    Great video into the the mystery that is pedal boards. (To me at least) Love the Stomp and how you've integrated it into your pedal board giving me great insight of a possible future direction, although the Stomp maybe 'a pedal too far' for my budget. I was looking at the more 'affordable' but less capable Boss GT-1. Love these 'how to..' segments. Great sounds and playing once again! God Bless in all you do Rumblin Man!

    Use a Ernie MVP pedal and you get no tone loss. I like it first but some it after. You get more drive at lower level. I would try a comp like JHS Tiddy diddy or Wampler mini and put it all in the front instead of the loop Seems to sound better to me. My sound is more sparkly but I’m using a amp You have much better eq in the stomp. Boost to lead off. RC. great for the money. Also strymon and vertex both super clean. Michael britts IRS are far superior. Doing a good job just trying some things that work for me. I use a QSC K12 because I double on keyboard. I just added the new strymon. Awesome. I’ve had helix and kemper feels like a amp. It’s far the best. Keep up the good work.

    hi! your vids are really informative! ive got a question.. in what order should i use my pedals on the fx loop of the hx stomp? i recently bought an hx stomp and want to incorporate my other pedals.. mainly a tuner, boss ns2, wah, carbon copy deluxe,horizon device precision drive. and planning to get a revv g4. i hope you could give me some advice. thanks!

    • @RumblinMan
      @RumblinMan  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Arctic Frost I would usually place drives before modulations, and modulations before the amp. Then delays and reverbs after the amp. That’s how I would do it. So you have to place the FX loop wisely for sure.

    I'm about to buy one of of these units for modulations and some effects and you definitively got me closer. I just have one question though. How would you connect it using the 4 cable methods? I prefer to send modulations before preamp, separete from distortions.

    Thanks in advance.

      You can order these things in the effects line - just put the fx loop before the amp/cabinet simulators.

    Hi Rumblin man, I have a question: how it works the HX stomp with the Caline Pure Sky? I´m still using my cheap pedalboard, and I love the Pure Sky

    • @RumblinMan
      @RumblinMan  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Andrés Cisterna the Pure Sky could sound really nice in the FX Loop if you use the right amp setting!

  • @OhmyShariff
    @OhmyShariff 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    That was very useful and informative thanks for doing it. Have you tried using main pedals in front of the helix, then using other pedals in the loop? I’ve just ordered my stomp and would like to use my boss looper with my other pedals, then combine with the helix amp / cabs and maybe a couple of effects .... I’m a little confused as to where to put my looper so that it captures all effects. If anyone can help please shout out! Thanks.

      My Ditto x2 sits at the end of my pedalboard chain then into my WireTap then into my Marshall Origin amp. I would think that after your HX would be the right way to do it. You would want the amp sims in the loop right?

    • @RumblinMan
      @RumblinMan  3 ปีที่แล้ว

    Excellent video! Question: I'd like to get the HX stomp effects out ..........in to a Grace Design Alix which I use for acoustic guitar. I have the proper Y cable. How would I get the effects out only for my acoustic instruments (there is no need to return back to the HX)? Thanks

    • @RumblinMan
      @RumblinMan  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Man I honestly don’t know. So sorry. I assume FX loop.

    • @richardblackett8164
      @richardblackett8164 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@RumblinMan Line 6 helped me out with this one after I asked the question here. SOLUTION: 1. Within the edit of the channel you're using (34A for example) add a "Send FX" box after the effects; 2. connect a 1/4" from the HX "SEND" into the Grace Design "IN" (or whatever pre-amp you're using). Your guitars will all plug into the HX as normal. When you're on 34A your acoustic will NOT send a signal out of the HX but rather through the Grace Design (your external pre-amp). However, when you switch to an electric guitar channel (37A for example) the signal will come out of the HX and not the external pre. I hope this makes sense. It works perfect and you'll only need one guitar cable (I use a G30 wireless & it's easy to switch from acoustic to electric while on stage.) Thanks for replying and I hope this proves helpful to others.

    Great video! How is it, if im using different amp cabs and simulations, but still using my actual fender blues deluxe, is there a point???

    • @RumblinMan
      @RumblinMan  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Pearu Pindre hey bro! At that point there isn’t appoint unless you’re using the Stomp strictly for effects.

    • @AndrewCCM
      @AndrewCCM 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      If you use your fender in clean you can still use the amp modeling to modify its tone. Or you can use the return on your amps effects loop to just use its power section (no preamp). There is also a way to run the 4 cable method to use your amp as the preamp back into the HX and back out into the return of amp. That way you can use the tone from amps pre, but through pedal and cab simulation back to speaker.

    just watch most of your Stomp videos and ready to hit the button , just one question...since there are 2 fx loop ( L and R ) I assume that you can have 2 indipendent loops...am I correct ? If yes how do I connect to 2 differents pedals ? Goal is for me to be able to change order of the pedals being in the loop like invert the order comp/octaver wich are 2 of the pedals i'll be running with the Stomp. Hope I've made myqself clear and anyway thanx for posting very clear "how to" videos

    What would you do about stereo pedals in the effects loop? It looks like it only works with mono input and output.

    • @RumblinMan
      @RumblinMan  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Joshua Medendorp I’m pretty sure you can run stereo pedals using the FX Loop. You create a mono FX Loop block and do a mono send from the Stomp to the pedals, but then do a stereo return into the stomp. I should make a video about that!

Ya know what’s funny though. I recently got rid of a volume pedal that was shorting out, and I realized that the volume pedal had been changing my tone and that my rig sounds way better without it. Weird I know!

      Make sure you have your input impedance to instrument and not line level. It’s in the first spot right before your blocks start. You may need to modify levels as well.
