Sir, you might want to edit the part where the shooter referred to Ronnie as having hair colored yellow. Ronnie told me when he was 13 or 14 that he used those words to describe his own color of hair.
Ronnie often and accurately used poetic license in his poetry. That was an example of poetic skill

They got the Lou part from Allen's grandmother. The woman's name that he danced with was Linda. I was standing there and heard her introduce her name as Linda. He had never met her before.

So the West Tavern is still there, under a different name? Do they have any photos, plaques or any memoribillia, etc, about the song and incident? That would be cool. I got to go to Jacksonville sometime, and see some of this stuff..surprised the gal needed a fake tan, in Florida?? I am surprised all the guys in the band were not as real tan, being they grew up in a Florida beach town..hot and sunny year round, right?

When you are inside practicing riffs all day you don't see much sun.

Hey Michael : Jax is huge in square mileage. From the westside to the beach is 30 miles thru town. Back in the 70s we had Toll bridges to go thru to cross the St Johns river so the commute could take more than an hour depending on traffic. I lived in Jax off & on since I was 3 years old & never saw Jax beach till I got a motorcycle & a driving permit at the age of 15.
