I’ve never been a fan of any T Bar setup, but apart from that the bike is stunning! Love the TBR sound, and that paint is awesome! I’ve never ridden a Fat Boy, need to change that. ✌️
Interestingly the longer i rode it, the better the bars became. The Fat Boy is a fun bike and you can make them look great - I still think the Street Glide is the way to go - especially for the travel you do
I test rode a new 107 Fat Boy in 2017. I was impressed with the bump in power of the new M8. Torquey, extremely comfortable (like a rolling La-Z- Boy), and the Black & blue two-tone paint with that BEAUTIFUL silver V-twin about made me drool! One of the few bikes I would keep completely stock. So why didn't I buy it? Five reasons: 1) Too comfortable; a stiff suspension makes me feel more emotionally connected to the road. 2) Too slow; the top end dies where the V-ROD breathes fire. Though the torque of the M8 Fat Boy would smoke my V-ROD on the launch, the smooth, seemless & intoxicating powerband of the V-ROD Revolution engine shines as it rockets through 9k rpm & 6th gears (it's just a different kind of thrill). Too nice: I'd spend more time cleaning & polishing it than I would riding it (and get a heart attack if a bird crapped on it). Mostly painted plastic and aluminum on my MUSCLE, nothing to keep polished but the engine side covers & swing arm. 4) It's a fat trap: You don't have to look like a f$#@&% Tarzan to look & feel cool on a Fat Boy like I do with my V-ROD. Two years owning a Fat Boy would probably turn me into a fatboy. My MUSCLE keeps my muscle in the gym (pardon the pun). 5) Just didn't suit my modern & sporty taste: I prefer Corvette over Cadillac though both are nice. So I bought another V-ROD MUSCLE instead (a new 2017, I already had a 2010 MUSCLE). Both gloss black & customized, I called them "my Evil Twins". I later sold the 2010 to get a hightop custom Chevy van (you can imagine how much more fun the wife & I have with that). I know, my comments are always too long. My friends gave me two nicknames: "V-ROD" and "Robojaw". You could have guessed, right? Heh. Heh!
V-RODs definitely appeal to a minority. Simular to a 2002 Pontiac Firehawk: Many people would say it's an impractical, uncomfortable, low-budget Sportscar while others like myself see it as a thrilling machine and a gem. Keeps the world interesting I guess. I'm glad we're not all clones.
Somewhere in Harley history I read the name "Fat Boy" comes from the way the bike looks a bit wider than other bikes when seen head-on. I own the 2022 Harley Fat Boy in vivid black and it's my favorite Harley. I wish they'd left the wheels solid but the Lakester wheels are okay. The bike has plenty of power, the new frame gives the bike a sweet ride, I like the fat tires but they take a bit of getting used to when taking slow sharp corners. I'm going to replace the stock seat because it's uncomfortable on long rides which is too bad because I like the look of it. There is a problem with many of the new Fat Boys in that the front disc brake makes a clunking sound as you apply them. You can physically move them and feel the looseness., I'm taking this up with the dealer, I hope they step up to the plate and fix it, I've heard some dealers tell the owners that's just the way it is where other dealers address the problem and fix it. The brake noise is not a deal breaker and I could live with it. I'm anxiously awaiting the spring so I can ride again and take some trips to eastern Washington. I don't like riding in the rain and Seattle has way too much of it. Great video, thank you!

This is a beautiful Fatboy, brother! I have one myself and I love , it! It's a hot rod on two wheels, if I keep on , I'll change the swing arm out to put the new Breakout wheels on it. Your friend is a very kind and generous man , maybe you wouldn't want to insult him by giving it back. Was he three sheets to the wind when he gave it to you? Hahaha! Lovely bike. Strange what you say about getting more muscular just by owning one. Since I have had mine my biceps seem the same size but my stomach is already massive. Also made me laugh what you said about it feeling nimble, or words to that effect, when I first Road a Harley cruiser it felt like a battle ship. However I have been riding my 04 King a lot recently then got back on the fatty today only to find that it’s like a noble little crutch rocket. I even left a Ducati behind (only 3 cars behind over a 5 mile stretch) but what a joy to ride. Sound great. Looks great.
