How do you fill in holes? I only got stardew valley and accidentaly made a lot of holes 😫
One of the tips I have is making 4 chests and colour them differently for each season, so you can put the crops you put back into these chests depending on their season, you can add leftover seeds into them as well and just have handy chests that are organized.
The ability to change chest colours is way too overlooked, so have some fun and stay organized!

I usually color code mine for the types of items instead. Green for crops, blue for fish, black for crafting mats, grey for tools, etc.

I have mine sorted by category, so I have minerals, building materials, crops, seeds, important stuff(community center stuff/quest items) the different qualities of crops or items, artifacts and misc for everything else

Its a lot at first for sure. But this game is meant to play for years and years, you dont have to get rich quick if you dont want to. Relax and have fun with it, and get to know all of the villagers as well :)
@@charlene2789 i got it on switch 5 days ago and really got into it. i'm about 45 hours in and on my second year. once i read that the game keeps going even after the third year, i just figured i didn't need to worry too much about time limits
Don't open a garbage can if another villager is within 7 squares of you - lowers friendship points.
WHAT NO D: I just was playing for the first time today and I opened one in front of like three people by accident and one of them said something to me and I felt bad, but I didn’t think it’d lower friendship points!!

You just bought the game! Congrats and say good bye to life for a least a month or longer! Thus game is so addicting I played it over and over for over a year. And I still come back to it! Can't believe this game is done all by one guy! And so many great mods too!

as a complete beginner so far i have to say this is the best guide I've found. I can't tell you how many so called 'beginner' guides on other channels spurt way too much overwhelming info in foreign terminology that beginners don't understand yet.

Kasia Night, I'm new in the game, just started last night and these tips are actually helpful. Why hate on the guy, don't watch if you find it too cringe 🙄
A tip I fidn really useful as a new player is when in the mines always bring a hoe, most levels have a dirt patch where you can hit it with a hoe and you can collect things like cave carrots (perfect for an emergency snack) and artifacts and geods!
I figured this one out on my own!
Another is you can shake trees by just interacting with them for a chance of getting seeds!

When you chop down trees, they always fall down the opposite side of where your character is standing. So when cutting trees near water, you can cut them from the opposite side of where you want them to fall down.

This! 100%. I loooove animal crossing. Played it religiously for almost a year straight until i completed mostly everything and it became repeatitive. StarDew has a lot more variables and i'm loving it. Hope you've enjoyed it too! It's been a year since u posted this so im curious. Lol

I have some more tips:
Don’t spend too much time in the caves or fishing until your first winter - a couple of days each months only
Get animals early on, I recommend 3 - 4 chickens because they are easy to feed during the winter
Make a mayonnaise maker as soon as you have chickens
Save at least 3 of each item you get
Talk to as many people as you can every day
Make tons of chest and ORGANISE THEM, the 4 main categories I have atm are foraged, fruits and vegetables, fish and cave stuff. I colour code my chests too.
Invest in a heater for your animals in the winter

FYI the luck does NOT affect what items you get from geodes. The only effect luck has on geodes is the chance to find them from rocks. Go ahead and process them as soon as you find them.

Ugh I wish I found this comment sooner. I just watched this video like 2 hours ago and was saving my geodes for a lucky day and haven’t got any lucky days this whole time and I’ve been dying to crack them open! I figured I would double check this geode luck business and the wiki says: “Luck does not increase the chance to receive rare gems and artifacts from geodes.” So I’m going to finally crack them open rn on an unlucky day lol. But if I had just scrolled down and saw your comment a couple hours ago when I watched this I wouldn’t have wasted time lol
@@316nicolez geode 'luck' is determined on the order of the geode opening during that day.
For example to get an iridium ore you need to open the omni geode first instead of the frozen geode.
So unless you have a third party program predicting how you should open the geode, there isn't any luck based on it.

As a veteran player, I still like watching these "beginner guides", to see if I missed anything or could do anything better. I wonder if there's a mod to change the color of the hit square. I don't like that it's that annoying red...red is my favorite color, but I'd rather something different...[shrug] I'll have to hunt.
It's also important to note that, if you miss Sunday, Wednesdays play re-runs of Queen of Sauce. I may be that muppet...
My additional advice for the silo/coop is that, once you fill up the silo, stop scything. Then build the coop, go into the coop and take out all of your hay (must be done before you feed any animals) and store it in a box. Then go back to harvesting more grass for food. Rinse and repeat until all grass is gone. You can always add the hay back in later, and you get a nice, clean farm. It also helps you stock up for winter and beyond.
I love the mixed seeds. They're the best. I get your point with selling the parsnip seeds...especially once you get fertilizer. It'll help you get the gold parsnips. I'm gonna take that advice next play-through.
I like the iridium ring with the slime ring as a combo, personally. I see you use 2 IRs, which is great for Skull Cavern, I might bring the extra with me when I'm not dealing with slimes. But I hate being slowed down by those blobby bastards.
P.S. Your mod is pretty. I do agree you should've done the beginner's guide in vanilla-look, for the true newbies. But the mod you use makes your game so pretty.

I don’t even know if you’ll see this, but if you get the GeneralConfig mod, you can change it there :)
Planting potatoes gives more profit, but if you plant and harvest those first 15 parsnips you will level up your farming skill in 4 days and be able to craft a scarecrow before you plant your next set of crops. The crows won't eat your crops if you have 15 or less. Also, your crop quality will increase as your skill level increases (along with using fertilizer), so you might as well use the cheapest crop to increase your first skill level. You will need parsnips anyway for the community centre.
I’d actually recommend planting your parsnips since harvesting them all gives you enough farming xp to get to level one
You can also level up from just using the potato strat, plus you get more profit from the amount of work spent on it.
This feels like a combo between The Sims and Minecraft
throw in animal crossing somewhere in that mix and it’s basically stardew valley

I've played Stardew countless times, and to be honest, I do now sometimes go the JoJa route.
However, for beginners absolutely do the Community Center. The rewards given for the small bundles are so helpful in the early game.

Im only on fall 2nd year and i started playing 11 months ago they said this game is relaxing but when i play it stresses me out

If you are REALLY NEW to the game, buy the cheap "training" fishing rod until you learn and get some levels up. The green box is much larger. You will like it MUCH better.
@sharkygames Please review what you said about geodes. Luck affects the chance to drop geodes from breaking rocks, not what you get from geodes. What you'll get from geodes is predetermined at the start of the game and the only way to change that is to break different kinds of geodes (frozen, omni,...) in a different order. I wouldn't want people to waste their good luck days, so break them on a bad luck day as what you'll get from them will be the exact same (try resetting on good/bad luck days and break them in the same order and see)

Luck doesn’t affect geodes, the contents of each are determined when your game is created. That’s why the predictor app can tell you for each break what you would get when you crack them. Other than that, nice one!

Yes, absolutely. That is the reason the Stardew Predictor web app exists and can tell you what you get opening different geodes if you load your save to it. Unless you have a mod that might affect it, it has always been 100% spot on for me. The geodes are part of what’s determined by the creation of your game, like the traveling merchant stock every Friday and Sunday.

I always change the left and right click to , and . In the control menu in PC. It is quieter than clicking on the trackpad and most mouses. It plays like the switch version but you can still choose exactly where you place things( on the diagonals) with the mouse. It’s also easier to click and I find it quicker to mine and fishing with left click is so much easier.

First spring, you'll probably get the spring forageable seeds. These aren't "crops" so crows wont go after them. Don't worry about them being covered by a scarecrow.

I got a new external hard drive so I decided to download some games. For some reason, the name “Stardew Valley” came up in my head. I didn’t know anything about the game, I just knew that one person made it, and that I liked the pixel graphics of it. I’ve been playing for 2 days, and I’ve fallen in love with it.
There’s this charm that you only get from indie games, and this game proves that.

Hey dude, great video. You're one of my favourite game players. But just a little correction. Geodes does not get any affection about the lucky. The mineral you get from those are pre-settled and if you look in the wiki, you'll see that doesn't affect to get better or worst gems. Btw sorry bout my English. I'm not a native speaker
