"The photo collection of Sophus Tromholt is one of the few photo collections in the world included in UNESCO's Memory of the World International Register.
Tromholt traveled to Finnmark to photograph the Northern Lights, but instead came home with unique images of people and landscapes. Sigrid Lien, a professor of art history at UiB, is very fond of this photo treasure, even though it also represents a difficult past.
