like anyways

I think rockstar adding career challenges is alright because it gives me a reason to go back and try some of the older content that i haven't tried like the low rider dlc and the contact missions, but what bugs me is that tier 4 challenges are abit of pain, mainly because some of the challenges like earn a certain amount of money from each business it's time consuming and it didn't say i completed it when i did it already, also it would've been cool if they added unique cars from older gta games, unlocking cars that you can buy won't really motivate you to go for them because you might as well just buy them, the only exception is going for cars like the organics van or vehicles that were unique from old gta games, the character outfits is cool and all but i won't wear their outfits anyway so all in all its okay.

Most of these career challenges really require an insane grinding! Not worth at all considering most of these rewards! Rockstar should definitely adjust these requirements and make them more realistic! 🙄
I like the system, but things like $50m earnt from OG heists is ridiculous. We also need rare/unreleased cars for the Tier 4 completions. The LG Organics van is cool, but maybe the Lost Slamvan would have been a good idea too, as well as the rusty tractor and other Arena War reward vehicles.
Yeah the arena wars reward system is a joke… i got all the trophies in the cabinet & got to skill level 20 and i’m only at like rank 120 after doing like 800 matches or something… FUCK getting to level 1000 for a rusty tractor 😂

Lost Slamvan is terrible, bud.
Worse than Lamar's Youga.
Has worst break and acceleration.
Takes too long to break the van and atrocious on corners.
It's like driving a brick on wheels.
TLAD Lost Slamvan has far better driving and break mechanic than in 5.

Pretty tough one to get, unless you boost it.
The Tier 4 should defi nicely unlock a vehicle with a cool unique livery is definitely what shout be done. Getting the Ocelot Virtue, for example, for finishing the First and Last Dose missions is a textbook example of doing this right. The clothing items are not u unique enough to let a player truly flex. Even the Yung Ancestor version of the Casino Heist gave us unique clothes plus a cool car. That is how this should be done.
And year, making us do 100 missions WITH dropdowns no less, is bonkers.
Thatg said, I do agree the career missions did revitalize the game for grindere, and that is a good thing.
Sadly I can't be arsed, it's just too little too late!!! It's just too grindy and nothing new coming out 😏

They could’ve made tier 4 casino Ms.baker/the Duggin outfit
They shouldnt have recycled all the vehicles. Most long term players already have them unlocked from being grandfathered.
Gta doesn’t really have anything it can give as a reward
It either has clothing items, which no one cares about, cars, 95% of which could be bought at some point at the very least, maybe a weapon, but all of those can be bought and they don’t really have anything exciting they could add, money and rp after that much grinding is pointless….
I just don't care to revisit lots of content to redo a lot of things/grinding. When I have already done it... I've already made way more than 50 mill off the original heists. Not going back to that.
The career stuf is nice for team players. For solo players 90 % is blocked.

It would be nice if for the tier 4 challenge of the Kyle Perico heist, you could get the Torador with delivery that has the pressure mark two on it instead of having to pay eight dollars a month for that bullshit of GTA plus
The three most unique things in career progress to me are the organics van, 420 smoking jacket and luchadoras mask. I got them and now everything else is just meh. Maybe I’ll go for the IAA hoodie to go with the badge and hat. I do like this has made me deliver cars to Simeon to complete a tier 4, something I’ve never done.
The Tier Challenges are cool but I just play now for Sumo Remix and to buy cars.

They need to remove the play as Lamar career goal because I don't have friends and i cant find anyone to play it... it's preventing me from getting the van
i started playing gta 1 had a brake from gameing for 20 years and one day hepled my son that was stuck playing gta 5 ,i was like wooo look how far the game has come. now it looks old and is pass its time ,we need gta 6

The Western Daemon is a damn joke. it was the perfect time for Rockstar to implement the Lost slamvan. But no they decided to give everyone a bike you could steal off the street
I think the daemon is the biker DLC daemon what was more expensive and had more mods, but yea the point stands. what they could do is change the rewards but allow people to keep the vehicle they got from before. not sure how that would work as a login gifted car would need to be put in a garage but how do you do that if they have no garage slots? if the current system has a claim button tho it should be fine, change the reward, allow people to claim reward on that menu and place in a garage of their choice when theyre ready.
Would have been nice to have had a tier 4 challenge for OG contact missions.
And the bike repair business doesn't work for me.

I don't understand how this isn't on last gen. Like maybe in the future the rewards will be too demanding, but right now they aren't lol.
I guess it is a good roadmap to motivate new players.
I'm on PC, so, these challenges will never be a thing. Even then, I might do tier 1 to 3 for the sake of the challenge. But tier 4 rewards are lack luster. A car collector like me, has all those rewards already (aside of the "heroes" clothing but no Tommy Vercetti or CJ... comme on!). They could have given the most wanted rewards from the Arena because... you all know how RNG, tedious and a waste of time it quickly becomes... .
A wise man would say that the true reward is the road to get there (experience and memories)... but this is a bit of slap in the face.

They should have given all veteran players credit for all money made from businesses and heists. I made over 300 million doing El Rubio and the career challenge says $0 of 50 million. I realize that Rockstar wants us to play the missions and heists to earn more money but they could at least gave us half of what the full requirement was since awards and other stuff transfered over.
I think the issue with this system is “what is the point of it?” Everything they do with this game seems unthoughtful, pointless and just added to add stuff. Doing the Hatchet and Navy Revolver in the beginning helps new players jump start. As a player why would I care about this career system? If I do it cool, if I don’t cool. It won’t change how I play the game. I think rewards should be flipped. Big money in the beginning and exclusive outfits, items, vehicles, etc that help players with set ups, heists, mission etc. The way I see it is if I grind X then give me a reward so grinding X is now easier.
I need one more win to get the coil hoodie in the shooting range challenge but people keep quitting halfway through. Very annoying
I’ve been playing contact missions due to this and sure they’re ok but like damn these challenges are actually impossible
The contract is a long boring grind and survivals have been fun but Jesus Christ I am not doing the biker business challenges
Sure but for us on PC there isn't anything to keep us in game every lobby is filled with modders killing eachother I have no reason to play the game...
Not to mention that most of cars I already have and the only challenges are interesting for me is contract

don't think giving discount here and there would do anything at all. Let's face it, if you do a Tier 4 challenge you grinded 50 milion dollars, you don't need any discount because with all that money you can buy everything about that specific DLC even without deal price. Let me get an ACTUAL point to grind all that much.
Grinded 50 millions in CEO crates? Your next crates will be free of charge or your assistant will grab twice the crates for the same cost.
Grinded 50 millions in Cayo Perico? Get rid of te Tequila and let me spawn the panthere statue, even at a small percentage.
Grinded 50 millions in bikers sales? Get rid of the Post-Op van forever.
Grinded 50 millions in Casino Heist? Same as Cayo, get rid of the money and give me diamonds.
Most of us completed the Doomsday Heist finale for the free of charge Lester calls and it felt like an actual bonus. I don't need a Kuruma for fuck sake.

To put this in the perspective: GTA 5 was ps3/xb360 exclusive for a year, ps4/xb1 exclusive for half a year, and now they're gatekeeping E&E off PC for ONE AND A HALF YEARS.
I don't want to buy that obsolete plastic, that will be another dust collector in 2 years, when "ps5 ultra plus S pro" will release, just to have some new features, I need them on my PC and I need them yesterday.

Everyone here is complaining about the rewards in the career system while pc players dont even have that which i dont get with hsw they say its because of performance which is already a trash argument because performance isnt an issue mainly because the game is 10 years old but this is clearly so people buy the console version its so ridiculous

Its great for current gen but for pc players ill see you in the December update, cause I got nothing to do so whopie just give me six already cause the`ll never implement it for pc like gta plus and hos specials works its been a year. Its funny to think that the pc version is the inferiors version of gta kind of sad and Im not dishing 800 bucks so I can experience these lack luster additions oh well cool addition but ill never try it.
If the game runs right its awesome but today its been so gitchy. At one point I died on one ulp missions playing with 3 friends and it restarted me at a checkpoint on a totally different mission while my two friends remained on the original mission. I beat the end of the wrong mission it said great job then...mission failed 😥 Then I got headshots only fourth mercenary mission and I was under roosters radar jammer and the jet still blew me up costing me my career challenge of accuracy 😡😡😡

These challenges came way too late. I played this game for many years but stopped about 2 years ago and just can't be bothered anymore yet if this was introduced a while back, it would've probably kept the game fresh.
