Yes. The answer is yes.
No. The answer is sometimes, like, "is the current fast and strong enough.".?
@@majkdave No, the answer is yes. To the question "can a waterwheel generate electricity?", the answer is yes. The question was not "under what conditions can a waterwheel generate electricity?".
@@majkdavegear reduction
Stupid ass question, obviously it can
Such innovation...
For the production of electricity of higher voltage, a generator should have:
1. Stronger magnets
2. More turns in its coil
3. Quick relative motion between the
magnet and coil

can you help me out tonight

I believe this is done at the box where it has a gear ratio change. The wheel is turning slow with a lot of torque and that can mean a smaller gear turning faster with less torque.
depending on the load requirement the gear ratio would need adjustment
I agree 100%, running way too slow unless it’s under 100% load
@@gjohns316 probably charging so seems like it's loaded down
It’s charging batteries it’s not direct flow
It is a good idea but it can produce more electricity if the vans of the waterwheel faces the follow of the riverflow rather than the vans against the follow of the water.
Good point
It's kinda counter intuitive but most are this way, so I'm pretty sure it's more efficient. I think they're at an angle with a hole drilled in the corner so the water can be drained out as it's entering on the other side..
I've actually researched this a lot, I'm going to buy a couple wind turbines melt small plastic cups that can catch water at the tips. That way ya can use it the rain snow or shine as long as you can access a creek..
That’s what creates the force for it to spin, it would be cool to engineer a water wheel you can manually adjust all vans at the same time in the same angles.
You want the vanes to be in the direction they are in to catch the water. You do want the inside diameter to be at the same level as the water though for the best efficiency.
What would you want electricity for when you can listen to that banjo drive you around the bend...😅😅
😂😂😂😂
Haven’t laughed so hard in ages.
#banjo sound .😂😂😂😂
The waterwheel isn’t placed in the right direction. The “shovels” should get the water inside, and not from the outside. Dont know if you understand me, but it’s like taking the soup with a spoon that is upside down.
They are turned the right way. Problem is they are too deep in the water. And that causes extra drag.
I agree with @reznap0002
Most of countries use flowing watsr to generate electricity and supply to all of houses and residents
“Can a waterwheel produce electricity?”
. . . Have you heard of a Dam?
Preppers should get water wheels for electricity generation in addition to wind turbines and solar panels.
how much power does it make though, and does it even work in the winter
It the same as dam
Electric
But dam
They fill up before they release
So I expect around 150w
Or 100w or even more
Moving water doesn't freeze easily. That's why you are supposed to leave your faucet dripping when it's really cold out
It would take an electrical engineer about an hour to explain why numerous complex control systems would be required to maximize this setup's electrical power output and to match it to either a battery or some other load that can except the variable output power ie as the stream speed varies daily or seasonally.
There are very few modern electrical loads that can directly accept this setups unguaranteed output voltage, power AND frequency, presuming its an AC generator. Note that the power and voltage comment applies to a DC generator...
Directly driving a drum to wash clothes, a spindle to turn wood, or maybe a rotisserie is possible, but seriously how many people would bother today...?
99% of the time IMO comments are a waste of time... few people read them, and even fewer people appreciate them. The comment process gives people a false or minimal indeterminate sense of contributing something of value. Most people don't care to hear other random people's oppinions. Most facts are useless drivel with zero useful factual objective information.
I would be surprised if more then one person appreciates THIS comment... and there is no guarantee that anyone will.
Can’t wait for rockstar to add this feature in rdr3
So can this be adjusted for different heights of the river flow? There are constant ebbs and flows that change the height of rivers constantly. I see this mechanism being extremely damaged when a river swells and a fallen tree smashes into it....
That whole steel beam rotates allowing the wheel to rise with the river and roll over any debris.
My power company has the same issues. A tree falls across the line, a squirrel chews into a transformer, a thunderstorm knocks it out a car hits a pole. ECT.
It’s adorable.
the turbine can be lowered for a little more power, more powerful magnets to pull, after those combinations has been tweaked to it's best potential you'll have power for days.
Actually you would want to raise it. Inside of the vane circle should be no deeper in the water than the surface of it.
So relaxing .
Dam exits should be designed to utilize many of these, especially in the white water.
Great idea BUT . . .
This 'Inventor' should just have BROADENED THE BLADES running in the water to have DOUBLE or TRIPLE the GENERATING CAPACITY as this Stream of water totally allows for that to be done !
TORQUE on driving Shaft would immediately multiplied and thus the GAIN of electricity also increased at MINIMAL COST INCREASE.
🤓🤓🤓🤓🤓🤓🤓🤓🤓🤓🤓
At this point I think it is going the wrong way if it's trying to catch, store and use energy 😊
Yep.. which s why it's going so slow. Makes me wonder how much resistance it's turning.. VS how much power it's making.
That wheel moves slow which means you'll need a gear between it and the generator. You could reshape the wheel so it spin faster but you'll still need a gearbox unless you water to dam the river/stream

Not the right place to put this. I'm a believer in Christ, but this does NOT belong here.
@@OFFGRID_Trucker the devil wants people to believe it is never the right place, never the right time, and never the right way. ❤️ Why do you think this is not the right place? Where is the right place, if this is not? Any place, any time, to everyone as God directs, and enables walking according to the Spirit of God.
having a flowing water resource is also convenient
Looks like they're about 15% efficient with that setup... Look at all the white water around that thing
Just look at the relative speed of the water vs the wheel, it’s much less than 15%
how about making it lighter weight? and how much the power production is approx?
Just use car alternator, 150A @ 14v
Car alternator requires much higher speed but also wastes about 50% of the energy as heat.
Dams do it all the time.
Dam good idea too.
dam right
I mean, yeah.
Well? Can it? 😂
With damming and batteries you can also store the energy
Are u people engineers?
You have the bloody vanes on the water wheel backwards!
Tide goes in and out smart guy 😂😂 so the water comes both ways
@@loveformoney1402looks like a river to me, pretty sure they only flow one direction. Tides are for the ocean.
Someone, please please tell me what tune this is.
Why not !
Every thing is possible 👍
Maybe im just really high but dude nah yall mfs don't get to skip over how it looked like they was moving a fuckin island for a second
That wheel is so ascetic its dysfunctional lol
Is there no way to create another wheel or something powered by the bigger wheel that increase the current generated into the bigger wheel? 👀
How does it turn to electricity
You don’t even need water…. Just magnets…. Look at Stonehenge or other monoliths that have magnetic energy around them.. if, perhaps you build a small Stonehenge using poles with magnets then attach a long wheel or fan with magnets attached which then attach to a generator, then that propulsion alone would allow the wheel to turn using positive and negative friction to power the generator thus creating electricity…. So many ways but the easier the better and water might not always be in that area so it’s better better to create something self-sustaining with her without the presence of additional elements
Sooo it does work??
My same question
Of course, it works.
@roachdoggjr1940 but HOW? How does the wheel transfer the electricity, what do you need to forge to make spark?
@ojpimpson3343 oh. You think electricity is magic.
You must cast magic missile on the mind stone.
@@roachdoggjr1940 No, if the power went out, I realized that I don't know how to generate electricity or make a battery to run anything.
The fins on this wheel need movement comming downward vertically to use gravity. The way it is has too much resistance from being slightly down in the water. Perpendicular (90degrees) to the edge of the wheel, i would think, would be🙂better. If you have it just touching the water, i wonder if the wheel would turn backwards when the wind blows the top of the water on a river the opposite up-river dirrection😂?.
It needs to spin a lot faster. Where's the meter to show power output?
How much kw does that produce in an hour?
Cheer~~~a form of energy resulting from the existence of charged particles (such as electrons or protons), either statically as an accumulation of charge or dynamically as a current.😊
A generator is most efficient at 1800 rpm, water wheels go very slowly but have tremendous torque, so a larger reduction would aid in the effectiveness.
Also using a water channel means that the water can’t go around it, therefore providing more torque
Thanks i will use your advice to research more and build mine one day
@@kikyoass , also bigger wheel increases torque, but requires a greater elevation change if the water is going over it rather than under.
Open tesla turbine is a better water wheel and easy to diy.
I like it
That not enough wheel
Wow, amazing
isn't that just...hydropower ?
The wheel rotate too slow
Yes
No, it can convert energy.
What happens if we make cars take electricity from water so we don’t need to use gas no more
After electric generation is the water is usable or not
after some filtering i think it would be usable
Stay in India
My dream
GOOOOOOOOOD!🎉🎉🎉😊😊😊
A waterwheel is a great way to generate power, but it’s not that efficient. I would rather instead use a lily leaf impeller that has so many leaves that it looks more like a lily leaf turbine impeller so that I can keep the maximum amount of power out of it without the loss in efficiency
Yeah ok sure you'll survive out there with your lilly leaf jury rigged turbine impeller bro 👌😳🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Those lily leaf impellers really are sick, though.
But why not?
Wow
Great
FANTASTIC !!!!!!!!!! :)
