Lessons learned and lessons taught on every single show. This was a great hunt that probably left you with a lot more wisdom than you had going into it. Keep it up, this is a very motivational channel!
Great Hunt. Looks really really really cold!!!! Very cool video. Thanks. And to know that you left your hunting to go back to go to a Daddy Daughter Dance with your girl make me even more impressed.
Guys I’ve spent a lot of time watching back episodes of solo hunter. These men redefine hunting and epitomize self reliance. Love this channel and show. Couple thoughts for future shows. A show on pack out, what gear you bring and how you get ready, equipment used and the reasons behind your choices. Tips on how to be a more successful solo hunter. Just my thoughts. Keep up these fantastic videos men. Thanks 👍
Kill or not, still a successful hunt. Great video. Way to get after it. Tim, your's and Remi's vids always keep me going during the off season. Can't wait for deer season to open. Great stuff as usual Tim.
Awesome Video as always. Keep up the good work, great content. I know how hard it is to film in cold or rainy conditions. I really appreciate your work! Cheers Julius
Great content! Would love to know more about the equipment you use to "shoot" all of your footage! Perhaps a walk through of all of the gear including tripods, lenses and bodies you use and why? Thanks!!
Hey Tim! New sub here.Your video quality is amazing!! You have inspired me to try out self filming. What camera/lens combo around the very beginning of the footage and around the 3:00 mark? keep up the great work!
Tim, Love the show. Quick question about solo backcountry hunting as you and Remy are the number authority on the subject: What do you do to minimize the chances of a predatory attack while cleaning and packing animals out of the backcountry in the dark? It seems more often than not kills happen toward the evening. Early in the year its warm so you end up boning the animal into the dark hours of night. Then you end up packing the thing out in the dark which can be quite concerning when you are solo and you have a plethora of tasty meat on your back. It is much more difficult to watch your back when it is dark. Any advice would be great!! Thanks!
David, The biggest concern is not the pack out but the actual gutting/quartering of the animal. I've hunted many times on Kodiak Island, Alaska for Blacktail Deer. There are a lot of Brown Bears on Kodiak so you really have to pay attention while processing your animal in the field. It's good to have a buddy looking out during the process if possible. This is less of a concern in the lower 48 but there are some areas with high Griz and Wolf populations. The pack out is typically not very concerning, just make plenty of noise and you should be fine. If you have to return to a kill site ensure you approach carefully and again make plenty of noise. Overall I think your concern is valid but it is pretty unlikely to have such an encounter. Good hunting!
+David Heinisch Most critters including Wolves and Bears are typically fearful of humans, so as long as they know you are there they won't bother you. It's when you surprise them that issues can occur. Of course there are always exceptions and rare instances.
You are one of my favorites to watch Tim.
Humbled. Thank you!
When everyone else says there's No game because the wolves are present -- this guy Says the exact opposite with enthusiasm !!!!!!! Love it
Tim, great vid. You're an inspiration brother.

Yeah we're slow to work on that. Hopefully soon!
SOLO HUNTER Look forward to it!!
Hi great video I was wondering what cameras do you use and with the cold weather how long do the batteries last.
thank you. I use the Gh4 and pack several batteries. You have to keep them in an inside pocket. Cold zaps any battery fast
I use a Sony99 I found out the hard way about the batteries not lasting to long in the cold.
Hey Tim!
New sub here.Your video quality is amazing!!
You have inspired me to try out self filming. What camera/lens combo around the very beginning of the footage and around the 3:00 mark?
keep up the great work!
Sigma 18-250 on a Canon T4i. I still use that lens now but shoot a different camera.
What kind of hunt where you on that allows you to shoot a cow or bull elk?
Many states have "any elk" tags. We do in Wyoming.
What rifle sling do you use? The one in this video appears to be the same as you use on your other rifles?
I'm pretty sure it is just the Claw. www.quakeinc.com/The-Claw-Rifle-Sling.php
+SOLO HUNTER excellent, thank you!
Anyone know the name of the intro song?
Is that a backpack y'all sell? Or where can I find one like that
Hey Rey. We don't sell this pack. It is the SOLO from Stone Glacier. You might also check out the Mountain Warrior from Kifaru.net. Good luck
SOLO HNTR thanks guys! Keep up the good hunting god bless
Where were you here?
Near Leador

That's is a relief to hear. I appreciate your comments. I'm sure I'm over-reacting to a certain degree.

I never really worry about it. The wolves get hunted hard in that area so the first whiff of human and they're gone.
what muzzle loader do you use?
This is the Knight Mountaineer. Idaho modified
What camera do you use?
I use the panasonic GH4
