I have travelled to 80 countries so far on an Indian passport, as a solo 30-yr old working in the UK. A lot of the advice offered here is absolutely golden! Personally, I do not plan too much and never carry any more than cabin baggage, which saves a lot of hassle when flying low-cost carriers in Europe and South America. Additionally, for accommodation, one hack to consider is that book a couple of days in a location through an aggregator, but beyond that, directly ask around in the hostels, hotels etc. This works well in many locations. Sightseeing can be optimised if staying in hostels by visiting in groups that may form there (which is one reason to prefer hostels over hotels if travelling solo and if the location's safety profiles permit). Personally, I always avoid tour guides unless absolutely necessary, but as mentioned in the video, sometimes guides can expedite entry and facilitate other advantages.

Totally!!! India is the best. I never really had the craving to travel abroad despite having the financial liberty. Most people don't even travel the length and breadth of the country first but start going abroad and travel for most nowadays is merely a number of countries they visited which serves as a status symbol.

Great content. Would have loved to here more on the followigs -
1.Leveraging travel credit cards like Amex platinum travel, axis atlas. These are major game changers and has got us free hotel nights many times)
    2. Leveraging visas : once have a US, UK or schengen visa and till that visa is valid, many other countries offer voa or even visa free entry ( like singapore, Philippines, turkey etc.) . Also, dubai has 48 hour free transit visa, great way to see the city in between journeys.
    3. More on the finance distribution of trips. For younger adults if we accumulate 10% of our savings each month, we may not have the money to do international trips each year. Making a 2 or 3 year plan with mix of domestic and international trips would help to plan that.

I don’t understand whenever someone shares their foreign travel experiences, people instantly say there are so many places in India why travel abroad?
Someone who travels abroad, also tends to travel a lot more within India, its about a passion for travel. However, foreign cultures are also a great way to understand about the history of the world, different cultures, wars, mythology & customs. It also gives a great insight into what we do well as a country and what we could do better. For me foreign travels have also busted many myths, strongly reinforced others.
For example Europe… with all its beauty, history still has racist undertones. Post my travels, I would never want to settle in Europe because you will never be equal in their minds. Dangerous places like Mexico, have been wonderful… met some really wonderful people while we didn’t understand their language, still they were extremely welcoming & warm. Places like Kazakhstan … are so developed & have such welcoming people. Eastern Europe is very different to Western Europe. Bangladesh has very confident women than India on an average, which most Indians wouldn’t expect. Almost all countries that I have been are unfortunately safer for women than India and are extremely respectful towards women. Foreign travel opens your eyes and breaks your deep rooted perceptions.
Ps: A very proud Indian 🇮🇳

Having done 7 countries myself, I feel among Indians ‘foreign travel’ is seriously overrated. It’s more about Instagram stories than actually experiencing. Saying this as I found a lot of desis crib about not getting Indian food in some cities which in my opinion is a stupid expectation.
Moreover spending too much time planning which of course is recommended, kinda makes it more of a hassle rather than an enjoyable experience.
I like taking holidays for putting my feet down and relaxing. Running around for sticking to a schedule, checking currency conversion time to time kills the fun.

What is the obession with travel people have developed.. especially international.. vacation once in a while is okay.. but counting the countries, going through all the hassles of pre-packing, post vacation fatigue, getting everything sorted like flights, hotels, tickets, visa, jetlag and whatnot.. the complete vacation thing is extremely exhausting and people have glorified this "traveling" as if that is the goal of life. Goal should be to relax from the daily grind and a small get away from monotonocity, instead of counting countries and expending exorbitant amount of money on it. Just hop into your car and go for a road trip for couple of days!

Disneyland and universal? I dont think indians in general understand what genuine travelling and exploring a place means. And i dont blame them. Very few have disposable income in their 20s or want to go through visa hassles. By the time they travel in their late 30s and above, they are stuck doing such uncle holidaying.
Backpacking, driving around the country, hiking etc are foreign concepts.
Anyways, to each, his own. Main thing is to stay at peace on such trips.

From the size and decor of their houses it is apparent that they don't need to budget that much and are earning far more than average. It is a complete waste taking children below 15 for travel on international t🎉rips as most kids dont have any interest nor understand the sights. Better to travel within india cheaper and have more comforts. There is so much to see in India itself and parents need to show their kids tgeir own country and create that interest for them so that they have good memories instead of leaving tge country for a foreign one without even knowing what the country has to offer. People are blindly spending huge amounts of money educating kids abroad for status or other reasons when education quality has improved a lot here. Of course the kids have to work much harder in India to achieve success.

The budget that they're saying is non sense. It's too over hyped. I just did Thailand / Malaysia / SG / Vietnam for 80k combined. I stayed in 4* in SG and 4* in other countries. Flights were cheaper for me at 30k for the whole trip.
