Thank you. I've been frustrated with the keyless look system on my car for 3 yrs, and you've soeted it in seconds! Small suggestion - the video quality is a bit iffy due to too much light/blur (?).
Just a thought. When my daughters use my car with lane keeping assist they complain. Figured out that one normally crowds the right side of the lane and the other crowds the left side. It seems it’s annoying to them to be nudged to the center. Probably won’t tell them how to disable it.
Lane Keep Assist isn't the button on bottom right of steering wheel. That's lane centering. Similar, but different. Lane Centering ONLY works when the car is using cruise control. It keeps the car centered, more or less, in the lane while in cruise control. Lane Keep Assist on the other hand can be set up to beep if you cross the line or correct if you approach the line. It can also detect if you're "swaying" - going from one line to another and operates when you are NOT using cruise control unless you turn it off. Lane Keep Assist you have to turn on/off using the touch screen. Outside of this your video is nicely done.
It depends on the car you have. If you have the 11.6 inch screen you are correct. But Subaru models with the 8inch screen, 2024 and older Forester, 23 and older Crosstrek, 2019 and Older Outback 2022 and older Impreza the steering wheel button does both lane keep assist and lane centering. The 8 inch screen doesn't offer any controls for eyesight on the touchscreen. Thanks for watching and commenting
No way for a dealer in the US to do it(against the law). Not sure if they can do it in Australia. I recommend buying seatbelt clips from a junk yard or amazon and clipping them into the back seatbelts
I have one, 2018 crosstrek, I though my cruise control as on the blink because it did not engage, and the fix was simple, buckle ing th sesat belt and it was all normal, I often would jump in the car and buckle the belt on the road, and I am a cruise control user on surface streets, so I did this and took my usual route out. and thought WTF is wrong with the cruise control, then just fastened the belt and was able to put1+1 together easy enough, about the cc being disabled when you are not buckled. However, I had this epiphany on more than one occasion. so as the idiot I sometimes am I thought it worth mentioning.
OK.. Just bought a 24 Ascent. Is Apple Car Play WiFi ?? or is it its own RF system ??You cant do maps and txt on Bluetooth so you have to turn it off.... so how does your phone CarPlay converse with your car system ?.. Thank You ( BruceLF )
replace all white interior lights with red (led) lights. red won't destroy your night vision and it makes you feel like your are doing secret night ops when they are on. Hopefully you won't have to cut certain color wires as the red light does mess with the eyes ability to discern/distinguish certain colors 🔴🔴🔴

Need help on my 2021 Forester Touring. On the information screen I use to have one screen that gave me all the info at one time. Outside Temp, Inside Temp, Oil Temp, date, time. One day it disapeared. I went to TH-cam and tried lots of things to get it back but nothing worked. I can go to the info button ans scroll through all the screens but that screen does not show up. I went to my local dealer and they had no idea what I was talking about. Is there a fix or am I going crazy? lol
Hi, it sounds like you had the “Favorite Screen” displayed. Here is a link to the owner’s manual. Section 3-9 on page 208 discusses the upper infotainment screen on the 2021 Forester. cdn.subarunet.com/stis/doc/ownerManual/MSA5M2102A_STIS_opt.pdf
I have never seen a screen that had all that info before. Most of that info is available on the car but not all at once. I have never seen a setting that give the inside temp on any Subaru before
I bought the car in May of 2021 and had that screen until sometime in January of 2024. I don't think it was a dream. I am just wondering if when I updated my system it could have put a new menue on my screen. I know it does't make sense. @@scsubaruschoolwithevan
The tail will not open by grabbing the door handle. It will only open the drivers door(for safety). It is a setting you can change on the car. I changed my Outback to open all the door when you grab the door handle. Check out my video on the keyless entry system. It's very easy
Thanks for the clarification. Since its a Crosstrek you don't have a trunk like a sedan does. Your tailgate is considered a door. You can only unlock it from the key fob. You will never be able to open it. Some of the bigger cars have power tailgates which is why you can open from the key. I hope this helps.@@ritaisabelle6034
The touch screen is horrible. So slow and with moving all the controls, hvac etc to the screen it’s an accident waiting to happen. Second the CarPlay just disconnects itself at times. When I try to reconnect it it tells me unavailable. Sometimes it will connect a while later. Sometimes hours later. I’ve had 3 outback’s and they all have the same issue. Subaru has don’t nothing to improve it. This is my last Subaru unless the revert back to control knobs and switches.
Thank you so much for the info.We have a new 2024 outback and we are having trouble getting the lift gate to open by holding our hands over the emblem . Is this a common problem? Thank you Bob
It is a very common problem. It is probably one of 4 things. 1st: you must have the key close. 2nd: the off button has been pushed inside the car. 3rd: you are getting too close to the logo. Just place your had a few inches away. 4th you are waiving your hand not keeping it steady. As soon as you hear the 1st beep pull your hand away. I hope this info helps.
Sorry,about the punctuation problem! I never graduated,high school,but I did get a GED,highschool,equivalent certificate,when I was in a field hospital tent for a week,when I was in Viet Nam in 1968!Sorry,I guess I am just a dunce!
why does Subaru still allow you in 2019+ to be able to lock your keys in your car (at least on non-push start cars)?? Sure, a special set of circumstances have to happen, but the driver door lock should not remain locked when the door is shut and the lock is in the lock position. the physical key should have to be used to lock the driver's door after it is shut. Also, why doesn't the key hole on the driver door control the other 3 doors? Yes, none of this is an issue if you use the fob to lock the doors; again, why I said a special set of circumstances has to happen to lock your keys in the car. But it can still happen nonetheless.
All of these tricks and workarounds clearly demonstrate a lack of design and functionality by the Subaru engineers. It’s obvious that they need to do a better job of making the car user friendly.

You should be able to select On all the time, Off all the time, or On when door is opened.
