98¢ Mojito vs Proper Mojito

I make two Mojitos, one as cheap as I can and one with more expensive proper ingredients. Then compare.
Cheap version
1.5 oz Bacardi Superior Rum $0.45
3/4 oz Realime Juice $0.10
1 oz 2:1 Rich simple syrup $0.01
5-6 oz club soda $0.42
10 mint leaves
TOTAL $0.98
Expensive version
1.5 oz Plantation 3 Stars Rum $1.55
3/4 oz Lime Juice $0.38
1 oz 2:1 Rich simple syrup $0.01
5-6 oz club soda $0.42
10 mint leaves
TOTAL $2.36

Good video Tony. I'd like to see you do a 4way comparison using one rum in 1 with bottled lime and fresh lime in the other, then again with the other rum in 1 with bottled lime and fresh lime in the other, to see which lime works best with each rum

I guess it's possible that a bottled lime juice is better with a specific rum but in my experience the fresh lime juice is always better. It has a natural "bright" flavor that makes the drink taste more real. You can definitely taste if it recently came out of a fruit or not.

No question- Plantation is far better than the Bacardi.
