What I really want to know is how long must an individual experience difficulty falling asleep or maintaining asleep in order to meet the criteria for insomnia disorder? 6 months? 3 months? 2 weeks? One year? Please help. Or if anyone saw her mention please tell me what time she mentioned.
Great question! According to the DSM-5-TR, to meet the criteria for insomnia disorder, the difficulty with falling or staying asleep needs to occur at least three nights per week and persist for at least three months. It’s understandable how easy it is to miss these details, especially with so much information packed into the criteria. Have you noticed any other aspects of insomnia disorder that surprised you? Sleep issues can be complex, and understanding the criteria can really help in recognizing patterns and getting the right support.
I have insomnia and insomnia from a lung disorder. I am always tired to the point of falling asleep. I have nightmares if i do get deep sleep. I have seen the Hatman on several occasions which was terrifying. As a kid I would have to leap out of bed and do laps around the yard reciting my timetables forwards and backwards until the overwhelming feeling subsided. My hands felt just like two balloons inflating and deflating. I can't work anymore as i can't focus, answer questions or form sentences. I think insomnia is killing me. Nobody can function on a 1-2hrs per night for months

Hi, I was diagnosed with seizure disorder over a year ago and am filing disability as I've been unable to work. Anyhow the AED has me on a rollercoaster at night trying to sleep. I'm oft fatigued
I think I have this, I feel like I am having seizures and I can't get out it pulls me in, I hear a transistor radio and feel tingling throughout spine. Have you had something similar? So scary.
@@terrigreen100 the AED namely Keppra gives me erratic sleep patterns, fatigue drowsiness etc. The SSA said they have confirmed my medical records. I too advised them this prescription will pretty much end a commercial driving 🚛 career. Anywho the dreams at night are vivid suffice to say.

Same here
Yup
It’s no fun!
Did they ever try and misdiagnose you with schizophrenia? That has legitimately happened before. The harm done most have been enormous.
